Many trials were undertaken to find a better bit

for drilling various types of hardplate. Shown

below are two examples of particular success.

Figure 1 shows how a drill bit penetrated a High

Speed Steel lathe tool and Figure 2 shows its

effectiveness on a hard Chrome Steel ball

bearing with a hardness of 66 Rockwell C.

Shim holder (Ref SH1)

A pack of 25 good quality stainless shims ideal for shimming

open locks on the bench. Made to the right size and thickness,

these shims hold their shape particularly well and tend to last longer.

This tool holds curved shims without slipping. Also helps prevent

cut fingers. To loosen, simply tap the end on a hard surface.

Then, insert the shim and refit to desired length.
