Transcript of 2011 - Amazon AWS
It's your first day of freshman year- you're walking through the doors into high school. You've heard the stories about the upperclassmen that do whatever they want, and you know you're on the bottom of the ood chain. What are your goals? Maybe you'll try to avoid the seniors or
be nice to the infamous tough teachers. Flash forward to sophomore year; you're getting
your driver's license and joining more ~..., ..... 'U'rts or activities. Then it's junior
ar, time to start preparing for the future. You look for a job, visit
colleges and take the ACT te . Then before you know it, you're graduating and heading out into the d.
Starting from the time are young, we make goals. As we grow older and more ture, they will change, but what OGt~sn't is our desire to fulfill them. Sometimes reach our goals and sometimes we don't, but we always persevere. We cans say we are from Central and that is where our goals originated. So get ready l l lh£~""ause the Central Raiders are here, and we're checking in for the year.

to be highly competitive, but illness and injury
made it a struggle. The boys team had many
new members who added to their speed.
!though part of the very hard Minnesota

team had a very successful year while also having a great time. The team was disappointed when the first meet was cancelled due to snow, but they were ready to show their knowledge at the New Prague meet. Many meets took place at both New Prague and Mankato while the sub-section meet was held at Mankato State University.
The team was led by
senior captains Jenny Reed and Russel Peterson. Practices were held from 7:45
through Channel One, twice a week. These practices prepared the team for their competetive and successful meets.
This was the first time in school history that two of our Knowledge Bowl teams advanced to the Region Meet.

FFA is involved in many activities throughout the school year, and during summer break. Our officers this year were: President-Angie Esselman, Vice President-- Thomas Schneider, Secretary-- Emily Clark, Treasurer-Samantha \Vickenhauser, Reporter-- Jacob Oelfke, and Sentinel-- Matthew Ditsch. During the summer many members showed their livestock, took part in dairy judging, and took care of baby animals in the FF A Children's Barn at the Carver County Fair. Angie Esselman and l\tatthew Ditsch went on to the MN State Fair to judge general livestock.
Teamwork is a very important part of FF A. \Ve have had many teams compete throughout the school year. During September our Dairy Cattle Judging team placed 3rd and our General Livestock team placed 6th, both qualifying for state. Our Horse judging team finished 11th, and the Trap Shooting team placed 10th at the regional meet.
During November, the Poultry team fini he1
6th and the Dairy Foods team fin ished 7th, qualifying for state. In January, the Meats team finished 9th, and the Fish and \'Vildlife team finished 5th, qualifying for state.
During October, the National FFA Convention trip to Indianapolis took place. Rachel Carpenter, Danielle \Vickenhauser, and Samantha \Vickenhauser went on the trip where they toured a 3,000 cow dairy farm, saw Lady Antebellum perform, attended official FF A business sessions, and more. "It was a great experience," they said, and Samantha \Vickenhauser added, "I'm definitely going again next year!" Also during the month of October, our yearly Corn Drive took place. This event is a favorite for many FFA members. This year we made a RECORD $4,567.4 for Camp Courage. The event was hosted at Thomas Schneider's farm near Bongards, and was an enjoyable experience for all FF A members.

"We Know How to Sing" was the
phrase printed on the t-shirts for the 2010 Choir Ensemble. The main focus for the year was practice, technique, and performance. For the first time, the high school choir split into two separate choirs. The 9th graders formed their own Varsity Choir, while the 10th-12th graders remained in Concert Choir. The choirs entertained at events including the Veteran's Day Program, their annual Holiday Concert in December, and a Pop Concert in the spring. The choir and band also teamed up to perform a 24 hours of music fundraiser for their trip to Florida in the spring.
The Choir, led by elected officers President Barret Panning, Secretary Katelyn Buesgens, and Co-Treasurer's Alexis Kells and Jenny Reed, started their days with vocal warm ups. The choir challenged themselves with harder pieces including "Gloria in Excelsis" and "Requiem." They also knew how to have fun as they played games such as "Charades" or watched YouTube videos to relax after continual practice. Even though the practices were intense, the concert rehearsals were stressful, and the music was tough to memorize, the choir did a great job of performing and had a very memorable year.

In December, Mr. Hunt began
casting for the One Act, "All in the Timing." The play was actually a series of three short comedies: "Philadelphia," "Words Words, Words," and "Variations on the Death of Trotsky." There were only ten ca t members and three crew members, so everyone bonded quickly whether they wanted to or not.
There were practices four days per week and even practice over Winter break! After much rehearsing, set-building, and general goofiness, the cast packed up the set and went to the Delano Festival. There the show was performed, but
not judged. The next week wa the public performance and then subsections. Sadly, the cast tied for seventh, but everyone still had a good time.
The cast and crew of "All in the Timing" found that sometimes small casts are just as much fun as large ones. Both the cast and the audience had a "hoot" as Angie Kukacka said. Tori Johnson complimented her director saying, "I've never had a part that felt o natural." Playing a monkey can do that for you, and luckily, theatre is, "a place where nobody judges you," as Crystal Joos quipped, "Well, except for the judges!"

It's finally the end of our
senior year, and the end of our
journey at Central. We've been
here four years- four years full of
anticipation, dreaming, and goals. We met
some of those goals; others, we did not.
Still, we persisted in all our endeavors.
Now, as we leave with new goals in mind,
we reflect on our years here. We
encountered happy moments and sad,
t~mes when we felt like giving up, and
times when we felt w eon top. After
all our accomp ishments and struggles,
we're finally at this moment, our final day
of high school. We take one last look down
the hallway where we spent our senior
year, and smile as we head out the front
doors to our future.
