be  proud  to  protect  their  country  with  their  own  strength; 2.  Crea2ng  an  exaggera2on  of  hatred  and  fear  towards  the  

Germans; 3.  Making  those  who  were  not  enlis2ng  feel  cowardly; 4.  Emphasizing  the  sense  of  masculinity  and  bravery  in  the  

armies; 5.  Glorifying  army  life,  making  the  men  feel  as  though  joining  

was  a  great  adventure  all  should  embark  on. 6.  Urging  people  on  the  home  front  to  support  the  effort
