Abstract: Innovation ecosystems are widely known as dynamic, self-adapting and co-
evolving structures whose main objective is to create innovation. However, there still
remains unexplored formation methodology and boundary settings. From this point of
view, the morphological analysis aims to fill the gap in terms of identification and
exploration of all forming possibilities in order to create an extensive framework,
which will identify the main innovation ecosystems’ attributes required.

Abstract: The education and training in the textile industry has to face different
challenges concerning new e-learning materials and training concepts, based on the
facilities of multimedia environment. The Erasmus+ project "Smart textiles for STEM
training" is funded with support from the European Commission and it is a Strategic
partnership - KA2 / Vocational Education and Training (VET), in the field of transfer
of innovation from research providers towards textile enterprises & VET schools. VET
students within technical education acquire basic disciplines, such as mathematics,
physics, technical drawing, chemistry, biology, mechanics, but the horizon of the end
applications and usefulness of such basic disciplines is often not touchable. The aim of
this paper is to present the main objectives and achievements of the Skills4Smartex
project, according to its declared goals.

Abstract: MP3, formally MPEG-1 Audio Layer III or MPEG-2 Audio Layer III, is an
audio coding format for digital audio and has shown an exponential growth since
1995, making ".mp3" the most searched term in early 1999 and a standard today for
audio encoding. Different encryption algorithms, such as AES, Partial Encryption,
DES, RC2 or RC6 are applied to MP3 files to secure the audio data, either
before/during MP3 compression or after compression, especially to protect the files
against copyright infringement. This article evaluates the security solutions proposed
so far in the literature with the main scope of identifying new creative themes for
audio data encryption by applying the method of diagramming ideas.

Abstract: End milling is a machining method applied to obtain flat surfaces. In the
efficient use of the end milling process, the proper selection and use of the cutting tool
are important aspects. In order to develop experimental research in terms of increasing
the productivity of the machining process and improving the surface quality, the
axiomatic design could be used. A first step in applying the axiomatic design is to
develop the functional requirements corresponding to the product to be obtained. In this
way, the functional requirements for the end milling tool were taken into account to
define its main components.

Abstract: Hydrogels are promising materials for tissue engineering purposes as a
result of their high resemblance with native extracellular matrix. Among all the
polymers that can be used to create hydrogels, natural polymers offer several
advantages. Cellulose, the most abundant, renewable natural polymer, is a very
promising material with properties such as mechanical robustness, biodegradability,
hydrophilicity and biocompatibility. These properties are responsible for the extensive
use of cellulose in a wide spectrum of applications that include pharmacy, agriculture,
medical science, industries and so many other related branches. Highly porous
materials with a three-dimensional hydrophilic polymer network can be prepared from
cellulose. Usually, the polymeric networks exhibit a poor mechanical behaviour,
hindering their use in several applications. Therefore, the strategy described in this
study is to create cellulose-based hydrogels with controlled structural and mechanical
properties and with applicability in the biomedical field.

Abstract: The current paper addresses the problem of selecting the most suitable abandoned narrow
gauge railway for rehabilitation by considering and comparing the architectural heritage values and
state of conservation of its annex buildings. Four semi-abandoned heritage railways are used as case
studies in order to determine which is the most fitting for reuse from these perspectives. By employing
the decision matrix method, we have demonstrated that the best possible outcome for architectural
heritage preservation is the railway which contains a large number of buildings which are in a
relatively good state of conservation, despite the fact that only a small percentage of these buildings
have specific primary architectural features (ornamentations, details).

Abstract. Cellulose is a versatile natural polymerwhich provides a good platform for
construction of different hydrogel systems with distinctive properties. Several tri-
dimensional formulations based on cellulose were designed and preliminary tested to
be used in biomedical applications, with focus on drug delivery systems. The main
objective of this paper was to study the influence of the preparation formula and
method on the morphology, density, swelling degree and sorption capacity of these tri-
dimensional networks. The resulting porous microarchitectures are strongly
influenced by the composition of hydrogel formulations and freezingtemperature.
Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis revealed a uniform, highly porous
surface, with homogeneously distributed well-defined pores, which are influenced by
the cross-linking degree and also by the freezing temperature prior lyophilization, as
have been confirmed by density and swelling measurements. The dynamic vapor
sorption (DVS) isotherms showed that the preparation method directly influences the
sorption capacity of the gel formulations, data which are in good correlation with the
swelling information. The variations of the freezing process rate and of the cross-
linking agent concentration generate different structures with controlled porosity, a
key feature in drug delivery applications.

Abstract: The paper proposes an approach related with the precision of a 3D printer
revealed in 2D circular trajectories displacement, generated by a simultaneously
controlled displacement on two orthogonal axles (abscissa and ordinate). The
displacement on each axis is experimentally controlled using two non-contact optical
sensors (optoNCDT 2000) which convert a displacement into a electrical signal. This
signal is numerical acquired by a computer via a numerical oscilloscope PicoScope
4824. The real trajectory is generated and analyzed (related by shape, mathematical
description and precision) using computer calculus features.

Abstract: Cellulose is the most abundant biopolymer, and it has been used in different
areas because of its unique properties such as hydrophilicity, low-cost,
biodegradability, biocompatibility, and non-toxicity, which makes it a good feedstock
for the synthesis of biocompatible hydrogels. Cellulose-based hydrogels are of great
interest in biomedical applications including tissue engineering, drug delivery, wound
dressing, etc. The present work reports the preparation of novel cellulose-dextran
hydrogels, developed for heart valve tissue engineering. The hydrogels were
characterized by swelling measurements, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and
cytotoxicity assays. Various degrees of swelling were obtained as a function of
hydrogels composition. SEM demonstrated microporous structure of the hydrogel. In
vitro studies, such as assessment of cell cytotoxicity, showed their excellent
biocompatibility.

Abstract. The paper aims to determine methods to optimize the matrix geometry in order
to thermoform the open-box parts made of composite materials based on vegetable
fibers, especially in the corners area for improving the surface quality, obtaining the
desired curves and increasing the resistance to avoid the formation of folds, excessive
thinning or rupture of the material. For this purpose were conducted numerical
simulations using Dynaform software for the thermoforming process of two different
parts, and Solid Simulation was used to track the deformation and strength of the parts,
varying the wall thickness of the side plates.

Abstract: The present work uses the different method of logical-mathematical creation of inventories
such as the diagram of ideas and technique of morphological matrices in structures of objects where
there are, an ordering must, a classification of them to favour the processing of creation in the (bio)
engineering field, inspired by elements of nature. The second techniques are used in combination,
resulting in a wide range of information about caring for a broad vision of people in areas of interest,
biomimetic and bionic. Simple creation ideas through independence of morphological and ideas
matrices with a high degree of complexity resulted, due to combinations of ideas from the

Abstract: The principle of measurement in assisted control essentially differs from the
measurement principle with universal means. In this paper the purpose is to use the
principle of value analysis (VA) methods that can be applies to new objects, so that to
prevent and eliminate unnecessary cost-generating causes by performing functions at
a minimal cost without neglecting performance, is applied in the design and design
phases and act on the feed-forward mechanism. In this case the methods objectives is
to establish the critical functions, economically oversized, that is, the functions for
which more money has been invested in relation to the importance given by the client
for different MMC specific structures
