Formula Air is an international organisation that specialises in solutions for industrial dust extraction, filtration and ventilation. With the right expertise, ready-to-use techniques and innovations, we focus on optimising the environment you work and live in.

We operate through decentralised sales offices in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Lithuania and export our products throughout Europe. We also have production sites in the Netherlands, Vietnam and Lithuania.

Distribution is from our own central warehouse in Belgium. With a surface area of 5,000 m2 and an average stock of 50,000 units we won’t keep you waiting when you need a solution.

The ducting and distribution systems in this catalogue are used in a wide variety of applications, for instance, in the automotive industry, in ventilation and extraction systems, in biologic filter systems, in the chemical industry, in the grain and feed processing, in the food industry, in the pharmaceuticals industry and in environmental technology.

You will find a standard assortment of steel (powdercoated or galvanized) and stainless steel pipes, pipe components and distribution systems with diameters ranging from 80 to 600 mm as well as the corresponding pipe connector elements. Besides our catalogue products, we are also able to provide customized products in response to customer requests.

General information

1. MaterialsSteel 1.0330 / Stainless steel 1.4301Other qualities on request.

2. Material surfaceSteel: Powder coated, colour shade RAL 7032. Physiologically unharmful to foodstuffs, electrostatically conductive.Other RAL colours against extra charge 9% on gross pricelist (no discount) and unique setup costs € 40,90.Stainless steel: surface blasted. Pickled and passivated as well as electropolished on request against extra charge.

3. TolerancesDimensions and tolerances of the flange edge for clamping ring connection: 6 mm lip ± 1 mm. Tube diameter and roundness according to DIN EN 10296-1:2004-02. Tolerances for linear and angular dimensions according to DIN ISO 2768 part 1, tolerance class V. For segments and transitions: angle tolerance ± 1°.

4. Tension rings with sealsFor pressureless transporting and dust exhausting pipelines of 1 - 3 mm wall thickness and 80 - 600 mm diameter.

5. Tension rings with flanged gasketsFor transport- and aspiration pipelines, and for comparable pipe-lines of 1 - 3 mm wall thickness and 80 - 300 mm diameter. In case of doubt please inquire about admissible pressure ranges for connections and scope of application for flanged gaskets and seals.

6. Fixed and loose flangesPipelines with flanges to DIN are supplied with 1 - 3 mm wall thickness and with diameters of 80 - 1200 mm.

7. Special componentsExhaust hoods, containers and piping elements to special dimensions, and particular watertightness requirements for gates and valves; quotation on request.Lining of components with non-wearing materials; quotation on request.

8. Bearing bushingsFor trap valves, pipe throttle valves etc. to standard design, without special sealing of the shaft. For specific applications such as ‘dust-tight version’ we supply:• V-rings, O-rings and sealing rings• Ball-bearings with radial rotary shaft sealsOn request, against extra charge.

9. Changeover bracketsOur manually operated gates and throttle valves etc. are partially equipped with operating elements permitting changeover to pneumatic or electromotive operation.Quotations for these units, the mounting of which requiring neither cutting nor welding, supplied on request.

10. Weatherproof versionsElectrically and pneumatically operated components are designed for internal use only. Additional weatherproof versions enlarge the scope af application for external use.On request, against extra charge.

11. Oil fillingsSuitable for central european climatic conditions. Extremely high or low temperature locations require corresponding oil fillings.Please state requirement with order.

12. Electric versionApplied components meet the IP 54 protector requirement.Extra charge for other types of protector and EX-protected versions available on request.

13. Earthing unitsFor electrostatic conductance. On request, against extra charge.

14. Installation and movement instructions for rotary distributor heads, dust-tight rotary distributor heads and rotational pipe switchesThe top funnel has three lugs for transportation purposes.Securement and/or installation by means of the flanges on the upper and lower funnel only.Distributor housing not to be weighted.

15. Fields of applicationValves and gates in standard version are only of limited suitability for application in areas where mixtures can arise.

What is wear protection?• Wear protection helps improve the resistance to wear and thus

prolongs the service life of pipe components.• The resistance of wear of the special polyurethane used is 15 to 20

times higher than that of steel according to the manufacturer‘s figures.• Special polyurethane panels are fixed to the inner walls of pipe

components, for example, as a wear protection lining.
