Efek bandwagon, atau efek ikut-ikutan, adalah efek eksternalitas jaringan positif dimana seorang
konsumen ingin memiliki suatu barang karena seseorang atau sekelompok orang yang lain jugamemiliki barang tersebut. Efek ikut-ikutan sering timbul pada mainan anak-anak atau pada mode
pakaian.
Open and Closed Questions
A closed uestion usually recei!es a single word or !ery short, factual answer. "or e#ample, $Are
you thirsty%$ &he answer is $'es$ or $(o$) $*here do you li!e%$ &he answer is generally the nameof your town or your address.
Open uestions elicit longer answers. &hey usually begin with what, why, how. An open uestion
asks the respondent for his or her knowledge, opinion or feelings. $&ell me$ and $describe$ can also
be used in the same way as open uestions. +ere are some e#amples
*hat happened at the meeting%
*hy did he react that way% +ow was the party%
&ell me what happened ne#t. escribe the circumstances in more detail.
Open uestions are good for
e!eloping an open con!ersation $*hat did you get up to on !acation%$ "inding out more detail $*hat else do we need to do to make this a success%$
"inding out the other persons opinion or issues $*hat do you think about those changes%$
Closed uestions are good for
&esting your understanding, or the other persons $/o, if 0 get this ualification, 0 will get a
raise%$ Concluding a discussion or making a decision $(ow we know the facts, are we all agreed this is
the right course of action%$
"rame setting $Are you happy with the ser!ice from your bank%$
A misplaced closed uestion, on the other hand, can kill the con!ersation and lead to awkwardsilences, so are best a!oided when a con!ersation is in full flow.
