Horizontal Dropout Slots < 25mm

Horizontal Dropout Slots > 25mm

It is only possible to mount the Rohloff SPEEDHUB

500/14 into frames with horizontal dropout slots,

using TS threaded axle SPEEDHUB models (TS &

TS EX). The CC versions using quick release

skewers will not hold the wheel tight enough to avoid

it moving when pedaling hard and should therefore

not be used. If the dropout slot is longer than 25mm,

then an external Chain tenioner (Art. #8250) is not

required. The dropout slot is long enough to

accommodate the axle, tension the chain and allow

for adjustment as the chain wears. The following

versions of the Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14 with a

long torque arm are therefore suitable:

Vertical Dropout Slots

Standard (IS 2000)

ATTENTION: Untuk aman OEM2 pemasangan dengan baik baut dukungan, sebuah Rohloff SPEEDBONE atau Monkeybone, poin-poin berikut harus diperhatikan dengan baik: Gunung disc brake harus menjadi salah satu bagian dengan putus sekolah itu sendiri, menjadi Standar Internasional (IS2000) dan memiliki persyaratan dimensi minimum sebagai berikut: The minimum ketebalan material yang digunakan tidak boleh kurang dari 6 mm. Frames equipped with a 'Horst Link'

Jenis Frame (E) dilengkapi dengan Horst Link. Mount SPEEDHUB ke dalam bingkai seperti ini hanya mungkin jika putus sekolah termasuk Standar Internasional (IS2000) rem disc mount. Horizontal Dropout Slots < 25mm

Vertical Dropout Slots

On frames with vertical dropout slots (C) the mounting of

the Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14 normally suggests a CC -

hollow, quick release axle version (CC or CC EX). This,

as opposed to the TS versions, offers a faster wheel

removal/installation without the need for tools. The

dropout shape 'C' will require the additional use of an

external Chain tensioner or (if this is a hardtail frame) an

EBB (eccentric bottom bracket) in order to keep the chain

correctly tensioned as components wear. The following

versions of the Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14 with a long torque arm are therefore suitable:

CC - CC EX - TS - TS EX

Equipped with disk brake mounts of International

Standard (IS 2000)

Frames (D) equipped with International Standard (IS

2000) disk brake mounts, can use an OEM2 axle plate for

anchoring the torque of the SPEEDHUB. Alternatively,

the version with the long torque arm could be used (like

on frame type C) however is not the cheapest, nor most

aesthetically pleasing of variants.

Frames using dropout shape (D) will require the

additional use of an external Chain tensioner or (if this is

a hardtail frame) an EBB (eccentric bottom bracket) in

order to keep the chain correctly tensioned as components

wear

ATTENTION:

For safe OEM2 mounting with either a support bolt, a

Rohloff SPEEDBONE or the Monkeybone, the following

points must be well noted:

The disc brake mounts must be one piece with the dropout

itself, be of International Standard (IS2000) and have the

following minimum dimension requirements: The

minimum thickness of material used must not be less than

6 mm. Requiremental for the OEM2 mouting of the

Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14 with a support bolt is the position of the disc brake mounts.

When the mount hole nearest the axle is behind a vertical line C up from the axle center (d1),

then the support bolt can be used. When the hole is in front of the vertical line C (d 2), then

the use of the support bolt is not permitted.

Frames equipped with a 'Horst Link'

Frame type (E) is equipped with a Horst Link. Mounting a

SPEEDHUB into a frame like this is only possible if the

dropout includes an International Standard (IS2000) disc

brake mount. If so, a SPEEDHUB can be fitted using an

OEM2 axleplate. All Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14

versions can be mounted on this frame type as long as

they are fitted with this OEM2 axle plate.

A chain tensioner must be mounted on these (E) full

suspension frames as the chainstay length alters during

use.

OEM Dropouts

Frame type (F) has adjustable Rohloff OEM dropouts.

When used on a rigid frame, these OEM dropouts

integrate a method of chain tensioning into the frame,

eliminating the need for an additional external chain

tensioner. These dropout inserts are available from a

variety of manufacturers both with or without disc brake

mounts.

Both OEM and OEM2, CC and TS SPEEDHUB versions can be mounted into these

dropouts.

OEM Dropouts for rear suspension bikes

Frame types (G) have fixed position Rohloff OEM

dropouts. These can be found on hardtail frames where an

excentric BB is used to tension the chain but are most

commonly found on rear suspension frames. An external

chain tensioner must be fitted to such bicycles because the

distance between the chainring and sprocket varies as the

rear suspension is activated.

Both OEM and OEM2, CC and TS SPEEDHUB versions

can be mounted into these dropouts.
