I am glad to release the AIMS eNewsletter, Vol.4, No.4, covering the events of AIMS and its

Member Institutes that took place during the months of March and April 2019 for your

perusal.

During the period under coverage, AIMS and MDI Gurgaon have come together to

jointly initiate a “National Programme for Excellence in Teaching and Student Evaluation

EASTERN REGION ASIAN SCHOOL OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT BHUBANESWAR

12th Annual Convocation of ASBM

ASBM organised its 12th Annual Convocation in its campus on 6th April, 2019.

Dr Ashok Dalwai, IAS, Chief Executive Officer, National Rainfed Area Authority graced

the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his convocation address, he said that it is not

necessary that only organisations and institutions have their vision and mission

statements. Every individual should have a vision, a mission, well-defined goals and

objectives in their life. He advised the students to adhere to the value system and to

inculcate valuable traits like ability to work hard, seeking an opportunity in every

challenge, readiness to fail, etc to succeed in life.

Chairman of ASBM Board of Governors Mr Ravindra Chamaria, the Chairman, Infinity

Group presided over the event. Sharing his words of wisdom, he addressed the

students as beneficiaries of a world where opportunities and trends are global and

where information is available at finger tips. He further advised the students to learn

from failure since failure is simply the opportunity to begin again and to carve out the

path of success out of failure.

Prof (Dr) Biswajeet Pattanaya, Founder and Director of ASBM, presented the annual

report of the institute. While sharing his valuable words with the graduating students, he

said that leadership is the most important element in all aspects of life – be it business,

be it politics, be it administration, be it society or be it even one’s own family. Quoting

Ken Blanchard he said that “The key to successful leadership today is influence, not

authority”. He advised the students to have strong belief in their inner potential and to

stay happy and influence the world around them to make it a happy place.

On this momentous occasion, ASBM Award for Excellence for the year 2018 was

conferred on Prof Damodar Acharya. While Saswat Upadhyaya, the student of PGDM

2017-19 batch was awarded the Infinity Gold Medal as the ‘Best Student’ in academics,

Kameswar Lenka bagged the Director’s Gold Medal, sponsored by State Bank of India,

as the ‘Best All-rounder’ student.

WESTERN REGION SHRI VAISHNAV VIDYAPEETH VISHWAVIDYALAYA INDORE

Navarachanaa-2019 Two days National Project Competition

(1st and 2nd March 2019)

SVVV conducted a two days National Project Competition “Navrachanaa 2019” on

1st and 2nd March. In this competition, 59 teams have participated under seven themes

and one side event and presented their projects from all over the country. The winning

prize of the event was Rs. 21,000 for each theme.

The chief guest of the inaugural session was Shri Raj Lakhani, MD, Peri India Ltd.

Mumbai. He began his speech and took the audience with his perspective to support at

least one or two projects which the students have initiated at SVVV and take it to the

next level. He motivated students with his kind words and told about the importance of

teamwork. Shri Lakhani said, “As a team when we work with each other, that's when we

learn”. Dr Upinder Dhar, Vice Chancellor, SVVV, envisaged on the thought process

which includes learning, teaching and processing ,which are the cornerstones of any

academic institution. He emphasized on the project learning method and said, “This

method can take students beyond the wall of classroom”. He gave three basic

advantages of project method -- It gives practical exposure, enables fast learning and

one gets an opportunity to develop social skill. D. Saurabh Jain, Convener of the event

explained about the different themes of the event along with what's in there for the

students and accentuated on the prime focus of the event which speaks about

inspirations, innovation and discovery. Later, words of thanks was proposed by Ms

Neha Maheshwari, Co-Convener of the event.

The event further proceeded with students heading towards their presentation round on

7 different themes. For each category, a panel of three judges (two external) and one

internal was formed to review their performance and choose the best project for the next

round which held on the next day. In the First Theme of Skill India; the participants

presented different topics like Self Balancing Robot, Waste from Best, The Gifting

designation and so on. In the second theme of Digital India, the participants presented

their topics related to Digital Notice Board, Home Automation, MR Shopping mall etc.

Followed by its next theme of Smart City, the students gave like Smart Garbage

Collector, Online Ticket Booking App for I Bus, Smart Water Meter etc. The next theme

of Make in India showcased its subject related to Fire Car, Invention and Innovation for

our Army etc. The Fifth theme of Renewable Energy revolved around the presentation

of topics related to Solar Pond technology, Wind Power Production by Train cans etc.

