IN 1951, RAY BRADBURY WROTE “THE FOG HORN, “A SHORT STORY ABOUT A PRIMEVAL MONSTER THAT MAKES AN ANNUAL ODYSSEY TO A REMOTE LIGHTHOUSE, ATTRACTED BY THE HAUNTING RESONANCE OF THE FOG HORN TWO LIGHTHOUSES KEEPERS BECOME. THE AWE-STRUCK AUDIENCE TO THE TRAGIC DRAMA UNFOLDING.THE MAGNIFICENT GARANTUAN SUPPOSEDLY THE LAST OF ITS KIND IS DRAWN TO THE SOUND OF THE FOG HORN. THE FOG HORN STIRS UP ECHOES OF ANCIENT MEMORIES. MEMORISES PERHAPS OF A TIME WHEN THE BEST WASN’T SO ALONE IN ITS UNIVERSE. SO, STIRS A YEARING. IT TRAVELS IT SEEKS. DRIVEN BY AN INSTINCTIVE NEED TO FILL–GOD KNOWS HOW MANY EONS OF EMPTINESS, IT SURGES UPWARD FROM THE DEPTHS TO WOO THE FOG HORN SADLY, A LIGHT HOUSE IS INCAPABLE OF RETURNING AFFECTION AND A FOG HORN CAN ONLY CALL, NOT ANSWER…

NOW-A-DAYS, AUTOMATED SYSTEMS HAVE LESS MANUAL OPERATIONS, FLEXIBILITY, RELIABILITY AND ACCURATE. DUE TO THIS DEMAND EVERY FIELDS PRERERS AUTOMATED CONTROL SYSTEMS. ESPECIALLY IN THE FIELD OF ELECTRONICS AUTOMATED SYSTEMS ARE GIVING GOOD PERFORMANCE. IN THE PRESENT FOGGY SITUATIONS, UNMANNED SYSTEMS PLAYS VERY IMPORTANT ROLE TO MINIMIZE HUMAN LOSSES. SO THIS FOG HORN IS VERY USEFUL TO DO OPERATION IN SHIP, BUOYS, COSTAL INSTALLATIONS, AND AEROPLANE. THIS PROJECT AIMS AT DESIGNING AND EXECUTING THE OBSTACLE.
A FOG HORN OR FOG SIGNAL OR FOG BELL IS A DEVICE THAT USES SOUND TO WARN VEHICIES OF HAZARDS OR BOATS OF THE PRESENCE OF OTHER VEHICLES IN FOGGY CONDITION. THE TERM IS MOST OFTEN USED IN RELATION TO MARINE TRANSPORT. WHEN UISUAL NAVIGATION AIDS SUCH AS LIGHTHOUSES ARE OBSCURED, FOG HORN PROVIDES AN AVDIBLE WARNING OF ROCK, SHOALS, HEADLANDS, OR OTHER DANGAR TO SHIPPING. A FOG HORN FOR SOUNDING WARNING SIGNALS IN FOG OR DARKNESS, USED ESPECIALLY ON SHIPS, COSTAL INSTALLATION, SUB-MARINE, BOATS, AEROPLANE, AIRCRAFT, ETC. A LIGHTHOUSE IS INCAPABLE OF RETURNING AFFECTION AND A FOG HORN CAN ONLY CALL, NOT ANSWER...

A VERY SIMPLE FOG HORN ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT PROJECT CAN BE DESIGNED USING THREE TRANSISTOR AND SOME OTHER COMMON ELECTRONICS PARTS. THIS FOG HORN ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT PROJECT IS ACTIVATED WHEN THE PUSH BUTTON IS PRESSED.
HERE IS A SIMPLE CIRCUIT WHICH CAN BE USE AS A FOG HORN. 9 VOLT IS ENOUGH TO OPERATE. THERE IS NOT MUCH TO CIRCUIT. THE TRANSISTOR BC547 IS CONNECTED TO ITS SUPPLY AND ITS OUTPUT FED TO A TRANSISTOR BC557 FOR AMPLIFICATION.
WHEN THE PUSH BUTTON IS PRESSED THE 100µF CAPACITOR WILL TAKE TIME TO CHARGE AND THIS WILL PROVIDE THE RISING PITCH AND THIS WILL PROVIDE THE RISING PITCH AND VOLUME. WHEN THE PUSH-BOTTON IS RELEASED, THE LEVEL AND PITCH WILL DIE AWAY. THIS ELECTRONIC PROJECT CIRCUIT MUST BE POWERED FROM A 9 VOLT DC POWER SUPPLY (IT CAN BE POWERED FROM A 9 VOLT BATTERY).

ADVANTAGES & DISADVANTAGES
ADVANTAGES:-
• INEXPENSIVE AND EASY TO USE. • COMPONENT EASILY GETS. • SIMPLE EASY CIRCUIT. • IT GIVE GOOD HIGH-FREQUENCY RESPONCES. • GREATER SEAFTY: THEY DO NOT CARRY HIGH ELECTRICITY, SO THERE IS
NO DANGER OF ELECTRICAL SHOCKS OR LIGHTENING STICKES.
DISADVANTAGES:-
• BATTERY REFILLABLE EVERY ONE OR TWO MONTHS. • IT CREATES LOTS OF SOUND POLLUTION. • WHILE CREATING THE FOG HORN SOUND GENERATOR IT TAKES MORE
ENERGY AND SUPPLY OF ELECTRICITY.

1. SHIP: FOG HORN IS PLACED ON ROOF OF SHIP.
2. BOAT: IN THE BOAT FOG HORN IS PLACED IN BOAT.
3. SUBMARINE: IT IS PLACED OUTSIDE THE SUBMARINE.
4. REMINDER ALARM: IT IS PLACED ON THE TABLE IN HALL.
5. WARNING ALARM: IT’S USED TO WARN. EG. TSUNAMI, EARTHQUAKE, ETC.
6. AREOPLANE: IT IS USED IN THE AEROPLANE TO REDUCE THE CRASHES. EG. AIR
CRAFT, ETC.
