INTRODUCTION TO QMSL

MSL is a service to retrieve and document all SQL Server Servers in one single document per each SQL KPI, that gives a complete library on most important subjects of SQL Server, like Server Configuration Settings, Database Configuration Settings, Database Data and Log Files Sizes, Database physical file locations, Database users, Database table

sizes, Database Index sizes and so on.., in a plain single report for all servers; as well as many other indicators already coded, ready to use and easy DB Admin tasks for Production, QA, DRP, Corporate Server, Branch Servers, Test and Development environments. All documents are written in PDF format, for easy SharePoint deployment, one single document could take a couple o minutes, all of them (more than 60), 2 or 3 hours. Main issues for report library: GBIS Green Book Information Schema, list data from the INFORMATION SCHEMA BBSI Blue Book System Information, list general system info YBAU Yellow Book Audit, list data for DB Audit purposes, either internal or external RBSE Red Book Security, list security issues, still under development PBMI Purple Book for Migration, Under construction, delivers compatibility issues when migrating to SQL Server 2008. QUICK MULTISERVER SNAPSHOT LIBRARY FOR SQL SERVER BLUE BOOK

Make a foundation library from all of the SQL Server servers of your

company, either grouped all of them or by function like Production, QA,

DRP, Corporate, Branch, Development, Test, on subjects like Database data

and log files size and location folders, table and index sizes, column

constraints and defaults among many other indicators like the ones listed

below for system information purposes.

Blue Book System Information Books. Get general system information for all

listed servers.

BBSI DATABASE DATA AND LOG SPACE USAGE. Shows database dat

and log files sizes as well as log% usage.

BBSI Servers hard disk space. Lists hard disk free space on every sever.

BBSI LAST DATABASE BACKUP. Lists last time database backups were

taken.

BBSI SERVER ACTIVITY REPORT. Lists last server statement executed and

related information.

BBSI Server Database Index Fill Factor. Shows all indexes, number of

rows and fill factor on every server, database and table.

BBSI SERVER DATABASE TABLE SPACE USAGE. Shows number of rows,

total able space reserved, used, unused on every table for each

server and database.

BBSI SQL Server configuration. Shows SQL Server configuration settings.

BBSI Microsoft Version Information. Shows all version information

settings for every server.

BBSI SQL Server Versión & SP. Shows SQL Server version information for

every server.

BBSI SYSADMIN ROLES BY SERVER. Shows logins with sysadmin role.
