From the President
Dear Members,
It gives me great pleasure to report that our Club enjoyed a most successful Festive Season, which begun with the Christmas Market and the Children’s Christmas Party, organised by Ursula respectively by Fritzi. Our well at-tended ”Weihnachtsfeier” was a most meaningful and en-joyable event, and an, indeed, very Happy New Year’s Dance completed the richly varied 2015 -program. The number of masked guests that attended was tremendous. Just look at the photos.
So we are at the beginning of a new year and I hope and wish that it will be a very good year for us all! Dutch Club Members will as from now be using our club facilities, and I am asking you to, please, welcome them. I reassure you, that their activities will not encroach on to our group activities. The Dutch Club Mem-bers appreciate to be able to continue their activities, and our aim should be to make their transmission as smooth as possible.
On a personal note, I would like to thank you all for your Sympathy on the pass-ing of my husband. It made the sadness easier to cope with.

New Years Dance - “ Masquerade Ball “ It was a roaring success, we had 150 people that came with their finery and
wearing Masks. The variety was absolutely wonderful. There were 3 categories: The most original, the funniest and the most elegant! The choice was difficult for there were so many. Günter Best, Anna and Ross
from the band made the selection. A bottle of wine was the prize for each win-
ner. The band played several dances so everyone could join in the parade. Midnight came with a big “Old Lang Syne” and a good time was had by all.

To the Members of Rhein-Donau Club My name is Lianna Parker and I am President of Dutch Society
“Neerlandia” (Dutch Club). After two and a half years of uncertainty, Neerlandia is disposing of its own club-
house in Wembley to find a new home at the Rhein-Donau clubhouse in
Myaree. This is an enormous step in the history of both the Rhein-Donau- and the Dutch
Club. On behalf of Neerlandia, I would like to take this opportunity to express our grati-
tude that we found a safe and comfortable place for our members in your club-
house, where our club members are able to execute their activities for the time
being. On 3 February, the Wednesday Card Club will meet for the first time at the
Rhein-Donau Club and that will mark the official start of the New Year in the new
clubhouse for the Neerlandia members. Obviously everyone is a bit nervous yet we all know that after the first few hic-
cups, that will probably last a few weeks, we will all settle in nicely to enjoy your
clubhouse together. On 26 February we will have our monthly drinks get together. Traditional Dutch
finger food, Dutch beers and “jenever” (Dutch schnapps) will be available. It
would be our pleasure to welcome you that night and for you to meet us. Meanwhile, on behalf of the Neerlandia Committee and the Neerlandia mem-
bers, I would like to wish all of you a prosperous and a healthy new year. May 2016 be good to all of us and to our loved ones.
Warmest Regards Lianna Parker

Heimat Choir
W e will be starting our rehearsal on Tuesday 2nd. February.
I am hoping that the attendance of the choir members will improve as it
is very disheartening practising with only a few voices.
We have been asked by the Office of the Multicultural to perform at the end of
February for Harmony Week. This should be an incentive to do our very best
and be there to practise.
Looking forward to a more successful year of “Singing in Harmony’’.
Marlene Porzig, Group Leader
T he Vienna night was a great success. The group performed well. As before, we started with a classic waltz, named "Der Wiener Riesenrad Walzer".
For the English speaking "The Ferris Wheel Dance".
Then there was a short history of Vienna; and Günter read "a little life story" in the Viennese dialect.
The sketch "The Hole in the Bucket" was very amusingly played. We had the people laughing a lot. It was a happy crowd.
Of course we missed all our friends who could not be with us this evening.
Thanking everybody for being with us (Theatre Group 40 years), and the Vienna night also many years.
As a surprise, Robert and Mark played wonderful music on their mandolins.
Once again a big thank you to all performers and helpers, the Band Alpen Duo, and the door lady.
Our Easter Hat parade will be on March 26. Don't forget to wear your Easter Hats.
Auf Wiedersehen, ciao, bye for now.
Fritzi Waters, Group Leader

Senioren / Seniors
L iebe Senioren,
_____________________________________________
As a new year starts, we hope it brings you good luck and peace.
We celebrated Christmas with an excellent Lunch and we were happy to greet old members like Vera and Magda. Marian also found the way to us and she surprised us with a lovely speech.
I would like to thank our President Marlene who served us with lots of patience at the bar.
To Henry Gebauer, when a bit late, our best wishes for his 90th Birthday. We always have a lot of fun with him.
Hopefully you are all able to attend our first get together on Wednesday, 3. February 2016. New members are always welcome.
To our sick members I wish a speedy recovery and I hope to see you soon.

A s reported in the last issue, the end of year concert in Swanbourne was a resounding success.
As misreported last time the end of year windup was not held in the Edelweiss Room, but in a last minute change we had dinner at Miss Maud’s in Perth. The members savagely depleted the smorgasbord and much companionable con-versation ensued, which is normally difficult when we are concentrating on the notes and the conductor.
Members departed to all points of the compass during the festive break, and we will recommence rehearsals in the first week of February.
This is our 40th year of existence and big things (for us anyway) are planned.
Stay tuned,
Harry Baker

H ello Shooters,
I hope that you all had a good holiday and wish you all a Happy and Healthy New Year.
Our next function will be the Schuetzenfest on the 19th of March and our King and Queen shoot will be on the 11th of March.
So you can all be back in form, the competition with Arberger Schuetzen Group did not go to well for us this time we lost by 16 points, next time we will have to improve.
I wish you all very good shooting this year and see you all back in good health.
