It is a matter of pleasure for me to present the Annual Report of Babasaheb Naik College of Engineering, Pusad for the session 2011-12, I feel proud & privileged to present the report of our esteemed institution to this august gathering. It is an occasion to asses our achievements, our systems and on the longer run our on-going journey towards quality and merit. Let us look ahead with all the passion to follow our vision and mission and to judiciously plan to accomplish new objectives which come along with the competitive time ahead. We have entered into a phase where we have not only to keep up to the long-established bench marks like ISO, NBA, Govt. gradations but should also envision indigenous objectives and standards pertaining to the aspiration of our institute . This year we have admitted 434 students in the first year BE, 143 students have taken admission directly to the second year in the branches of Civil, Mechanical, Electronics & Telecommunication, Information Technology, & Computer Science & Engineering Courses. In total there are 2129 students on roll in the college. 84 students have taken admission to Master of Engineering in various courses. This year we have admitted 434 students in the first year BE, 143 students have taken admission directly to the second year in the branches of Civil, Mechanical, Electronics & Telecommunication, Information Technology, & Computer Science & Engineering Courses. In total there are 2129 students on roll in the college. 84 students have taken admission to Master of Engineering in various courses.

In accordance with the mission of our college to support the students from weaker sections this session the college has operated concessions to 1505 students which includes 889 scholarships, 308 free ships, students 220 are under EBC, 15under STC, 17are under PTC while 56 get concession under minorities.

This year our institution has undergone the process of NBA accreditation for our four branches i.e. Civil, Mechanical, Electronics and Computer Science & Engineering which includes the visit of committee which was hosted by us on 7th, 8th & 9th of Oct. 2011. The result of the same is awaited.

As you are aware, college presently has ISO 9001:2008 certification. Three internal audits for the session 2011-2012 have been carried by SQMS, Nagpur. The recertification audit was carried out by URS; New Delhi on 4th & 5th Feb.2011, the auditors had recommended an upgraded ISO 9001:2008 certification to the college from 16/02/2011 to 15/02/2014.

A One day workshop on ISO-9001:2008 Awareness was organized for the faculty, supporting staff and final year students on 14th & 15th of June 2011.

In the session 2009-10, six students of this Institute have appeared in Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University Merit list. Ms. Shilpa Suman Ms Priti Maske, Mr Mayur Vanjare have bagged first ,second and third , all the three top positions in the merit list of Civil Engineering.

Ms. Shraddha Punde stood first, while Mr. Roshan Kumar Mehariya stood 10th in the merit list of Mechanical Engineering branch. Mr. Rakesh Kr. Vimal stood 8th in the merit list of Computer Science. & Engineering. We expect a good number of students to turn up in the merit list for the last session, i.e. 2010-11, so as to continue with this bright tradition. We have been successful in completing following projects, which we had thought about.

1. We already have started Post Graduate Courses as M.E. Structural Engineering in Civil and M.E. in Digital Electronics from the session 2010-11. This year i.e. session 2011-12 we have been sanctioned full time ME in CAD & CAM Engineering in Mechanical & ME in Computer Science & Engineering.

2. We have also been granted 60 additional seats for under graduate courses each in Mechanical & Computer Science & Engineering courses from this academic year in the second shift.

3. We have established MoU with other IIT’s for distance learning through VSAT.

4. In the Internet laboratory, software for GATE preparation has been installed. Same way IIT lectures are also available.

Presently we have few projects in pipeline

1. This year we are planning to apply for a new UG courses i.e. BE Electrical Electronics & Power with 60 seats. We wish to apply for BE Civil, with additional intake of 60 seats.

2. Air-cooled seminar hall with a capacity of 100 chairs with all Audio – Video facilities is planned.

3. An air-cooled reading hall with the carpet area of about 4000 sq. ft. is proposed to be constructed above the ground floor of the library.

4. The seminar hall at the auditorium is being furnished. 5. A decent cafeteria is proposed near the auditorium, and the work has

been initiated. 6. A walking track around the campus is also in the progress. 7. It is proposed to lift the look of the campus by developing new

landscapes; some changes have already been done. The infrastructural developments as mentioned to you will definitely

continue but I would like to inform you that we are keenly interested in the area of academic excellence.

