The introduction

Good morning, how are you today?

To day I wiil explain about cataracks, what do you know about cataracts? In Indonesia 35% most

older have cataracts, se let us try to discuss what is cataract….

Overview

Ok lets discuss about cataracts, I will explain the eigth points:

The first is cataract devinisi…

The second is classification of cataracts…

The third is clinical manisfestations of cataract…

The fourtf is phatophysiologi of cataract…

The firth is complication of cataract…

The Sixth diagnostic examination of cataract..

And finally I will explain the treatment of cataract…

The body

Defenition

Cataract is a cloudiness in the lens without pain blurred vision slowly starting to finally not be

able to receive light

Etiology

1. Aging is usually found in senile catarac

2. Trauma occurs due to sharp blows and blunt objects, exposed to X-rays or radioactive objects

3. Eye diseases such as uveitis

4. Systemic diseases such as diabetes

5. Congenital defects

Classification of Cataract

1. Congenital cataracts are cataract that have been obtained at birth

2. Juvenilecataract:isa cataract that occurs in children after birth

3. Cataractsenil:is the lens opacities which occurred due to age.

4. Cataractscomplications:caused by other diseases, the disease can be intra - ocular or general

disease.

5. The Cataract traumatic: ruda caused by forced or traumatic cataract.

Clinical manifestations

1. Gradually decreased vision

2. Glare circle around the light

3. Ability to distinguish colors decreases

4. Sudden decreased vision

Pathophysiology

Normal lens is the posterior iris structure that is clear, transparent, shaped like buttons, has a

refractive power of a large. With increasing age, the nucleus changes into a yellowish brown

color. Physical and chemical changes in the lens resulting in a loss of transparency

Complication

1. Glaucoma

2. Ablasio retina

3. Uveitis

4. Vitreous hemorrhage

5. Infection

Diagnostic Examination

1. Snellen Eye Card : may be impaired by damage to the cornea, lens, refractive error, nervous

system disease, vision on the retina.

2. Field of vision

3. Measurement Tonografi

4. Measurement Gonioskopi distinguish open angle of angle-closure glaucoma.

5. Provocative test : determining the presence of glaucoma

Management of

1. Medical Management

a) Surgery : the most popular method in removing cataracts is the ECCC (extracapsular

cataract extraction) or extracapsular lens extraction.

b) Correction lenses : done because the lens or lenses contents removed it is necessary to

replace it, that is the intraocular lens, this is the most frequent. While other methods are

external lens, glass cataract or contact lenses.

2. Nursing Management

The symptoms that occur in mild cataract still can be helped by using eyeglasses, magnifying

lenses, brighter light,or glasses that can deaden the light.

The ending

The end of the presentation I hope what I have to say useful for all of us, thank you very

much..se you..
