SMJV’s CKSVIM organized 2nd Memorial Lecture and a prayer meet on 6th January 2016 at
CKSVIM, in the memory of Hon. Dr. Dipchandbhai Gardi, Former Chairman of SMJV who
passed away on 6th January 2014 at Mumbai.
Dr Rajesh Khajuria, Director, gave an intro speech on Hon. Dr. Dipchandbhai Gardi's life. He
shared his experience with him. Dr Khajuria remembered the words of Gardi Sir, “Rather than
expecting we should create it”. He then focused on Gardi Sir's journey of life which started
with purchasing an unused land and then selling it on high price for the betterment of society. Half
of his life he donated into education. In Saurashtra region he financed 22 colleges and university
department. Approximately 2500 village schools were helped by him. He also built school for
the children of prostitutes in Kolhapur. His main advice to Dr Khajuria was ‘Work for students
and prepare them for 10 years’.
Shri Nileshbhai Shah, Local Committee member gave his thought of enhancing, encouraging
the positive aspects. His speech was fully focused on ‘Jyot se Jyot Jalate Chalo’ that means
goodness should be transmitted. Idea of donating should continue.
Shri Bhupendrabhai Makati, Local Committee member, summed up by giving message that we
should always contribute to our society no matter how small our contribution is.

CKSVIM offers Master of Business Administration (MBA), two-year full time Post-Graduate
Degree Program approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE -
www.aicte.ernet.in), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India and
affiliated to Gujarat Technological University (GTU- www.gtu.ac.in), Ahmedabad /

Gandhinagar, offering admissions to GTU’s MBA Program through Common Management
Admission Test (CMAT).
CKSVIM strength of Potential Managers (Students)
113 students enrolled for the MBA Batch 7 (2015-17). Some 82 Students were studying in MBA
Batch 6 (2014-16) who Graduated in June, 2016. Total 195 students studied at the Campus during
2015-16. MBA Batch 8 (2016-18) saw a record admission to 124 new students, which include 3
International students from Afghanistan and 1 from Nepal.
Centre for Common Management Admission Test (CMAT)
CKSVIM is the only centre in Vadodara for conducting CMAT exams.

Projects
CKSVIM students works on three kind of projects, which are part of GTU Curriculum:
Global Country Study Report (GCSR)
In the new Global MBA program, introduced by GTU under the leadership of Dr. Akshai Aggarwal
(Former VC of GTU) and Dr. Rajesh Khajuria, Chairman, GCSR, since August 2011, every
student is required to study the business environment in some country with the perspective of an
Indian analyst. The two-semester course of Global Country Study Report has been introduced at
the 3rd and the 4th semesters in MBA program and the students are encouraged to establish
contacts with businesses and scholars in the country, which they are studying.
CKSVIM students opt for USA and Germany as their country study.
Comprehensive Project (CP)
Comprehensive project is a compulsory subject in GTU MBA Semester IV curriculum.
Comprehensive project provides an opportunity for the student to to use their acquired theoretical
knowledge into practical experience and reveal an understanding of the ideas, concepts and skills
gained through their MBA program. The project focuses on a relevant Industry / Business / NGO
/ Government topic that is of interest to the student.
Summer Internship Project (SIP)
Summer placement (summer internship programme, i.e., now popularly known as SIP), is an
integral part of the academic curriculum of MBA. For the successful completion of the MBA
programme, the students are required to complete the SIP. After completion of the 1st year of the
programme, i.e., after the 2nd semester and before the commencement of the second year of the
programme, the students are required to work with an organisation for hands on experience. The
duration of the SIP is six to eight weeks.

Training, Industry Mentorship and CEO Network.
Scholarships & Loan Schemes CKSVIM strives to help as many students as possible who belongs to lower income families and students who are excellent in studies by rewarding their talent and hardwork so they continue their MBA Course with ease and enthusiasm. CKSVIM make sure MBA students avail scholarship awarded by the Gujarat Government and SMJV Trust. Total 42 students availed scholarship under the name of "Dr. Dipchandbhai Gardi - SMJV Centenary (1915 - 2015) - CKSVIM MBA Merit cum Means Scholarship" and 2 students availed loan under Smt. Indumati Shrikant Vasa Higher Education Loan Scheme in the year 2015-16.