Under Training & Placement activities :

In the last session, three students namely Ms. Bhagyashri Chiddarwar, Ms. Vaishnavi Shyam Gajbi & Mr. Abhishek Gadewar, final computer Sc. & Engg have been selected at campus recruitment programme on 19th Feb.11 in Global Logic, Nagpur.

Mr. Pravin Pandurang Bodke was selected for Anglo Eastern ship Management, Mumbai, while Mr. Amol S. Kumbhar, Mr. Ravi Jogdand, Shyam Choudhari, Sawan Kumar, Swapnil S. Shinde from final year Civil have been selected for Shree Om Steel, Jalana on 23rd Feb. 2011.

Ms. Apurva Khade, Final year Electronics & Ms. Poonam Aswani Final year computer have been selected for EDS Mphasis on 23rd Feb. 2011.

Mr. Onkareshwar Yerawar, final year IT has been selected for Synergy Technology, Pune.

Five of our final year students namely Ku. Shweta Vishwakarma, Mr. Kaushal, Mr. Sumit Sahu, Mr. Swapnil Bodke and Ms. Madhavi D.

Mrinmayee Ganage, Mr. Amol Kasambe, Mr. Sahil Govindwar, Mr. Sanket Band, Mr. Sourabh Soni & Mr. Vishal Dhore.

I congratulate them all. The T&P department runs training programs for aptitude test, communication skills, motivational and goal setting programs for all the four years. Agencies like Rishi Cool, Mumbai, Universal Education, Bangalore, Square Circles, Jalgaon have been involved in training of more than 1000 students. The cell also facilitated in-plant vocational training to students in more than 16 industries. The department has MOU with six prime consultants and employers.

Dr. Abhay Gaikwad have visited Pune from 21st to 27th of Nov. 11 to explore possibilities for placement and their has been a good response by about 20 employers. The Training & Placement cell has organized an expert lecture on “Interview Techniques” by Career forum, Nagpur, on "Abroad Education" by Global Cognition , Nagpur in the last session. In this session an expert lecture on “I for India-An emerging superpower & My contribution” by Adv. Ganesh Halkare, Ideal Corporate Education Pvt. Ltd., Amravati was organized on 29th Sept. 11. Mr. Rajiv Ranjan, GET, ADP India Ltd., Pune did Online Interaction with our students. Prof. M. R. Vyawahare, T&P officer, Prof. R. P. Godbole, Head, Humanity Deptt. & Prof. M. G. Lomte, I/c first year, interacted with first year students for placement activity. Prof. R.P.Godbole, HOD, Humanity Deptt. facilitated the students for HR requirements and verbal aptitude , Aptitude practice etc.

Yesterday i.e. 22nd of January we had organized a Alumni meet for

the pass out batches of the year 1987,1988, 1989. The response has been good. There has been a fruitful interaction on the future contribution of our alumni in the development of the Institute, branding ourselves & placement support. The alumni have enjoyed being here as they have very fond memories of this place.

The National Service Scheme i.e. NSS activities started with election of representatives. Mr. Saurabh Soni and Ms. Prachi Patil were nominated as President and lady Representative respectively.

The unit celebrated NSS Day on 24th of Sept 11. Prof. Ulhas Chavhan, Regional Coordinator, NSS was the chief guest for the NSS day function. Mr. Sudhir Pathak was the guest of honour, while Principal Dr. K. Ravi

was the Chairman. The NSS Unit this year has participated in tree plantation on Independence day, Blood donation Camp with ISTE chapter was held where upon 278 students donated the blood.

The unit has observed Dr. Sarwapalli Radhakrishanan’s Jayanti, Engineers Day, Teachers Day, Mahatma Gandhi , Lal Bahadur Shashtri Jayanti & Shri Sudhkarraoji Naik Jayanti as “Jal Sandharan Divas” on 21st of Aug. 11.,

Mr. Pawan Dawande has participated in State Level Camp on “Disaster Management” from 6th to 15th June 11. Ms. Amruta Uttarwar & Ms. Bhagyshree Naik have participated in University Level workshop on “Women empowerment” on 4th & 5th Oct 2011.

The annual camp of the unit was organized from 23rd to 30th Dec.2011 at Village Bori (Khurd) where many programmes on water conservation, social awareness were conducted.

