Course Instructor | Asst Prof. Dr. Hugo Yu-Hsiu Lee
Course Objectives FOCUS/GOAL: Drawing upon an interdisciplinary approach, this course addresses several
major themes focusing on the dynamics of the use of the language(s) in media and
technology. Topics covered will include the implications of traditional media, new media
and the rise of technology for everyday life in students’ local contexts. One important goal of
this course is to provide an overview, a set of conceptual tools and research-based
perspectives that will hopefully help students better describe and understand the media- and
technological world around them, while learning and using the language(s) that enables them
to interact with media and technology. A variety of pedagogical techniques will be adopted
to help students learn course materials, including lectures, videos, and analyses of media and
technology.