Swachha Bharat Theme witnessed like Smart Dustbin, Smart Toilet, and Automobile

Waste Management etc. The Last Theme of General Category had its spotlight on the

topics like Smart Bin, Smart Trolley, Fire Bot, Earthquake - Vibration Analysis; Control

and Protective Building Frames etc. In continuation to this Project, Exhibition was also

conducted in the university Atrium to get the audience a feel on the different concepts,

the students had tried. In addition to the aforesaid activities, Real on Reel, slide

documentary event was also organized in the university auditorium which saw 4

presentations on different topics like Stunt Riding, Swachha Bharat and Religion etc.

On the second day, twenty five selected teams who got selected from the first round

presented their projects. 28 External judges were invited to judge projects that the

students had prepared. Some of the much-talked about projects on the second day

were Smartbin, Garbage Detector, Eye Remember, Crop Residues Management, Fire

Box, Smart Water Meter, Traffic Wiz, Gear Eye, Smart Parking Display, Dazzle Glass

and Shopping Assistant. The valedictory session started with welcoming the guest, Shri

Virendra Goyal, Member of IMA, Former president of IMA Indore. Co-Convener of the

event, Miss Neha Maheshwari presented a report on Navarachnaa19 and also

announced the next dates of Navarachnaa-2020 i.e., 24th and 25th April. Further, Dr

Upinder Dhar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of SVVV addressed the audience. Dr Upinder

Dhar emphasized on the importance of project method as it enhances the

implementation phase. Element of innovation matters to each team and social

camaraderie is an important aspect which fosters continuous learning.

In addition to this, a feedback round was also kept for the participants to express their

views and opinions on Navarachnaa 2019. Furthermore, Chief Guest for the event Shri

Virendra Goyal, addressed the gathering with his words of wisdom and encouraged the

youth to take risk and achieve the impossible and gave tips on how one can achieve

them. He congratulated all the participants who could make it to the second round. He

urged the students to ask questions in order to get comprehensive knowledge of their

subjects and motivated the students to become job creators rather than job seekers.

After a short while, the much awaited moment of joy arrived when the winners of the

competition were announced along with the Real On Reel Event winners. Each Team

got a cash amount of Rs.21000 along with Eklavya Award and the Mentor for each

category was also awarded Dronacharya Award. After this a word of thanks was given

by Convener of Navarachnaa 2019, Dr Saurabh Jain. Followed by this a memento was

presented to the Chief Guest Shri Virendra Goyal. The event ended with the singing of

the National Anthem.

SHRI VAISHNAV INSTITUTE OF FORENSIC SCIENCE & Shri Vaishnav School of Law

National Moot Court Competition

(13th March 2019)

A one-day National Moot Court Competition was organized by Shri Vaishnav Institute of

Forensic Science & Shri Vaishnav School of Law, SVVV on 13th march, 2019. Hon’ble

Alok Verma (Former Justice, High Court of M.P.) was Chief Guest and Judge of final

round, Dr Binayak Patnaik (Director- Shri Vaishnav Institute of Law) was Special Guest

and judge of 1st round of the competition. Dr Kavita Sharma, Convener, Mr. Anurag

Srivastava, Coordinator and Ms Mansi Trivedi was Co-Coordinator of this event.

The event was started with lamp lighting, prayer of Goddess Saraswati. After that the

invited dignitaries were welcomed by offering saplings. Justice Alok Verma, Chief Guest

of the occasion delivered inaugural address. During his address, he threw light on the

origin and history of Moot Court and said that “In forensic science law plays a vital role;

in the analysis of any case with the understanding of basic criminal laws a forensic

scientist can overcome all the barrier”. Hence, forensic science has become a more

responsible branch of education.

After inaugural session, the preliminary round of the competition was started. In the

preliminary round, a total of 10 teams from different colleges/universities participated.

The names of participant college / University are - Symbiosis School of Law, Pune;

Prestige Institute of Law, Indore; Renaissance Law College, Indore; Choitram Nursing

College, Indore; Sage University, Indore, Shri Vaishnav Institute of Forensic Science

and many more. During mooting, teams took many cases like Jacob Mathew case,

Shivaji Rao Borade, Medical Negligence case, Mahadev Prasad case and many more.