The College has a rich library housed in the specious area of 1500 sq. m. Library is totally computerized with LIBSYS software. Services offered by the library are book lending, reference, open access (General, Reference & Periodical Section), reprography, internet Services, audio-video facilities etc.

The library has a Collection of 52,837 printed books worth Rs. 1,10,00,000/-, 102 Journals worth Rs. 1 lakh, 478 E-Journals worth Rs. 10,74,713 /- (Approx.), 145 IEEE E-Journal’s, 275 Elsevier E-Journals, 25 ASME E-Journals, 33 ASCE E-Journals, 1,700 E-Books, ASTM ,13,000 Journals Articles, McGraw-Hill Reference E-Books. Audio-Video Section contains IIT Experts lecture CD’s with LED TV & Sound System worth Rs. 1 Lakh, 52 CDs in professional & communication Skills & 304 Educational Audio-Video CD’s are available. Purchase of books for post graduate programs (M.E. Structures, Digital Electronics, CAD-CAM & CSE) has been done. These books are worth Rs. 1,97,465/- . Library has purchased 6 Book Racks, Costing Rs. 1 lakh. Central library received grant of Rs. 9,00,000/- from social Welfare department and books will be procured soon. This year reference section reading space was extended to the capacity of more than 150 students. The Book Bank facility is provided to more than 600 students, each student gets 10 books for the even & odd semester.

To provide platform for the creativity of the students, our college magazine named “IMPETUS-2012” is getting ready. Our magazine has

been adjudged best magazine in the category of Technical Institutes by the University many times. We have a Teacher Guardian Scheme, which looks into the welfare of students personally through the Teacher Guardians. The TG scheme has arranged two major events like parent meet successfully on 26th June 2011 and 8th of August 2011.

The IE(I) i.e. Institution of Engineers, India, Chapter of Civil Engineering department was inaugurated on 8h Aug.2011. Principal Dr. K. Ravi inaugurated the chapter. Dr. D. K. Parbat, Associate Professor, Govt. Polytechnic, Sakoli was the chief guest. Prof V.N. Chavan , Head of the civil Department also attended the function.

The chapter has organized an expert lecture by Dr. D.K.Parbat on “Traffic Management for better Environment” on 8th of Aug 2011. Another Expert lecture on “Environmental Management for Sustainable Development” was delivered by Dr. P.B. Nagarnaik Dean, G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering Nagpur on 1st of Oct. 2011.

A field visit to water treatment plant was organized. A one day workshop on “Basics of Civil Engineering” was also arranged. Mr. S. P. Ingle, Assistant General Manager, L &T Nasik delivered an expert lecture on “Eco-friendly construction of roads & bridges” on 23rd of Dec. 2011.

The New body IE (I) Chapter of Electronics & Telecommunication department was installed on 25th august 2011. Principal Dr.K.Ravi, Vice Principal Prof. H.B. Nanwala, Head Prof. N. P. Jawarkar guided the students. A One day workshop on Orcad PCB Layout was conducted where 41 students were benefited. An expert lecture was delivered by Prof. N.P. Jawarkar on PLC. Another one day workshop was organized on “Introduction to MATLAB” Prof.N.P. Jawarkar and Prof.A.N.Gaikwad conducted the workshop. 65 students registered for the event. They organized invited expert lecture of Mr. Amit Tathode, Trainee Engineer, PROLIFIC System & Technology Ltd., Nagpur on “PLC & Automation” for the students of final year on March 10, 2011

The IE (I) Chapter of Computer Science Engineering was installed on 20th of Aug.11 under the Chairmanship of Principal Dr. K. Ravi, Prof S.T. Khandare, faculty advisors Prof. P.H. Pawar, Prof. S.I. Khan, all the staff members & students were present. The chapter organized Group discussion, Speech competition, Training programme on Rational rose software.

An expert lecture by Ms. Mayuri Gadewar, Intel India Pvt. Ltd .Pune, was organized on “preparation of GATE examination & Recruitment process in Organizations” on 3rd of Sept 2011.

An expert lecture by Mr. M. Anand Raju, Senior System Architect,Uvaca Digital systems, Banglore, was organized on “The Query based Hamming (QBH) Systems” on 17th of Sept 2011.