Higher Education Forum (HEF) scholarship for the year 2015
Ms. Sonia Sachdev, (Student of Semester III, Batch VI) has been awarded the prestigious 2nd
Higher Education Forum (HEF) scholarship for the year 2015.
The award comprised of a citation and a scholarship amount of Rs 10,000/.
From this year onwards, HEF also introduced the concept of Student of the Year Award to the
student who scores highest in the evaluation process. The award this year was honored to Sonia
Sachdev.
The scholarship and the student of the year award was honored on 9th December 2015 at ITM
Business School, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai.
Free Press Journal (FPJ) scholarship for the year 2015
Ms. Shamika Vaidya (student of Semester I, Batch VII) has been awarded the prestigious Free
Press Journal (FPJ) scholarship for the year 2015.
The award comprised of a citation and a scholarship amount of Rs 20,000/.
The scholarship was honored on 9th December 2015 at ITM Business School, Kharghar, Navi
Mumbai.
Peregrine Mid Online Test @ CKSVIM
Peregrine's Global Business Education online Inbound Test for Batch 8 (semester 1) and Midpoint
Test for Batch 7 (semester 3) students was held on 22nd August 2015.
Through this online test CKSVIM students are compared with similar students in more than 60
countries. CKSVIM is the First Institute to conduct such type of test in India. CKSVIM
students will be recognized globally based on this exam. CKSVIM MBA Students fared well in
comparison with global MBA average scores, is a matter of pride for all stakeholders.

Rahul Rathod, student of Batch V (2013-15) has been awarded Gold Medal at the 5th
Convocation - 2016 on 28th January 2015 at GTU for been a Branch Topper in Rural and
Agro Based Management.
Placement Scenario
CKSVIM, once again beat expectations and raised the bar with the Final Placement Season
2015-16. CKSVIM witnessed stellar placements, both in terms of the compensation and the wide
variety of profiles on offer. CKSVIM being one of the most trusted and revered B-Schools in
Gujarat witnessed the participation of premier business houses and corporates in this year's Final
Placements.
The Batch of MBA 2014-16 also saw an increase in compensation reflecting the industry's growing
faith in CKSVIM's MBA Programme and its talent pool. CKSVIM scaled new heights by placing
around 80% of the batch before the completion of their Final Exams.
Premier companies such as Alembic Pharma, American Infosource, ICICI Prudential LIfe
Insurance Co. Ltd., ICICI Securities, InOrbit Mall, Induslnd Bank, Integration Point, Jhaveri
Securities, Roshni Computer Services, Sorbead India, Welcome Hotel were some of the
major recruiters and also most of them were coming for the first time for the Campus Interviews.

Two of the students have got the International Placements with ICICI Bank, Dubai with the
package of 18 lacs and 12 lacs.
The highest package for Marketing & Finance area is Rs. 4 lacs offered by IndusInd Bank, and
for HR area at Rs. 2.25 lacs (Training period) offered by Alembic Pharma.

MBA Job Fair @ CKSVIM
CKSVIM MBA Job Fair 2016 was organized on 23rd January, 2016 with an aim to bring together
recruiters and talented MBA Freshers under one roof.

This Job Fair gave a wonderful and unique opportunity to the students to appear for number of
companies in a single day. Recruiters and students interacted on one-to-one basis.
Around 180 students participated and 1,000 interviews were conducted. Some companies
were so impressed with the candidates that they were given on the spot job offer and were asked
to join immediately.

CKSVIM signed an MoU with National Stock Exchange India Limited, Mumbai on 3rd May 2016.
CKSVIM will offer various courses of NSE and conduct workshops / seminars in collaboration with
NSE in the area of finance and securities market. The Institute will also act as an examination
centre for the courses of NSE.
The MoU was signed by Ms. Bhawika Wanchoo, Chief Manager NSE and Dr. Rajesh Khajuria,
Director, CKSVIM.

2. Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) - Young India (Yi) - 2nd May 2016
Memorandum of Understanding is signed for one year at CKSVIM by Dr. Rajesh Khajuria,
Director, Mr. Satyen Gandhi, Yi Yuva Chair; Ms. Toshita Dharmadhikari, Yi Yuva Co-Chair and
Mr. Hamza Adenwala, Yi Executive Member.
To influence, inspire and motivate millions of students across the country, Yi will work with
CKSVIM by forming a Yi Chaupal.