The Final round was held between two teams (one qualified team from each side). After

the final round result was declared. Team-A Petitioner (Students of Symbiosis School of

Law, Pune) were winner and Team-1 Respondent (Students of Prestige Institute of

Law) were runner-up. The winner team was awarded with cash prize of Rupees five

thousand and a trophy. After the result declaration, Justice Alok Verma answered

queries made by the participants regarding how to prepare quality memorial and how to

prepare winning arguments. Special Guest Dr Binayak Patnaik also gave tips how to

prepare best for moot competitions. Dr Kavita Sharma, Convener- National Moot Court

competition congratulated all the winners and Mr Anurag Srivastava, Coordinators -

National Moot Court Competition proposed words of thanks.

64TH ILA CONFERENCE-2019’ INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

on “Transforming Libraries and Information Centres in Digital Era’

(14th to 16th March 2019)

Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya and Indian Library Association organized its

64th annual conference on Transforming Libraries and Information centres in Digital era

during 14th to 16th March, 2019.

The main objective of the Conference was to provide a forum to the library researchers,

library professionals and teachers of library science to exchange information and

deliberate on common issues for betterment of library services in digital context.

Inaugural Session:

The Conference began with lamp lighting, and saraswati vandana and was followed by

welcome address by Dr Upinder Dhar, Vice Chancellor, SVVV. Dr GHS Naidu, Chief

Librarian, briefed the dignitaries and delegates about the achievements of ILA activities.

Prof.Shaabahat Husain, President, ILA shared the importance of global technological

development and transformation in libraries and elaborated the new libraries are

increasingly focusing on digital content collection for dissemination methods and the

users have also increased reliance on ICT tools. Dr Mohan Kherde, Director of the

Conference briefed the audience about the selection of conference theme.

The Chief Guest of the inaugural program, Dr H K Kaul, Director, DELNET addressed

the issues of digital libraries which are rapidly developing as complex information

system. He further mentioned that implementation of ICT are very essential for raising

the standards of education. He further mentioned the significant achievements of

DELNET for knowledge dissemination and development of national level digital libraries.

Keynote address was delivered by Shri Purushottamdas Pasari, Chancellor, SVVV,

where he focused on the importance and the vital role played by the libraries in

knowledge dissemination in the information technology explosion era. He shared the

potential role of Libraries for the benefits in educational endeavors and adaptation of

modern techniques in libraries to cope with new technological advances.

Dr. Pardeep Rai, General Secretary, ILA appraised ILA-2018 awards to be conferred to

LIS professionals for their outstanding contribution in the field.

ILA-Dr P S G Kumar Lifetime Achievement Award 2018 was Jointly conferred on Dr

Jagtar Singh, Professor in the Department of Library and Information Science, Punjabi

University, Patiala, Prof Amitabha Chatterjee, former Professor & Head, Department

of Library & Information Science, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, in recognition of their

distinguished services to Library and Information Profession.

The Conference proceedings were inaugurated by Honorable Shri Purushottamdas

Pasari, Chancellor, SVVV with other dignitaries’ on dais, titled 64th ILA Conference

Proceedings, International Conference on Transforming Libraries and Information

Centre in Digital Era . The Conference Proceedings contain 100 published articles

authored by 179 authors.

The inaugural session concluded with words of thanks by Sri Kamal Narayanji

Bhruadiya, Secretary, Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya. The formal vote of

thanks of the inaugural session was given by Sh Kamal Narayanji Bhuradya, Secretary,

SVVV Trust.

About Themes and Technical Sessions

The applications of ICT transformed the resources and services of the libraries

considerably. The traditional libraries are transforming to digital and virtual libraries, and

are working in cloud based environment to provide effective services to their users.

Traditional libraries are transforming into knowledge centers and their services are also

improving with the help of ICT tools. To overcome with the issues and concerns, the

conference emphasized on the Six Broader Themes and Technical Sessions and

having invited talk and discussion and deliberations on the emerging issues of following

areas:

Theme1 - Application of ICT in Library and Information Centre

Theme 2 - Digital Libraries

Theme3 - Research Ethics and Plagiarism

Theme4 - Open Access Initiatives and Open Source Software and Libraries

Theme5 - Library and Information Science Education

Theme6 - Role of Libraries in Higher Education Institutions

The technical sessions were chaired by various eminent personalities in the LIS field

Invited talks on various subject themes were delivered by various Library personalities --

some are Dr S S Kushwaha, Dr Sandeep Pathak, Dr Priya Rai, Dr Dharam Kumar and

Product Presentation by Easylib Software Private Limited.