The chapter has also organized an expert lecture by Mr. Manish Kumar Shrivastava, Manager IT, NTPC, Delhi. Anand Raju, Senior System Architect, Uvaca Digital systems, Banglore, on “Role of Engineers in project Management” on 17th of Sept. 2011& on “Career Building” an interaction programme for students on 18th of Sept 2011. The IE(I) Chapter of Mechanical Engineering has organized activity like Resume Preparation , Extempore, Aptitude Test & Essay competition on “Need of Renewable Energy in Future” also organized an essay competition.

The Mechanical Engineering Student Association “MESA” has

elected for the session 11-12 Mr. Saurabh.P. Kale as President & Mr. Dhiraj Dube as Gen. Secretary. They have organized programme like Quiz Competition, Aptitude Test, Debate Competition, Speech Competition, Extempore, Seminar Competition through out the session. The winners were given handsome cash prizes for their achievement. The association has also taken aptitude test series for the students. They have observed Teachers Day with enthusiasm. The association has organized an expert lecture on “Latent hit storages and energy analysis” by Prof. Jagdheeshwaran , Tolani Maritime Institute, Pune on 8th of March 11. A guest lecture on “Operation Research Technique” by Padmashri Dr. Kiran Seth (IIT, Delhi) was organized on 26th of Feb. 2011.

A National Level ROBOWAR and Software Competitions were organized on 19th Feb. 11 were 107 students participation.

To promote interaction with Industry an Industry Institute Interaction cell is established. The objectives behind the cell are to established joint research programmes and field studies by faculty and people from industry, visits of faculty to industry for study and discussion and delivering lectures of mutual interest, visits of industry people to institute for seeing research facilities and delivering lectures, Memoranda of understanding i.e. MoU between institute and industry.

An MoU Under research and development scheme with Science and Technology Park, Pune which is a joint venture of University of Pune and

DST, India has been signed for the developing of projects. Total 14 projects were taken by different departments. Electronics departments has two while mechanical has five, civil shares five , one project is with computer science & one is with physics department. The projects are in the initial stage of problem specification and preparation of the detailed project Report is in progress.

Under consultancy, two MOU were signed with M/s Soni Automobiles and one patent was jointly filed. Department of Computer Science has signed agreement with Cisco Network Academy Bangalore. Under this agreement CCNA course is taken for student benefits, because of the training under CCNA, HP Company has selected 20 students in campus recruitment program. An MOU has been signed with Qualitree solutions Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore on Sharing of technical expertise & arranging visits of faculty and students of college to Qualitree & technical experts of Qualitree to college.

ISTE staff chapter of the Institution has organized activities like Passport Camp, Medical Camp, and ISO Awareness Programme etc. They have also organized expert lectures like “Carbon Immersion and Treading” by Shri Manish Kumar Shrivastava, NTPC New Delhi, “Art And Science of writing research papers” by Dr.S.D. Pohekar, Tolani Institute of Management, Pune & “Basic of patenting in research “ by Adv. Swapnil Gawande, Amravati on 17th June, 3rd August and 16th September 2011 respectively.

Prof. H. R. Deshmukh has been elected un-opposed as Executive Member, National Executive Council, ISTE New Delhi.

ISTE students’ chapter of Babasaheb Naik College of Engineering, Pusad performed following activities:

The election for the chapter was held on 11th August 2011. Mr. Tejas S. Bidwai was elected as President while Mr. Soyab K. Sheikh was elected as Secretary. ISTE Students chapter has taken keen efforts for student membership this year. Now the chapter has 1597 members.

ISTE Students Chapter, of the college was inaugurated on 12th September 2011 at the hands of Dr. S. V. Dudul, Head, Deptt. of Applied Electronics, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati. They have conducted an essay writing competition for first to final year students of college on 02/09/2011. Topics were “Measures to be taken to control corruption.” for First & Second year and “Measures to be taken to improve academic performance of students” for third & final year. From first and second year group, Mr. Shrikant S. Lanjulkar, 2nd year Mechanical won the

first Prize of Rs. 1500/- cash & Ms. Mayuri Deshmukh, 2nd year IT won the second prize worth Rs. 1000/-. A consolation Prize was given to Ms. Veena Dabhade, a first year student. From third and final year group Ms. Prachi Patil, final year Electronics won the first Prize i.e Rs. 1500/- and Ms. Rashmi Motewar, final year IT bagged the second Prize worth Rs.1000/-.

