MOONSHOT THINKING
•Moonshot Thinking
•What is moonshot thinking?
•What could YOU accomplish if you dared to explore
the impossible?
GETTING STARTED
• Identify a topic you are PASSIONATE
about. What lights your soul on fire?
• Determine which pathway best fits your
chosen topic.
• Decide if you will work alone or with ONE
partner.
• If you do work with a partner, make
sure that your topic is one that you
BOTH feel strongly invested in
exploring.
• Partners will be required to sign an
accountability contract.
• What is your ultimate
goal?
• What would YOU like
to accomplish?
• Will your topic
continue to hold your
interest for the next
three months?
PROJECT PROPOSAL
• You will submit a well-organized written proposal that includes an overview of your project
and addresses the following questions:
• What are you going to learn/explore/create?
• Why do you want to learn it?
• How are you going to accomplish this?
• What potential obstacles can you anticipate at this point?
• How will you overcome those obstacles (possible solutions)?
• What would success on your project look like to you?
GUPPY TANK PRESENTATIONS
• You will “pitch” your project idea to the class in a shark tank style presentation.
• Luminaid Shark Tank Pitch
• Your pitch should be quick (30-90 seconds) and answer the following questions on
four PowerPoint slides:
• What are you going to learn/explore/create?
• Why do you want to learn it?
• How are you going to accomplish this?
• What would success on your project look like to you?
• ALL projects must
be researched!
• You will be
accountable for
documenting your
research.
• You will submit a list
of all utilized
sources at the
completion of your
project.
• You will present your
project to the class.
• You will be strongly
encouraged to share your
project on a larger scale
(parents, community,

• You may choose HOW
you present your project.
• Presentation ideas/styles
must be approved in