Theme One: Application of ICT in Library and Information Centre

Library Information Communication Technology plays a key role in user’s satisfaction

and the adaptation of new technology presents a number of issues for libraries and

librarians in the process of implementation and operation part. Two sessions were held

under this theme. In both the sessions, the presenters discussed various issues on

RFID application, effect of mobile device on students’ performance, Library automation,

use of ICT in library services, Application of Artificial Intelligence in libraries, Importance

of innovation and emerging technologies in libraries and uses and services of E

Granthalya.

20 papers were received for the theme, out of which 07 papers were presented by

various library professionals.

Theme Two: Digital Libraries

The rapid advancement in the ICT have focused on various digital initiatives and

services for library and information sciences like integrated library management

software, digital repositories, library website and other digital services to the users.

Two sessions were held under this theme. In both the sessions, the presenters

discussed various issues on Digital initiatives by libraries, awareness and utilization of

e-resources, human libraries in digital era and many more.

Total 18 papers were received and published on the theme digital libraries. Out of

which 07 papers were presented during the session.

Theme Three: Research Ethics and Plagiarism

Research writing is a serious task and poses many challenges from gathering of

information to presenting in the piece of writing. Information explosion and rapid ease in

accessing and coping of information lead to highly negative consequences called

Plagiarism which is considered as a serious academic and unethical intellectual practice

of using the previous work without proper acknowledgment.

11 papers were published under the theme out of which 05 papers were presented by

the paper presenters.

Theme Four: Open Access Initiatives and Open Source Software and Libraries

Open access initiative for scholarly communication emerged as one of the important

revolutionary movement which has increased the standards of libraries by promoting

and providing free access to scholarly literature.

Two technical sessions -- six and seven -- were designed to discuss on the vibrant

theme Open Access Initiatives and Open Source Software and Libraries. During the

Session, Dr S S Kushwaha delivered invited talk on Implementation and Adoption of

ICT in Library and Information Centers. Session seven Invited talk was delivered by

Dr.Sandeep K Pathak on Innovative Library and Information Services in academic

libraries: role of Librarian. In this session 24 papers were received and published; 09

paper presenters elaborated them during the session.

Theme Five: Library and Information Science Education

Technical Sessions eight and nine were designed on the theme “Library and Information

Science Education in India. Four papers were presented during the session. Session

witnessed presentation of three research papers related to the theme.

Technical session nine -- Dr Priya Rai delivered invited talk on libraries, archives and

copyright laws: emergence and opportunities.

Theme Six: Role of Libraries in Higher Education Institutions

Technical session ten was designed to cope up with various roles of libraries supporting

higher education system. During the session, Dr Dharam Kumar delivered invited talk

on “Information Literacy in academic Libraries” Two papers were presented on general

scene of green libraries.

Valedictory session

In the Valedictory session, Prof Upinder Dhar elaborated various famous places of the

beautiful city of Indore. He expressed his gratitude to dignitaries and participants of the

Conference. Dr D V Singh, Chief Guest of the Valedictory session elaborated how

technological developments are becoming challenges for library and information

centres. He emphasized that the librarians have to play multi-faceted role in current

and future era to cope up with technological advancements and explosion of

information. Prof (Dr) Shabahat Husain, the President, ILA expressed his views about

implementation of pragmatic approach of information technology in teaching of library

and information science in university system. He pronounced that the development of a

country only depends on how its information scientists manage information system for

future developmental aspects. Dr Priya Rai, Rapportear General of the 64th ILA

Conference recited conference report in front of august gathering of library and

information professionals.

Recommendations of the Conference

o Indian Library Association should organize more and more seminar and training

programs with a view to impart more practical training for LIS professionals on

various themes on digital technology.

o Encourage Academic integrity and promote ethical issues with reference to

academic integrity among research community by organizing plagiarism

awareness program based on University Grants Commission (Promotion of

Academic Integrity and Prevention of Plagiarism in Higher Educational

Institutions) Regulations, 2018.

o Library professionals should encourage green and sustainable libraries.

During Valedictory Session, Indian Library Association conferred the Kaula Best

Librarian Award 2018 on Prof H N Prasad, University Librarian (In-charge) and

Professor, Department of Library & Information Science, Banaras Hindu University,

Varanasi.

ILA C D Sharma Award was awarded to Dr Niranjan Singh for paper entitled

“Information Resources on Health “presented during the Conference.

ILA Motiwale Award was awarded jointly to Dr Hemavathi B N, Ramya J Kumbar,

Mamatha V, Suma M C for their paper entitled “Plagiarism Awareness among Research

Scholars: A Study at Tumkur University”, presented during the Conference.