They have conducted an expert lecture by Mr. Charanjeetsingh Minhas, CEO, Textram, New York, USA on the topic “How to develop Business abroad” on 2nd Aug.2011 . Another expert lecture by Dr. S.D. Pohekar and Mr. S. Jagdheeswaran, Associate Professor, Tolani Maritime Institute, Pune was organized on the topic “Art and Science of writing Research Paper” on 3rd of Aug. 2011.

An Expert lecture by Er. Prakash Bakshi, Plant Head, REHAU International limited, Rajgurunagar, Pune was arranged on the topic “Achieving Business Excellence” on 29/09/2011 in collaboration with Entreprenuarship Develpopment Cell. An Aptitude Test on 22nd September 2011 was also organized. They have also organized cricket matches under sports activity for staff and students, cash prizes were awarded to the winners.

Our college has been a part of a pool of about 40 colleges in vidarbha who are providing virtual classroom facility to our students. The virtual classroom has broadcasted programs like “Importance of Virtual Classrooms” by Mr. Mangesh Karnik on 16th July 2011, “Importance of Final year Projects” by Mr.Prashant Ahir, Tata Motors on 21st July 2011. “Disruptive innovation in learning process and importance of project activity” by a very prominent scientist Dr. Arun Nigvekar, “Virtual CNC training program” by Mr. Shravan Bhagat, Bajaj Steel on 3rd to 5th August, 2011 for the benefit of more than 1500 students.

The Student Counseling Cells has been established in each department. The departmental cell has three members, with one member essentially a lady. Application form for an on demand personal counseling is available on college website & also with Prof in-charge of the departmental cell. Email facility can be used for such counseling. Many common programs of student counseling and motivation have been conducted with training and placement cell such as “FLY HIGH” by Mr.Satish Mandora on 16th & 17th Sept. 2011, “India as Super Power and My Contribution” by Adv. Ganesh Halkare, Interaction with First Year Students for Career, Professional Counseling has been done.

We have a tradition of organizing a National Level Technical Paper contest for students named “THRESHOLD” for the past Twenty one years. This year the “Threshold-11-12” was organized on 24th & 25th Sept. 2011. Dr. L.M. Waghmare, Dean R&D, SGGS, Nanded was the chief guest & Prof. Dr. K. Ravi, was the Chairman for the inauguration function. Prof. A.C. Saoji was the coordinator of the event.

More than 92 papers were received. 72 papers represented by127 students were selected for presentation in four themes. The Best two papers in each theme were awarded a cash prize of Rs. 5000/- & Rs. 3000/- respectively. The event was flanked by an “on spot software” competition were 81 students participated for four applications. Attractive prizes were awarded to the winners. The Faculty Recreation Club of our college had taken an initiative to conduct Cricket & Volleyball tournaments for Faculty & Staff of the Institute. Computer & IT Department won the Cricket tournament. Electronics Department won the Volleyball tournament.

The executive body of Student’s Representative council i.e. SRC was constituted on 26th of Sept 2012 . Mr Navneet V. Sole was nominated as President, while Ms. Anuradha Thakur was nominated as General Secretary with eight other executive members who are here on stage with us today.

SRC celebrated Teachers’ day on 15th September 2012 along with Engineers’ day in the presence of Chief Guest Shri Kuldeep Ramteke, Executive Engg. Irrigation dept. Pusad. Shri Dipakji Asegaonkar member JSPM was the chairman of the function. Prof. S.H. Mahure of the Civil Engg. Department was felicitated as a senior teacher on the occasion of teachers’ day. Dr. R.J. Bhiwani of the Electronics Department was felicitated for completion of his Ph.D. at the hands of the Chief guest Shri Kuldeep Ramteke. About 35 teachers were felicitated for their paper presentation at national and international conference and journals.

An essay competition on topic ‘Employability and present education system in India’ was held on 12th Sep. 2012. About 30 students participated. Mr. Ritesh R Chaudhari of final year Mechanical won 1st prize and Mr. Ramchandra B. Gawai of third year Mechanical won the 2nd prize.