Academic Trip to Europe: Slovenia, Germany, Poland and The United Nations in
Geneva
(International Education, Lectures, Research, Collaboration and MOUs)
“Academic Trip to EUROPE by Prof. Dr. Rajesh Khajuria, Dean, Faculty of Management and
Chair, Global MBA Program, Gujarat Technological University - May 6 to June 2, 2016”.
After spending 4 hectic weeks touring 7 universities in Slovenia, Germany, Poland, and The
United Nations in Geneva (Switzerland), Dr. Rajesh Khajuria returned with exciting relationships
and collaborations, thus opening doors to international education right here in Vadodara, for
Gujarat, for India. He represented as Dean, GTU, Ahmedabad and Director, CKSVIM, Vadodara,
managed by Shri Mahavir Jain Vidyalaya, a 100 year Trust operating from Mumbai.
He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the esteemed and ever supporting SMJV Trust for giving
an opportunity to visit various universities in Europe, and to visionary and dynamic Dr. Akshai
Aggarwal, Vice Chancellor, Gujarat Technological University for support and encouragement.
Special thanks to Hon. Pro. Vasuben Trivedi, Minister of State Women & Child Welfare
(Independent Charge) Higher and Technical Education, Government of Gujarat for writing a
special Letter of Best Wishes.
Following Government Universities in Europe, opening their doors to internationalization of
education, invited Dr. Khajuria as an International Scholar in Management / Business
Education during May 6 to June 2, 2016 on four weeks academic visit.
1) University of Maribor, Slovenia – International Week with 15 European Universities, MOU
with GTU in 2013 and with CKSVIM in 2014.
2) DHBW Cooperative State University, Stuttgart, Germany – MOU with GTU in 2013,
Exchange with CKSVIM.
3) DHBW Cooperative State University, Heilbronn, Germany – First visit from CKSVIM-GTU.

Starting with Meditation, highly appreciated by the European Students and Professors in each of
the lectures and seminars delivered, Dr. Rajesh Khajuria delivered lectures and presentations
at the above mentioned Universities in Slovenia, Germany and Poland on 1) “Business Ethics,
Governance, Sustainability and Principles of Responsible Management Education
(PRME)”, with a Case Study on TATA Group of Companies, India and 2) “Doing Business
with India.”
PURPOSE
The purpose was to strengthen the Academic Collaborations, share Indian wisdom and
knowledge, learn from European professors, and build new Collaborations between Gujarat
Technological University (GTU) / C. K. Shah Vijapurwala Institute of Management
(CKSVIM), Gujarat, INDIA, and some of the leading European Universities cited above, leading
to internationalization of Education in general and MBA program in particular, for teachers’
and students’ success. “We firmly believe in Indian Education with Global Perspective and
Cooperation”, said Dr. Khajuria.
OUTCOME - Valuable and Long Term
An initiative for deeper cultural, academic and business exchange, the outcome was a
mutually agreed decision-tree between Dr. Rajesh Khajuia (GTU – CKSVIM) and the
Chancellor / Rector / Dean / Professors of 6 European Universities - to move ahead with
Student and Faculty Exchange Program. Now, International Study Tour may be organized for two
weeks where 10-15 GTU-CKSVIM MBA students with one or two faculties can participate.
Also our select few MBA students can study for a full Semester-III in these European
Universities with mutual cooperation and exchange of students and professors.
Business Informatics, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Intercultural Management,
Manufacturing Management, WTO, SME Management, International Trade and Startups are
some of the emerging business education subjects, and offer great opportunities for MBAs to
learn, practice skills and get into business / entrepreneurship / innovation or jobs.
Universities of Europe also showed keen interest to do Joint Research Projects with faculties
and students of GTU – CKSVIM.

GERMANY: Highly Industrialised country of meticulous perfection, Audi, Mercedes,
VolksWagon and Porshe Cars
Invited, hosted and facilitated by Prof. Dr. Augenstein and Dr. Ramesh Shah, new opportunity
is developed for GTU-MBA students study tour for 15 days, and Summer Internship Project for 4-
6 weeks at DHBW Stuttgart and Heilbronn. Dr. Khajuria experienced a new model of Dual
Education system in DHBW State Cooperative University in Germany, where students study
3 months in university and work 3 months in business or industry in every semester from first to
last. 100% Students get jobs from day 1 of joining the university. DHBW has 1200 business
partners. CKSVIM has 100 business partners for 200 MBA students. This Dual Education
Model is recommended for GTU, Gujarat and India to improve India’s Management and
Technical Education System, said Dr. Khajuria.
Prof. Dr. Charles Savage, living in Munich and a Visiting Professor to GTU-MBA program,
specially travelled to conduct a meeting with Dr. Khajuria in Stuttgart Hotel for improvisation of
GTU-MBA Program with the latest subjects like Indian Wisdom, Industry 4.0 and Agriculture
4.0.

