National Webinar on “A Gendered Past: The Epistemological problems in the
Writings of History” arranged in History department. Dr. S. Jeevanandam, Assistant
Professor, Department of History, Sikkim University, Gangtok- Sikkim gave a talk on
feminism, the position of women in past ages, problems faced by a gendered past in
Historical writings. 202 participants benefitted from this webinar.

Online Webinar on “Women Entrepreneurship” attended by the students and faculty
of the History department through Google meet. Dr.A. Shyla Suganthi, Assistant Professor of
Zoology, Holy Cross College (Autonomous), Nagercoil gave a talk. The students got the
ideas to start the business, cottage industries, art and craft-making, etc. It will ensure them to
earn money from various occupations.

The Department of Commerce, Holy Cross College (Autonomous), Nagercoil
organized an Endowment Lecture entitled "Breaking the Glass Ceiling”-A Gender
Sensitization Programme" on 09.01.2021at 11:00 a.m through the online platform “Google
Meet”. The Resource Person Mr. Venu Neelakandan, MBA (HRM), (Airports Authority of
India& the former president of Chennai Toastmasters Club), enlightened the participants.

The department of Physics conducted a gender equity programme on 15/02/2021. 45
students from III B.Sc participated in it. This programme inculcated the importance of gender

Endowment Lecture on “Gastrointestinal problems in Women” was organized by the
Department of Zoology on 16.02.2021. Dr. S. Antony Selvi, Professor & Head,
Department of Physiology, Raja‟s Dental College & Hospital, Raja's Medical
Institutions, Kavalkinaru JN, Tirunelveli District, Tamilnadu gave a talk on women
related gastrointestinal problems. The staff and students (140) participated in the
programme.

A community Organization Program was conducted by J. Asma Rajalin, the social
work trainee at Holy Cross College. The program was conducted on 22.02.2021at Vettumani.
The title of the program was “Women Rights''. It was organized in association with Rural
Uplift Centre, Parvathipuram. Mr. Christopher and Mrs. Lakshmi Devi, the project
coordinators of the Rural Uplift Centre were the resource persons of the program. Nearly 43
people participated in the program and got benefitted.

A community Organization Program was conducted by Ms. S. Neethu Nair, the social
work trainee at Holy Cross College. The program was conducted on 23.02.2021. The title of
the program was “Women Rights and Law''. It was organized in association with People‟s
Upliftment in Rural Areas (PURA). Mrs. Shanthi, the women‟s coordinator was the resource
person of the program. About 30 people participated in the program and got benefitted.

11.00 a.m. Resource Person Dr. M.L.Mini, Assistant Professor, Department of History, MKR
Government Arts College for Women, Namakkal gave a talk on “Women Empowerment
through the Ages”. 40 members participated in this meeting.

Awareness talk on Role of volunteers in protecting the girl child
On 6th
March 2021, an awareness talk was conducted by the consumer club on the title „Role
of volunteers in protecting girl child‟, to create a clear idea about the childline – 1098 and
child protection. 300 members participated in this meeting.
Resource Persons: Mrs. Beula, Protection Officer, District Child Protection Unit and
Mrs.S.Selva Jeya Palcy, Childline team member, Kottar Social Service Society.

Webinar on International Women’s Day
International Women‟s Day Celebration was organized by Consumer Club, Legal
Literacy and Human Rights Club. The students understood the various laws related to women
and knew the steps to be taken on violation of their rights. 350 students participated in this
meeting.

to the 60 I PG students of English department (Both Aided and Self) on