SHRI VAISHANV INSTITUTE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

KAUSHAL-2019 CSI Regional Student Convention- Region-III

(15th and 16th April 2019) The Nation-wide CSI-Convention is continuously organized by different organizations.

CSI Regional Convention is a platform for sharing ideas and expands networking for

scholars, researchers, and students from all areas of Science and Technology.

The main aim of the Regional Student Convention is to build a foundation and inspire

the young students of engineering to understand and apply the new trends in

technology. The convention targets to give a broad overview of technical fusion. It

invites students to participate in various events. As a Professional body, CSI

encourages and supports R&D Projects in various branches of Engineering and

Technology. It sponsors the Indian IT Professionals at the conferences and workshops.

This convention has 08 events which included Workshop, Research Paper & Articles,

Project contest, Seminar, Mobile App Development, Programming Contest, Technical

Quiz and Web Design Contest. The convention provides fruitful knowledge

dissemination and cultural exchange among students from various parts of the country.

Introduction

A Regional Student Convention-Region III “KAUSHAL-19”was organized on 15th -16th

April 2019 at Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya, Indore hosted by CSI, Indore

Chapter and CSI-Student Branch, SVVV Indore. Kaushal-19 is sponsored by M P

Council of Science and Technology and Computer Society of India-Head Quarter.

Convention theme was “Recent Digital Technology Advancement” whch is of great

importance because the digital technology application is transforming every walk of life.

It was our great honor and privilege to become organizer of Regional Student

Convention of Region-III. Computer Society of India Student Branch of SVVV is one of

the most active branch with a large number of student members and activities.

Inaugural Session

The Chairperson of Regional Student Convention-Region III “KAUSHAL-19”, Dr Anand

Rajavat gave a brief introduction of “KAUSHAL-19”. He detailed about all the contest

and convention theme. Dr Upinder Dhar, Vice Chancellor, SVVV welcomed the Chief

Guest, Sponsors, Judges and Participants. In his welcome address, he told about the

programs offered by Shri Vaishanv Institute of Information Technology with Industry

collaboration like IBM, Redhat, NCSSS, Cisco and Apple with recent industry

requirement on Big Data, Cloud & Mobile Computing, Enterprises System, Cyber

Security and Information System, Artificial Intelligence. He shared that the objective of

this Regional Convention is to provide a phenomenal opportunity for the students and

importance of platform of Regional Student Convention. The Chief Guest of Regional

Student Convention-Region III “KAUSHAL-19” Dr A K Nayak, National Vice President

cum President (Elect) of Computer Society of India highlighted the need for Recent

Digital Technology Advancement in Modern era. The Society needs to build an

innovative ecosystem by combining the use of this advanced technology with the best

minds across Academia, Business, Industry and Government for the overall benefit of

the common man. He explained that the futuristic researches are in Machine Learning,

Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, IOT & IOE. He encouraged students to focus on all

On the Second day of the Regional Student Convention-Region III “KAUSHAL-19”. Iin

Prakash, Convener of Regional Student Convention-Region III “KAUSHAL-19” informed

that cash prizes of Fifty thousand rupees were distributed to the winners and also to

runner up teams as well as total Fifty thousand rupees in form of vouchers & coupons

were distributed to the winners and also to runner up teams. At the end, the words of

thanks were proposed by Dr Anand Rajavat, Chairperson – KAUSHAL 2019.

Technical Seminar

On First day of Convention, Seminars on Recent Digital Technology Advancement

given by TCS Expert Mr Ashish Gangele. He Conducted a session on Java Web

Application Frameworks, Application Architecture, Single Page Application in Java

Phase 1- Angular Js and Phase 2- Angular 5 with Nodejs. DevOps and CICD.Approx

200 Students attended the technical Seminar.

Research Publications & Articles

On First day of Convention, total 32 Research Papers and Articles were submitted. In

this event, participants presented Research Publications and Articles.

Senior Professors and industrialist from renowned organizations reviewed the research

quiz was restricted to information and communication technology, and computer

science discipline. This event primarily focused on the participant’s ability to give correct

answers of all the given questions during the limited period of time. Mr Anurag Agrawal,

Project Contest

On First day of the Convention, total 44 Participants participated in Project Contest. In

this event UG/PG students had to present their project along with running code. The

project presentation must primarily focus on Innovative approach, Technical expertise,

Benefits for the development of society, Applications and real-time wide usage of the

project.