Dr. Khajuria visited the United Nations in Geneva (Switzerland) to continue and strengthen
CKSVIM Agreement of 2013 with International Trade Centre, World Trade Organization (ITC-
WTO) under which CKSVIM teaches a special course on “WTO and its Impact on Business
and Industry”, approved by GTU. Thanks to Mr. Vinod Rege and Dr. Raj Bhandari, both
Former Directors of ITC, WTO, who facilitated various meetings. He interacted with Dr. Ashish
Shah, Director (Country Programs) and Dr. Raj Agrawal, Director, ITC, Ms. Susana Oliveres

Prof. Dr. D. Zajac, Chancellor of this Government Polish University. Another MOU was signed
with Prof. Janusz Swierkocki, Pro Dean and Prof. Dr. Marian Niedzwiedzinski, Lords
University, Lords, Poland. Dean Prof. Zofia Wiszkowska; Prof. Arcadiusz Januszewski,
Vice- Dean for Science and Dr Małgorzata Zajdel – Vice-Dean for Students Affairs, of UTP

Visit of Prof. Dr. Andreas Hausotter, University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Hannover,
Germany.
Prof. Dr. Andreas Hausotter, Departmental International Coordinator, Department of
Business Information Systems, University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Hannover,
Germany, visited CKSVIM on 23rd February 2016 and met Dr. Rajesh Khajuria, Director,
CKSVIM and faculty members.
INDO – GERMAN Student Exchange Program
A delegation of 10 German Students studying Business Management, along with Prof. Dr.
Ramesh Shah, Ms. Prof. Dr Beate Sieger-Hanus, and Mr. Prof. Dr Jan Breitweg from Daule
Hochschule Baden - Wurttemberg (DHBW), Stuttgart, Germany visited CKSVIM Vadodara,
GTU Ahmedabad and NICM Gandhinagar for two weeks from 1st to 15th February 2016.
This was the third batch of German students from the same university. German students were
taught by our Indian Professors, subjects like: Finance & Banking System in India, HRM &
Education System in India, ‘Make in India’ concept and the Economy of India.

Internship Program at Hochschule Wismar University, Germany under GTU's International
Experience Program 2016.

National Management Week 2015
CKSVIM successfully celebrated the AIMS National Management Week from 1st to 7th August
2015 organized by Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) across colleges imparting
management education in the country.
CKSVIM has been awarded a "AIMS National Management Week Community" Gold Medal
and a Certificate at 27th AIMS Annual Management Education Convention 2015 held at Shri

Yoga Day
Yoga Day was celebrated at CKSVIM on 21st June 2016. Students, faculty and staff members
performed YOGA enthusiastically. The Yoga session was conducted by Ms. Kiran Daswani,
student of Batch V, CKSVIM.
T-Shirt Signing Day
The last day of the college was celebrated by signing T- Shirts, by Batch 6 students on 10th June
2016. Students wrote messages and comments on each other tshirts.
Even the staff and faculty members wrote messages on students tshirts. This day was celebrated
to cherish the exciting memories of the college life.
Teachers' Day
Batch VI and VII students organized Teacher's Day on 5th September 2015.
The teachers were honored with red roses and captivating messages to convey our love and
gratitude, making the event special and memorable.
CII Yi Yuva Leadership Camp
The camp was scheduled between 19th to 21st February 2016 at Kanha, Jabalpur.
The students participated in leadership activities such as:
1 Team Building.
2 Nature Save Theme Skit performance in Team.
3 Chart making by delivering the message of conserving trees, forests, water and wildlife.
4 Raft making with natural scrap.

Adventure trip to Dalhousie
Adventurous trip to Dalhousie was organized for Batch 6 students from 14th to 23rd February
2016. 63 students along with one faculty members joined this trip. This trip gave students and
faculty members a very thrilling experience of rock climbing, walking in the forest, crossing the
river, and rappelling.
"Food Zone" - A Food Fair
The "Food Zone" project as a part of ‘Project Management’ subject was organized on 4th March
2016, which included Food Stalls having various tempting options for students like Panipuri, Sev
Khamani, Brownie with Ice-cream, Grapes Juice, Monaco Topping & many more such delicious
items. Students managed to cook food by themselves & sell it.