Mega cultural event ‘Gaiety 2012’ is scheduled for three day from today i.e. on 23rd, 24th and 25th Jan. 2012.Variety entertainment programs comprised of Hindi and Marathi skits, Mime, solo & group dances, songs, Mimicry, Mono-acting , song competition ‘Voice of BNCE’ are planned for Gaiety 2012.

Technical and Art Exhibition is also arranged where different scientific models, slide show, painting, fine art, rangoli, salad decoration, flower decoration will be exhibited .

Our college has “Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth” i.e. SPICMACAY, which provides students an opportunity see the performance of topmost artists in dance & Indian classical music .

Our College runs Student’s Consumer Co-operative Stores to fulfill the daily requirements of the students including stationary, general items and Xeroxing facility to students in minimum possible cost. In the financial year 2010-11 the total sale has been Rs 7, 50,698/-.

Under the Departmental achievements the prominent are :

Department runs four year degree course in Civil Engineering. With an intake capacity of 60. This year department has started post graduate course in structural engineering with an intake of 18. The department is equipped with well developed laboratories having modern equipment like Total Station, Loading Frame, Plate Load test with digital proving ring and spectrophotometer etc.

Department of Mechanical Engineering has well equipped laboratories and existing few laboratories are computerized like Heat Transfer, Internal Combustion Engines. Department has added Computerized Diesel Engine Test Rig costing about Six lacs in I.C. Engine laboratory. Eleven Computer machines of Rs. 3.25 lacs have been added in the CAD/CAM Laboratory. The department has been enriched with Pro-e software costing about 3.7 lacs and Ansys Acadamic Teaching Version 110 costing about 2.10 lacs. Department has established “Renewable Energy Park” costing about 10 lacs for propagating the use of Renewable Energy Sources to the public and is open for the visitors.

Department has successfully organized and conducted Pro-E course for 61 No. of students.

This year department has started full time post graduation in “CAD-CAM ENGG” with an intake of 18th Students.

The Electronics and Telecommunication department is equipped with well-developed laboratories having state-of-art equipment such as Microstrip system trainer, MATLAB software with toolboxes, DSP Training Software, DSP System Generator, Spartan III based

VLSI/DSP kit, PCs (121) with server, and Labview software. Recently LPC 2148 ARM modules, ‘C’ Cross compiler for ARM microcontroller & 89C51 microcontroller, VLSI Design Software Microwind 3.5 were added. PG degree course M.E. (Digital Electronics) with intake of 18 students has commenced in the department from July 2010. The Department has signed MoUs with Sony Automobiles and S&T Park, University of Pune relating development of projects.

Department has organized two week ISTE approved Short Term Training programme on “Speech & Image Processing” during 9th – 18th , June 2011. Thirty One faculty members participated in this training programme which included participants from Jalgaon, Aurangabad, Khamgaon and Chikhli. Dr. B.M. Patre, Professor and Head, Dept. of Instrumentation Engineering, S. G. G. S. I.E.& Technology, inaugurated the STTP and delivered keynote address. Dr. S. N. Talbar, Dr. M. B. Kokare Dr. R. S. Holambe S. G. G. S. I.E.& Technology Nanded, Dr. Milind Mushrif, Head of Electronics and Telecomm. Deptt., Yashwantrao Chavhan College of Engineering,Wanadongri, Nagpur, Mr. Nirmalya Sen and Mr. Rajesh Bodade, Research Scholars from I.I.T. Kharagpur and SGGS, Nanded respectively and local faculty delivered expert lectures in this STTP. Prof. N. P. Jawarkar & Prof. S.M.Agrawal were coordinators for this STTP.

The Department has organized a one day workshops on “Introduction to LABview” and “Introduction To Statistical Analysis” for teaching staff of Institute on 16th April 2011 and 9th December 2011 respectively. Prof. A.N. Gaikwad was the co-ordinator of these workshops.

The department organized One day Workshop for students on “OrCAD PCB Layout Design” on 7th Aug 2011. They have also organized One day Workshop for students on “Introduction to MATLAB” on 18th Sept. 2011.

Prof. P.O. Modani presented a paper titled “Effect of Different Exposure Condition on the rate of corrosion of Mild steel bars” at National level conference ‘TECHNOCON-12’ at DMIETR Wardha from 6th to 7th Jan 2012. Prof. S.I. Khan is doing Post graduation in Civil (Structure).

