A wee* later to al$ost surprise the far$er found and egg in his yard. This was no ordinary egg. 0t was a golden egg.

+e was suddenly o%er'o$e with joy.

Thereafter& his li%elihood had rapidly i$pro%ed but the far$er had forgotten his earlier hardship. +e be'a$e lay&

arrogant and spendthrift.

2tragely& the goose only lain one golden egg e%ery six $onths. The greedy far$er lost his patient and slaughtered

his goose thin*ing there were plenty of golden eggs inside its sto$a'h. Then he *illed to ta*e all the golden eggs. 0n fa't& there
