Anti Coal Groups Whilst some (Australia) are familiar

with anti UCG protesters , last coupleof years UCG technology has beenspecifically targeted as a highpotential threat by anti- coal lobbistsand environmental group.

Fracking - Anti Shale Gas - believeUCG to be the same and involvesfracking.

Causing earthquakes, water pollution,landslides, Land contamination,

This could be a real issue as we goforward. Negative media before you even get a

chance to go public! UCG industry must have a clear,

cohesive, central message

Science, Not Opinion, Must Fuel TheEnergy Debate.

Politicians, regulators, planners are being bombarded withconflicting information.

From commercial companies, whom many (anti coal

activists) perceive as being motivated purely by financial gainand those opposed to any technology linked to coal.

It is Science and Engineering that develop new technologies .

Scientific based fact - not rhetoric or opinion must be the

basis to assess the viability of new technologies.Highly emotive anti coal dogma is making it difficult toimplement the very thing environmental groups are callingfor lower emissions.

Coal is an abundant natural resource, widely distributed around theworld, nine times more prevalent than crude oil.

Applying UCG technology to, stranded low grade coal seamsvastlyincreases the amount of exploitable global reserves

Estimates suggest UCG could increase recoverable coal reserves by

300%-400%* Coal when applied to UCG becomes the largest sustainable

resource base in the world
