Dear Colleagues,Organ failure as more recently known as a clinical syndrome characterized by the failure of two or more organs, which are unable to maintain without intervention and could be widely vary, depending on the primary causes, nature, number and severity of the organ systems involved. In 9th Indonesian PICU NICU Update 21, 23-24, 25-27 April 2017 this year with the theme “Comprehensive Management in Neonatal and Pediatrics Critical Care to Prevent Organ Failure”, would emphasize the coherent clinical presentations to prevent organ failure in Neonatal and Pediatric Critical Care. Pre multi organ dysfunction syndrome should be promptly identifi ed and treated. The available guidelines should be followed and supportive care for single organ dysfunction should be provided in adequate maintenance. We do hope participants of 9th Indonesian PICU NICU Update would have further awareness with comprehensive management knowledge, assess strategies for early prevention and treatment to meet the goal of optimal quality of life for preterm infants and children.
9th Indonesian PICU NICU Update will be held also in conjunction with Asia Pacifi c Preterm Nutrition Summit on 21-22 April 2017. The Asia Pacifi c Preterm Nutrition Summit would involve the doctors to have the sharing experience of International expertise and be prepared to conduct the NICU with NEC free on day 1. While in day 2, the parenteral and enteral nutrition management for preterm infants will fully highlight the appropriate nutrition management to profound the impact of outcome and enhance the preterm infants’ quality of life. The 9th Indonesian PICU NICU Update also will be packed with innovative Workshops in three days post-settings on 25-27 April 2017 at Jakarta.

Learning ObjectiveDetection of children with a developmental disorder at an early age is notoriously diffi cult. Recently, a form of assessment in newborn infants was developed based on the quality of general movements (GMs). The quality of GMs at 2 to 4 months post-term has been found to have the highest predictive value for developmental disorders implies an indication for early intervention. During the course participants will learn how to assess general movements of preterm and term infants. The Training Course will consist of lectures and self-practice sessions during which video recordings of general movements of preterm and term infants will be analyzed.
