    PROPOSAL

    PRACTICAL TRAINING

    PT TOTAL E&P INDONESIE

    I. INTRODUCTION

The innovation of technology has grown rapidly in early third millennium, so

it is necessary to balance the professionalism, something undergraduate students

must have. It means, in real industry, an engineer must have good attitude and be

able to use time effectively to make a decision to solve the problems. In addition, an

undergraduate student should improve his/her skill and have a good social

communication with others. Social, culture environment, and lifestyle of professional

workers must be understood, because things we have learned and studied in

university sometimes are different with the real fact in the field.

Besides, with practical training, an undergraduate student will get a chance toobserve, compare, and apply theories they have got in university. Also, they could

gain more knowledge, and help to solve a problem in industry. In the other hand, for

a company, practical training could be an event to search for new human resources

and an event to evaluate the quality of undergraduate students.

Based on the existing curriculum at the Department of Electrical Engineering,

Diponegoro University, each student is required to do practical training in a

company, institution, or research agency which is suitable with field of interest and

sub-major in university and has taken at least 70 credits.

The program is implemented in order to succeed the concept of link and

match between education and the world of work. Students are expected to practice or

apply the theory gained from lectures in industry or related agencies. Thus students

not only have theoretical knowledge but also skills and work ethic which matched to

working requirements. In addition to the practical training of this program, each

student of Department of Electrical Engineering is expected to produce output and

the picture in order to make a final assignment.

    VIII. TIMING

In accordance to the curriculum of the Department of Electrical

Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Diponegoro, then this event is

mandatory for students before taking the final exam of bachelor degree, with 2

credits and performed at least 1 month. I planned this practical training on 1 stAugust

2015 until 20thSeptember 2015. For its implementation, I adjust the wisdom of the

    PT Total E & P Indonesie.

    IX. PRACTICE ACTIVITY

When doing practical training, students are expected to do a study of case.

Taking a case that were found in the workplace practical training and then make it

becomes a riset based on field of study or make observations to the process or tools

that founded in workplace and then researched based on field of study.

I need to inform you that the Department of Electrical Engineering,

Faculty of Engineering, University of Diponegoro, has five field groups of

specification contained the scope of science electrical engineering, namely The fields

of Power Electrical, Computer and Information Technology, Control and

Isntrumentation, Electronics, and Telecommunications. The purpose of this division

is for the specialization of electrical profession that suitable with requirements ofgraduated students in electrical engineering.

Implementation of practical training to be performed is in accordance to

field of study. In accordance to the fields that I have taken in power electrical,

    slightly below will be described.

In this field of study is studied about various things about electrical

energy include power generation, power distribution systems, electrical machinery,

power systems analysis, etc. Students who are entering this field of study are

expected to analyze and optimize a power system that has been there and plan a