Prof. F.I. Mirza, Prof. S.V.Chopde and Prof . S.G. Labhshetwar have completed there post graduation in “ Production and Management” from RMIR&T, Badnera.

Prof. R. J. Bhiwani has been awarded Ph.D. degree in June 2011 from Shri Ramanand Tirtha University, Nanded. His paper titled “Design of Robust PI/PID Controller for Fuzzy Parametric Uncertain Systems” has been published in International Journal for Fuzzy systems, Taiwan Vol. 13, of March 2011. Another paper titled “Stability Analysis of Fuzzy Parametric Uncertain Systems” is published in ISA Transaction, Elsevier, Vol. 50, of Oct. 2011.

Prof. A. N. Gaikwad has been awarded Ph.D. degree from I.I.T. Roorkee in January 2012. His paper titled “Application of Clutter Reduction Techniques for detection of metallic and low dielectric target behind the brick wall by SFCW radar in UWB range" has been published in International Journal IET Radar, Sonar & Navigation vol. 5, 2011. From the Department of Applied Mathematics Dr.S.V. Thakare has published a research paper in National Journal titled “The Mathematics Education”. He has attended an international conference of the Indian Mathematical Society organized by SRTM university Nanded from 27th to 30th December 2011. He has also attended a one day seminar at Adarsh Science College, Dhamangaon on Protection of Human Rights and presented a paper titled “ Right to Education : In View of Rural India”. He has been approved as Ph.D. guide in Mathematics by SGB Amravati University.

Prof. M. G. Lomte has been invited as a resource person to deliver an expert lecture on “Contribution of Higher Education in Social Development” in UGC sponsored National Conference to be organized on Jan. 27th – 29th, 2012 at Utkal University, Cuttak.

The Department of Humanities has been established from the session 2011-12. Subjects like Communication skills, Principles of management, Environmental Sciences, Social science, Engineering Economics & Foundation English are being taught by the department with the support of five faculty members. The department also contributes to the training of the students from the placement point of view, which includes language & speech development, Professional skills like Interview skills, Group discussions, Resume preparation & for the overall personality development of the students. The Department has a well equipped language laboratory to support this endeavor. The language laboratory has frequent visitors as it is a model laboratory of our region. This year the laboratory has been visited by the members of faculty & Management of Kopergaon college of Engineering, Prof. Skhirsagar, Head, Computer Deptt. & his team along with Shri. Dadasaheb Kolhe, main trustee of the college. Mr. & Mrs. Abhijit Deshmukh a senior Electronic Engineer & English trainer, Ahemadabad also visited the lab.

Chavan presented a paper titiled “Green House Building” & won 2nd Prize, Mr. Rushabh. K. Bawankar won 1st prize in “On Spot Software Competition” in THRESHOLD -2011 at our college. About 7 students of the department participated in paper presentation competitions in various colleges.

From the department of Mechanical Engineering nine students have presented technical papers &have attended short term courses, while eight have attended industrial training. More than 50 students have completed CATIA &ANSIS course from MSME tool room Hydrabad.

Mr. Pravin Ingole completed his project training on “understanding of volume Measurements” in Wrilpool India Ltd. Mr. kuldip Rajak has

completed his vocational training on CATIA V5R18 course from Indo Danish Tool Room, Jamshedpur.

From Deparment of Electronics & Tele comm. Mr. Vishal Dongre, Ms. Janki Wankhade and Mr. Gaurav Kumar have qualified GATE-2011. Ms. Munazza Zarin R. Shaikh and Ms. Prajakta P. Tundalwar won first prize in Threshold 2011-12 for their technical paper titled “Wireless Access Technologies”, organized by BNCOE, Pusad during 24th and 25th Sept. 2011.

Mr. Parag Kulkarni, Mr. Prashant Daryapurkar, Mr. Hemant Thembhare and Mr. Akshay Tathe won first Prize in Robotics Roborance as a part of Prajwalan- 2011 organized by Govt. College of Engineering, Amravati.

Mr. Ashwin Bhuyar (3UB) and Mr. Ashish Nanoti (3UB) secured Second Prize for their paper titled “Nanotechnology in Human Body” in the National Level Students’ Convention : QUARK-11 organized at Tulsiramji Gaikwad-Patil College Of Engg. & Tech, Nagpur during 14th & 15th January 2011.

