MINUTES OF THE SECOND REGULAR WEEKLY MEETING OF OCTOBER 2021 HELD ON MONDAY 11 OCTOBER 2021 AT 7:00 P.M.

1. The President called the meeting to order at 7.00 p.m.

2. National anthem was sung.

3. The 4-Way-Test was read.

4. The President requested members to introduce their guests, if any.

5. The President informed that the speaker for the evening was Rtn Sanjay Tikku and he would address the club on “Interesting and Unknown Facts about Ramayana”. She requested all to join her in welcoming him.

10. Rtn Sanjay Tikku addressed the club virtually on “Interesting and Unknown Facts About Ramayana” which was followed by an interactive session.

All members were engrossed and enjoyed the session as he shared so many unknown facts about Ramayan.

GLANCES OF EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES DURING THE LAST TWO WEEKS

PROJECT DISABILITY

Gokul Das of Baridih broke his backbone in an accident. He was an ex-driver at BOC. Hence he was unable to sit and stand.He did not move out of his bedroom from last six years.

Rtn. Bimal Agiwal sponsored the wheel chair to Mr.Gokul and he was able to see the sunlight again after a long time. A sincere gratitude to Rtn. Bimal Kumar who took no time to sponsor this Service to Humanity. RCJ extends its thanks to Rtn.Vijay Vaidnathan and Rtn.Avinash Duggar for their presence. RCJ also thank President Madhumita Santra for her moral support!

WEEKLY VISIT TO ROTARY PLAYSCHOOL ON 8th October 2021

On the auspicious occasion of "Navratri" President Amrita and other members of Lion's club of Jamshedpur Kalimati made a visit to Rotary Playschool, Palasbani accompanied by PP Rtn. G. R. Murty, PP Rtn Kety Bhathena, Sarpanch RaimaniMardl, Senior Lion Seema Bajpayee, Lion Katy Malegamwala and Lobojee.

The children enthusiastically showed their work on mango and apple to the visitors and entertained them with their recitation and Rotary School Song.

The visitors were apprised of all the other services rendered to the villagers by Rotary Vividh Seva Kendra.

Beautiful bags sponsored by Lions were gifted to all the children.The happy hour ended with the happy kids devouring bananas, biscuits and delicious milk.

Children decorated the Mukut of Maa Durga and played Dandiya.Durga Puja Activities were planned by Rtn. Harpreet Marwah and executed by the school teachers.

GIVING THE GIFT OF SIGHT

World Sight Day is an International Day of Awareness, held annually on the second Thursday of October, to focus attention on the global issue of eye health. We can easily change lives by serving eyeglasses to the needy people. Over 1 billion people around the world with vision loss and lack of access to eye care could regain their sight with a pair of glasses.

On the occasion of WORLD SIGHT DAY on 14th Oct.2021, Rotary Club of Jamshedpur launched an Initiative 'FOR YOUR EYES ONLY', a permanent project for providing free Spectacles to people who provide assistance to us in making our life easy.... cook, house maid, gardener, parking attender, guard, vegetable hawkers, truck drivers etc..

Rtn. AvinashDugar, Chairperson welcomed all present and spoke about *Sunning* & *Palming* for eyes caring.

Rtn. Darshana Taunk spoke in detail about the Initiative on World Sight Day, thanking Dr. Ravi and Mr. Milan from Daulat Opticals for their support and mentioning names of all the sponsors.

Pres. Madhumita Santra appreciated the initiative, a brainchild of Rtn. Darshana Taunk.

PDG Ronald D'Costa spoke in his signature 'hindi' and praised the effort of Rtn. Darshana starting this initiative for EYEs.

Dr. Ravi & Mr. Miland Daulat were honoured by President Rtn. Madhumita Santra and Rtn. Darshana Taunk.

Four Beneficiaries conveyed their gratitude, from the dias and shared their feelings.

Vote of Thanks was given by Rtn. Rajiv Agarwal. The launching event ended with High-Tea.

FOOD FOR ALLSpecial

“A few months ago'Times of India' had featured Niti Aayog's report on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Index. Jharkhand was at the bottom amongst all the States with Bihar and Assam making the bottom three. In terms of Hunger Reduction Jharkhand is at the last position amongst all 28 States featuring in this study.That is why we are lagging and need to do more to wash this blot!!” A sensi t ive and pert inent observation made by PDG Rtn Vijay Mehta - the mind, material and momentum behind the FOOD FOR ALL project.

The joint initiative of Rotary Club of Jamshedpur and Shirdi Sai Charitable Trust 'FOOD FOR ALL' continues to spread a sense of warm care and consideration amongst the deprived and less fortunate people of our community, through distribution of hot and delicious

thmeals on every Saturday. This week, on 16 October, the FFA team served a festive meal of khichuri, mixed vegetable, tomato-khajur chutney and bananas to about 170 persons at Jagannathpur and Dimkadi village. The villages are inhabited by SABAR primitive tribe.

The Sarpanch of the villages Smt. Raimani Mardi and her husband Mr. Lobo Mardi were present alongwith two teachers from Rotary Vividh Sewa Kendra to assist in the food distribution.

Our team comprising PDG Rtn Vijay Mehta and spouse Kiran Mehta, PP Rtn Sharat Chandran, Hon secretary Rtn Capt Anil Pandey, PP Rtn Gian Taneja, PP Rtn Katy Gabba,Rtn Vijay Vaidyanathan,Rtn Avinash Dugar and Rtn Mahendra Gupta enthusiastically carried out the food distribution at the sites.

RCJ and SSCT expresses heartfelt gratitude to all who participating in the implementation of FOOD FOR ALL project.