A senior professor and an industrialist from a renowned organization acted as Judges

On First day of the Convention, total 20 Participants participated in Technical

‘UDHYAMITA’ One day Entrepreneurship Conclave

(March 19, 2019)

Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya, Indore organized one day Entrepreneurship

Conclave ‘UDHYAMITA 2019’ on March 19, 2019. The theme of this conclave was

‘Fostering Entrepreneurship for Creation of Business and Employment’. The Chief

Guest of the conclave was Mr. Prem Tiwari, Unit Head, Grasim Industries Limited

(Chemicals Division), Nagda.

In the inaugural ceremony, Dr. T K Mandal, Convener Udhyamita 2019 informed about

the program and said that Udhyamita is an endeavor which is aimed at sharing the

wisdom of successful entrepreneurs. Since employability is becoming more and more

challenging, an entrepreneur can not only earn for himself or herself, but also generate

employment for others. The experience shared by the invited speakers would be

beneficial to the budding entrepreneurs for setting up new ventures and in making a

difference in organizations. Dr Upinder Dhar, Honorable Vice Chancellor, SVVV, shared

the aim of Udhyamita which is to inspire young generation. He said that enthusiasm,

need identification, risk taking, endurance, passion, innovation, vision, self efficacy and

self monitoring are few characteristics needed to become a good entrepreneur. The

Special Guest Mr. S. Suresh Babuji, Director In-Charge MSME Development Institute,

Indore addressed the gathering and focused on the Indian job scenario. He said,

“Getting a job is nearly impossible but the process of creating new ventures, especially

in MSME is gaining momentum. We have to take risk in entrepreneurship. Governments

are also taking concrete steps to develop entrepreneurship”. Chief Guest Mr. Prem

Tiwari shared his views and said that an entrepreneur should be a leader and that he

needs imagination and courage to take risk. Entrepreneurship consists of three things,

entrepreneur, process and framework. Entrepreneurship is never measured in profit; it

is measured on how much impact you have made in society.”

3rd Vikram Sarabhai Memorial Centenary Oration by

Padmashri Dr. Dipankar Chatterji, Eminent Indian molecular biologist and Honorary Professor at Molecular Biophysics Unit, IISC (Indian Institute of Science) Bangalore

(March 27, 2019)

The Third Vikram Sarabhai Memorial Centenary Oration was organized at SVVV on

Wednesday 27th March 2019, in the University auditorium. Padma Shri Dr. Dipankar

Chatterji, Eminent Indian molecular biologist and Honorary Professor at Molecular

Biophysics Unit, IISC (Indian Institute of Science), Bangalore was the chief guest of the

event. Dr. Dipankar Chatterji was welcomed by the Chancellor of the University Shri

Purushottamdas Pasari. In the welcome address, Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr.

Upinder Dhar underlined the great contributions of Science and Indian Scientists. He

threw light on the contributions of father of Space Program Vikram Sarabhai who gave

direction to the creation and cultivation of institutions like ISRO (Indian Space Research

Organization), PRL (Physical Research Laboratory), IIM (Indian Institute of

Management) and many more. He also talked about the Orations done at SVVV, like

Aryabhata, Ramanujan, and C.V. Raman. Honourable Chancellor of SVVV Shri

Purushottam Das Pasari spoke about the university and the contributions made by the

Indian scientist from ancient time to modern time.

Coordinator of the event, Dr. Uttam Sharma readout citation of Dr. Dipankar Chatterji

which put light on his contributions and achievements in the field of Science (Molecular

Biophysics). Dr. Dipankar Chatterji is J. C. Bose National Fellow, Homi Bhabha Fellow,

Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences , The World Academy of Sciences, Indian

National Science Academy and the National Academy of Sciences, India. He is the

recipient of Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar prize, and Millennium Gold Medal and Ranbaxy

Research Award. He is known for his pioneering research on bacterial transcription. His

research areas are regulation of gene expression in prokaryotes; Structure-function

relationship in RNA polymerase from E. coli and Mycobacteria. The Government of

India recognized him with the fourth highest civilian honour - the Padma Shri in 2016,

for his contributions to science and engineering. Before the oration Dr. Dipankar

Chatterji was facilitated by citation, memento, shawl, shrifal by the Chancellor of the

University Shri Purushottamdas Pasari, Vice Chancellor Dr. Upinder Dhar and

Secretary Vaishnav Vidyapeeth trust Shri Kamalnarayan Bhuradiya.

