USA SERIES FINISHES

Important Information Regarding USA Series™ Models MATTE POLY FINISHES: The stock/base finish option for all of our USA Series™ models (NS-Body Bolt-On™ and NS-Body Neck-Thru™) is a matte polyurethane finish over the stain of your choice found below (in the matte polyurethane finish section). HIGH GLOSS FINISHES: Our high gloss finish option is a "Special Order Option" and will add additional cost and production time to the construction of your bass. UPGRADE/SPECIAL ORDER STAINS: These unique and beautiful finish colours (finished in matte polyurethane or high gloss) are time-intensive to apply and therefore will add additional cost and production time to the construction of your bass. EXOTIC TOP WOODS (EX-TOP): Exotic Top Woods are offered when available and carry extra production costs as a Special Order Option. Premium Figured Maple can be stained any of the standard or special order colours displayed below. Other EX-Tops such as Buckeye Burl, Walnut Burl, Redwood Burl and Spalted Maple are given a natural stain and can be finished in matte polyurethane or high-gloss. Please contact the Spector® Authorized Dealer of your choice for more information regarding additional costs and production time associated with Special Order Finishes.

USA SERIES FINISHES

Walnut Burl Can be used as a veneer or solid (wings on Neck-Thru models) this wood comes in a wide variety of figuring and can greatly differ from tree to tree. Above are samples of figured

Redwood Burl Can be used as a veneer or solid (wings on Neck-Thru models) this wood comes in a wide variety of figuring and can greatly differ from tree to tree. Above are samples of figured

burl (left) and quilted burl (right)

Spalted Maple Can be used as a veneer or top this is figured maple with a special fungi that has grown in veins through the grain during the curing process. The amount of discoloration from

the "Spalting" process varies greatly from log to log.

Black Walnut Used as the backing on our Neck-Thru Models for Spalted Maple, Buckeye Burl &

Redwood Burl, this warm and rich tone wood can also be used in solid form for wings on our neck-thru models. It isn't necessarily "exciting" wood in terms of grain pattern, but it makes a great sounding material for construction. Many of the first Spector® NS-1™ and

early NS-2™ models from the late 1970's had solid Black Walnut wings.
