Best Practice No.1
Title
To provide the Internship to the students.
Goal
The ultimate aim of the Internship is to allow engineering students to learn and to give a practical
exposure which is readily available in the industries. Typically the internship develops the students in
practical exposure of technical skills, professional skills, and promotes leadership skills and critical
thinking.
The Context
Students must be ready and they should be aware of internship. Staff members and other mentors
are needed to motivate the students to undergo internship and inform the benefits of it. Industry is ready to
allow the students for internship. Staff members are needed to create the internship awareness to the
students.
The Practice
Students are going to industry for internship in the weekends. They gain technical knowledge and
practical exposure in the related field of internship. Each student undergoes internship based on their own
interest related to their department.
Evidence of Success
Arranged internship in various industries after getting the parent„s permission. So far around 150
students have undergone internship from various industries which are located in Pudukkottai and
Sivaganga district. Every weekend and semester holidays students are undergo internship to improve their
skills.
Problems Encountered and Resources Required
The students were not able to undergo internship regularly because of their
academic commitment. Some of the students are not coming forward for internship as they have to work
regularly. Many of the companies are not willing to provide internship. More number of industries is
essential to provide internship for all the students.