Mr. Himanshu Chauhan and Mr. Amit Belonde presented paper on “Wireless Sensor Network” and won consolation prize in the National Conference on Advanced Technology NIRMITI-2011 organized by Pariyadarshini Institute of Engineering and Technology, Nagpur during 8th and 9th March 2011.

Mr. Sandeep Eknath Dandge is certified by Red Hat Inc. as a Red Hat Certified Engineer, Red Hat Enterprise Linux-5 . About 18 students participated in the event Paper Presentation at National Level Techfest Wheel Spin-11 organized by Bapurao Deshmukh College of Engineering Sevagram (Wardha) held on 25th Jan. 2011.

More than 100 students of the Electronics & Telecommunication Department have participated in events like paper presentation, poster presentation, Robo-war ,working model competition, technical exhibitions etc.

Six Students from the department of Computer Science Qualified GATE-2011 namely Mr. Abhishek Gadewar, secured 97.68%, Mr. Paryushan Bujurge secured 95.00% , Ms.Vaishnavi Gajbi secured 92.16%, Mr.Gaurav Dadhe secured 86.74%, Mr.Swapnil Bokade secured 81.75% & Mr.Ashish Ranjan secured 88.00%.

Sixteen students have presented technical paper in “Threshold1 2011-12” held at BNCE Pusad during 24th-25th SEPT 2011.

Sarika Malani & Ruchi Gattani Won Second prize in ‘Threshold 2011-12’at Babasaheb Naik College of Engg., Pusad

Ninety Three Students from department appeared for CET, GATE, MPSC competitive exams.

Eighty Students from CSE & IT Department have presented papers at various International & national Technical paper contests including Threshold 2011-12 organized by our College.

In this session IBM Rational Suite” training has commenced for the betterment of students in collaboration with IBM Rational Rose, Pune. Total 30 students and 04 staff members were benefited from this course. Similarly“Cisco Network Training” programme has started in the department & total 28 students have been benefitted from this course from the department.

The Mathematics department has motivated Mr.T.S.Sarkate and Mr. V. S. Ingole 2nd year students to attend a seminar on Mathematics organized by P.N.College Pusad on 4th October 2011. Mr.T.S. Sarkate secured first rank in this seminar.

Coming on to Cultural activities of the Students :

As many as 37students of our college participated in Inter collegiate Youth Festival of SGB Amravati University, Amravati at HVPM ‘s Degree college of Physical Education in various cultural events during 22nd to 25th September, 2011. Our Students have participated in various activities like essay writing, drawing, debate, etc at various places in Maharashtra. The students provided a very attractive cultural show before the visiting NBA team , which was highly appreciated.

Ms. Amruta Uttarwar students of 2nd year electronics participated in elocution competition held by “swachata mitra karandak waktrutwa spardha” at taluka level on 6th august 2011. Her topic was “tarunaeche nave daghe – swachatetun samrudhikade”. She won the 2nd prize and was selected to participate in the district level competition where she stood first and was felicitated at the hands of Mr.Nitin Raut with a cash prize of Rs.11000/-

Four of our student represented the 2nd Indian student parliament organized by MIT school of government, Pune from 10th to 12th Jan 2012. Coming to the Sport Activities :-

The College has well equipped 16 station multi-gym and provides facility for Basketball, Boxing, Badminton, Ball badminton, Cricket, Chess, Carom, Football, Volleyball, Table Tennis and Lawn Tennis. Most of the courts now have flood lights

This year our college Lawn Tennis team has been the winner & the Chess team has achieved 2nd position in the Inter collegiate tournaments of the University.

As many as 144boys and girls have participated in more than 14 activities in the sports competitions conducted by SGB Amravati University, Amravati Inter collegiate tournaments

Nearly 455 boys and girls have participated in the indoor and our-door sport activities for social annual gathering “Gaiety 2012” and winners are eagerly waiting to get prizes day after tomorrow

Our college has successfully conducted Inter collegiate tournaments for football” A-Zone”during 10th to 15th Sept. 2011. Lawn Tennis tournaments from 1st to 3rd Oct. 2011, while the University selection in Lawn tennis was conducted from 4th to 6th Oct.2011,