Dr. Chatterji talked on the topic " Indiscriminate use of Antibiotics: A Ticking Time

Bomb", Dr. Dipankar Chatterji started his deliberation by saying the fact that, "Scientist

live by his modesty”. He threw light on the major contributions of Watson and Crick’s

DNA double helical model, and the central dogma in recent times and its controversies.

He explained the statistical growth of bacterial infection as per the amount of antibiotics

given to the patient. He stressed on the indiscriminate use of antibiotics which is acting

as a ticking time bomb which remains in the hibernation period and reactivates soon

after which he further said “winning by waiting”. He emphasized about the drastic

consequences of not following or abiding the prescribed dosage of antibiotics by the

physician which further leads to the mutation of micro-bacteria in the body as it

becomes the storehouse of the same. He also made the audience aware about the

targets, modes of action, the timeline of antibiotic resistance and finally how will a post

antibiotic era in which common infections and minor injuries can kill-far from being an

apocalyptic fantasy, instead a very real possibility for the 21st Century. At the end of the

deliberation, while answering the questions, he also emphasized on the role of

Ayurveda for the micro bacterial remedy.

At the end Words of thanks were delivered by the secretary Vaishnav Vidyapeeth trust

Shri Kamalnarayan Bhuradiya. The oration was attended by Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth

Trustees, HoIs, HODs and Coordinator of SVVV along with the students and Staff

members, Scientists, Professors, PG Students of different institute of the city. After the

event, Dr. Chatterji visited the Centre of excellence in Plasma Research and

appreciated the research work carried out by Dr. Uttam Sharma and team and put his

remarks on the visiting book.

Third Conference for Doctoral Students SHODH – 2019

(March 29, 2019) “Necessity is the mother of all Invention”

Nobody can challenge the importance of invention and innovation in present scenario

for the socio- economic and technological development. The civilization over the

centuries has been marked by countless inventions and innovations and that has

facilitated mankind from time to time to improve the quality life. In lieu of this, the theme

of 3rd Doctoral Conference Shodh-2019 was “Innovation, Invention &Industrialization

:Emerging Issues” organized on March 29, 2019.

The conference aimed to facilitate budding researchers in improving their analytical

skills, enhance their knowledge, build a network and get suggestions and guidance from

the experts and researchers in their area of interest and thereby contribute to the

existing body of knowledge. The conference had an overwhelming response as 95

abstracts were submitted by the research scholars from various fields. Total 79

participants had registered for the conference.

Inaugural session began with auspicious lamp lighting along with the prayer of Maa

Saraswati to seek the blessings.

Dr Santosh Dhar, Dean, Faculty of Doctoral Studies and Convener, Shodh - 2019 while

introducing the Doctoral Conference said that, the aim of any institution of higher

learning should be to actively support research as a part of training. Empirical research

is mandatory to overcome global challenges. It is important to realize that the research

process is cyclic and iterative. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, DrUpinderDhar welcomed the

guest and august gathering and in his welcome address, he highlighted the aim of this

unique conference. He said that Doctoral Conference is the learning platform. Scholars

can learn from each other and it is an opportunity to get the right direction for quality

research which is essential for quality research.

The ISBN Book – Innovation, Invention & Industrialization: Emerging Issues and

souvenir – SARANSH-2019 were released by the dignitaries on the occasion.

The Chief Guest on the occasion, Honorable, Dr. AshaShukla, Vice Chancellor, Dr. B.

R. Ambedkar University of Social Sciences, Mhow, explained the exact meaning of

research by sharing some real cases like Child trafficking, Child Sex Trafficking Child

Commercial Sex Trafficking etc. which were handled by her. The inaugural session

concluded with Dr. Monica Sainy, conference Co-convener proposing words of thanks.

Selected papersin various disciplines like Science, Technology, Forensic Science,

Management, Social Sciences & Humanities were presented by the research scholars

in 2 technical and 5 concurrent sessions.

Technical Session I was on Management, Social Sciences & Humanities which was

chaired by Dr. MayankSaxena and co-chaired by Dr. T.K Mandal. The rapporteur of

this session was Dr. Namrata Jain. The takeaways of this session were that

properresearch methodology should be adopted by researches while doing their

research work. Otherwise of the whole researchoutcome process would not be genuine.