"Matki-Fod" ceremony was celebrated by the students on 4th September 2015.
Jeevdaya (Kindness) by Students: Impact of Jain Philosophy
● Blood Donation Camp along with Thalassemia test was organized on Wednesday, 5th
August 2015. The camp was organized in association with Indu- blood bank, Jeevan
Akshay Charitable Trust and Bharatiya Jain Sangathan Vadodara Branch. 40 units
of blood was collected and 57 students have provided blood sample for Thalassemia
test.
● Visit to government schools namely Geeta Mandir Vidhyalaya, R.N.K Pandya (Girls
School), and Anupam Vidhyalay, on 2nd August 2015 to teach “The Importance of
English and Mathematics" in daily life.
● Visit to slum areas of Vadodara namely Tulsiwadi and Bhimnath Bridge on 2nd August
2015. The students made an effort to make people aware about the importance of
hygiene, especially how to filter the water and drink filtered water.
● Visit to ‘Vrudhashram’, an old age home on 2nd August 2015.
● Visit to Jeevdaya- Sumeru Panjarapole on 3rd August 2016. The students and faculty
on behalf of the institute donated Rs. 6601/- for the noble cause.
● Visit to Sir Sayaji Rao General Hospital (SSG), Vadodara on 3rd August 2015.
Students distributed 100 packets of Parle G biscuits among the patients and their
families and also donated 2 Air Beds to the orthopedic department of hospital.
● Visit to Shram Mandir, Sindhrot - hospital for leprosy patient on 4th August 2015.
Students distributed 500 packets of Parle-G biscuits among the beloved leprosy victims
of ashram.
● Visit to “Lions Club Blind School” for girls on 4th August 2015. Students donated eight
chargeable cells along with charger which is useful to blind girls for their musical
instruments and also distributed packets of various girls’ accessories which brought
beautiful smile on their faces.

● CKSVIM Centre for Marketing & Industry Skills Development Centre organized a 6th
Leadership Talk by Mr. J. Raghunath, Business Head, Polyester Filament Yarn, Reliance
Industries Ltd, Mumbai on "Employability and Marketing Skills for MBAs" on 2nd

October 2015. The interactive talk was attended by all students and faculty members. Mr.
Raghunath presented a Skills Matrix for employee development, which was later
adopted by CKSVIM to develop a Career Management System (CAS) for our MBA
students.
Workshops / Conferences / Seminars
● A three day seminar on "Empowerment of Girls Mission" is organized by Shree Samast
Rajasthan Jain Samaj, Vadodara in association with CKSVIM from 12th to 14th June
2015 at CKSVIM Campus. Around 50 Rajasthani girls participated.
● ACBSP, USA, Region 10 (South Asia) with support and sponsorship of CKSVIM
Business School, Vadodara (promoted by SMJV Trust, Mumbai) organized an
Interactive meet with the Industry and business leaders with the objective of Industry-
Academia Partnership (IIP) for improvement of higher education especially in the field of
management education. The meet was organized on 22nd Aug 2015 with the theme
"Creating new knowledge in the classroom".
The program was organized in collaboration with Standards for Educational Advancement
& Accreditation (SEAA) Trust, New Delhi and industry associations namely CII, CII-Yi,
VCCI, FGI, and ISTD. The program saw an overwhelming participation from 50 business
and industry leaders of Central Gujarat State, 50 MBA students and 30 faculty and staff
members (total 130 participants).
● Higher Education Forum (HEF) Gujarat Chapter in collaboration with CKSVIM
Business School successfully organized the 3rd Regional Conference on “Bringing
New Knowledge in the Classroom” on 31st October 2015.
The Knowledge Partners for the Conference were Accreditation Council of Business
Schools & Programs (ACBSP), USA; Venture Studio – Ahmedabad University, Vadodara
Innovation Council (VIC), Vadodara Chamber of Commerce & Industries (VCCI),
Confederation of Indian Industries – Young Indians (CII-Yi), Indian Society for Training &
Development (ISTD) and Standards for Educational Advancement & Accreditation
(SEAA), New Delhi.
● The 5th International Conference on ‘Impact of Business Ethics, Governance and
CSR on Society', organized by GTU - Post Graduate Centre of Business Ethics & CSR
, Ahmedabad, in collaboration with SMJV’s CKSV Institute of Management, Vadodara
on February 5-6, 2016 at GTU Chandkheda Campus, Ahmedabad, India.
● A Workshop on CREATIVITY.. INNOVATION..ENTREPRENEURSHIP was conducted
by Ms. Parul Daftari, an entrepreneur on 4th January 2016.
● CII-Yi in association with CKSVIM Business School organised a panel discussion on the
