The king of a famous kingdom in Cipanas, West Java, was very wise man. He had a beautiful daughter. The king and queen loved their daughter so much. But all their love was not enough for the princess. Even though they gave her everything, she was not happy. All the jewelries that they had were not enough for her. She was not satisfied with her gorgeous look either.

The princess then had an idea. She planned to put all the jewelries that they had in every single hair in her head. She wanted to be the most beautiful girl in the world. So the princess went to see her mother and father and told them about her plan. She was very sure they would not say no. The king was surprised to hear about his daughter plan. He tried to convince her that her plan was not proper.

“My Daughter, the beauty of a princess is not measured by her clothes or by the jewelry she is wearing, but by her attitude. It's not that we don't love you, but what will people think if you go through with your plan?” said the king. The princess was shocked to hear that. So she ran to her room to get her jewelry box. Then she returned to her parents. She screamed, “You are so miserable. Here, I am returning the every single jewelry you ever gave me.” She threw her jewelry box to her father.

When I was in Junior High School, I was not a very diligent student. In fact, I was quite lazy. I hated all the subjects that I took during school, especially science. For me, science was very difficult. It was hard for me to remember the chemical processes, physics calculations, and biological processes.

Once, my teacher grounded me in the library because I did not do my Biology homework. The teacher asked me to read several books and make a summary on them. When I was browsing the shelves, I found a book entitled The Inventors of Medicine. I thought, “OK, this is a start.” I took it out then began reading it.

From the book I learned about Edward Jenner. He was an English doctor who found the cure for smallpox. The next one was Louis Pasteur. His interest in bacteria led him to discover the treatments for rabies and anthrax. Just like Pasteur, Robert Koch’s experiments on bacteria also proved that tuberculosis can be spread to others by contact. Finally, there was Alexander Flemming, a British bacteriologist who found the first antibiotic and penicillin.

After that I try to spend my break time in the library and I want to be a diligent student.

Dear Matthew,I had the best weekend! Our Youth Group went to New Chum Ranch for horse – riding camp. We

arrived on Saturday morning and were assigned to our bunk – houses. After lunch, we received some instruction on how to mount our horses and how to make it go right or left. We learned the techniques for stopping and starting and keeping our horse away from tempting grass!

Then it was time to go for trail ride. I was given George to ride. He was easy to control but some other horses weren’t. Toni was on Pudding which kept trying to trot. Stacy had Yeager and spent his time biting the other horses on their rumps. We rode for about an hour and a half. After that we climbed a hill nearby. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery around apple gardens. The staff members allowed us to eat some apples. We could also bring some for our parents at home.

Pati, June 3rd,2011Dear LindaI hope you know me well enough to realize that I would never have missed your dinner party without a very good reason. As I was leaving for your house I got a phone call informing me that my brother, Aldy, was involved in an accident. He was taken to the emergency room and my only thought at the time was to be with him.The very good news is that he was not badly hurt and will fully recover. We took him back home two days ago. I would much rather have been at your dinner party. I’m sure it was a lovely evening. I hope to see you again sometime soon

Sincerely