Concurrent Session I was on Technology.Dr. UrijitaThakkar and Dr. AnandRajavat

were the chair and the co- chair of this session respectively. Papers were presented on

data classifier, flood hazard mapping, big data in wireless communication, performance

optimization of general purpose graphics processing unit and fixed point theorems.

Therapporteur was Rupali Bhartiya. Some inputs were given by the chair and co-

chairperson on how the papers can be enriched to be of utility to the society.

Concurrent Session II was on Forensic Science. Papers were presented in diverse

field of Forensic science. The takeaways were that FTIR is prominent technique for

identifying counterfeit drugs of Botanical origin. Handwriting can be correlated with

personality traits. Method of extraction of Dhatura alkaloid beauty of Micellar Liquid

Chromatography was explained. Dr.MadhaviVerma chaired the session and Dr. M.P.

Gautam was co-chair .The rapporteurof this session was Dr. Aarti Sharma.

Technical Session II was on Management, Social Sciences & Humanities chaired by

Dr. SangeetaJain and co chaired by Dr.RajeevShukla. Concluding remarks ofthe

chairperson was that the book reading facilitates in conceptual clarity but research has

to go beyond understanding to the analysis and creating of something that is new. Dr.

SwatiOza was the rapporteur of that session.

Concurrent Session III was also on Management, Social Sciences & Humanities.The

session was chaired by Dr. D.T.Manwaniand co- chaired by Dr.GeorgeThomas. The

main remark of chairperson of this session was that scholars should follow certain

protocol when they write research papers. Even they should focus more on originality of

the work. Dr. ShwetaAgrawal was the rapporteur of the session.

Concurrent Session IV was on Technology. The session was chaired by Dr. Verma

and co- chaired by Dr. NamitGupta. In this session chairperson appreciated the various

domains of research undertaken by the scholars. He also emphasized that topics

should be chosen for research which are relevant for the society. Dr. ShamayitaPatra

was the rapporteur of the session.

Concurrent Session V was on Science. The session was chaired by Dr.

SwagataGuptaand co- chaired by Dr. K.NGuruprasad. Papers were presented in the

areas of Mathematics, Chemistry and Life Science. Dr. ShwetaMishra was the

rapporteur.

The conference concluded with the Valedictory Session.The report of the

conference was presented in this session by Conference co-convener Dr. Swati

Dubey Mishra which was followed by the feedback from the participants. The

Brochure of Fourth Doctoral Conference SHODH-2020 was also released on the

occasion.

TEXCON - 2019 Second National Conference

(4th and 5th April 2019) 2nd National Conference Texcon-2019 was organised on 4th and 5th April, 2019 with a

theme of Textile Industry and Research in 2030: Challenges and Opportunities

organised by Shri Vaishnav Institute of Textile Technology of SVVV University at

SVVV Campus with a support of DRDO. The conference was having oral as well as

poster presentation.

The program was inaugurated on 4th April, 2019 at 10.30 am by the Chief Guest Shri

S.K. Chaudhary, Chairman of Pratibha Syntex Limited and Guests of Honour Shri S.

Pal, Director (Bhopal Operation) of Vardhman Textiles and Shri Harish Chatterjee, Vice

President Manufacturing of Raymond India Limited. Honorable Chancellor, Vice

Chancellor of Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya, Honorary Secretary of Shri

Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Trust graced the occasion with their presence. Other dignitaries

from academic institutes, industry and professional bodies of textile fraternity were also

present on this occasion. The book of papers was released by the dignitaries on dice.

Chief Guest Shri S. K. Chaudhary was felicitated by the Honorable Chancellor of SVVV

The conference was supported by DRDO, MCX India and TAI MP Unit. The news of

conference was also covered by all the leading newspapers with pre and post press

release.

Valedictory session was conducted on 5th April 2019 at 4.00 pm with the presence of

Chief Guest Shri D. K. Mittal, President Maral Overseas Limited, Dhamnod, Guest of

Honour Mr. Pranav Parashar, Officer In-charge, Regional Textile Commissioner Office,

Indore, Honorable Vice Chancellor of SVVV and other dignitaries from SVITT. Summary

report of the conference was presented by Chairman of the conference TEXCON-2019

followed by speech of Vice Chancellor SVVV, Guest of Honour and then Chief Guest.

The brochure of next conference of TEXCON-2020 was also released with conference

theme of “Contemporary Issues in Textile Manufacturing Process from Fiber to

Garment”, which will be held on 5th & 6th March, 2020. Vote of thanks was given by

Conference Secretary. The program was ended with National anthem and followed by

High Tea.
