Executive summary
2MRO MARKET OPPORTUNITY: ESTABLISH A TRAINING FACILITY FOR HANDS-ON TECHNICAL TRAINING
Establish a training facility for hands-on technical Installation, Operation and Maintenance (IOM)
trainings in Qatar.
The local capabilities should include a training facility with a workshop able to facilitate all types of
theoretical and practical hands-on technical IOM trainings.
Currently, most of the technical training – which requires theoretical and practical hands-on
training – is provided outside Qatar. Therefore, there is potential to set up a local technical training
facility with a workshop.
A fully fledged training facility to provide all types of hands-on IOM training is not available in Qatar.
The demand for technical training in Qatar is expected to be approximately QAR 6M in 2018,
which will potentially increase to approximately QAR 8M by 2023 due to local growth and regional
demand, based on:
Local demand of approximately 600 people to be trained per year
Expected installed base growth of 4-6 percent per year.
A training curriculum could be created in phases in order to tailor the curriculum to market needs.
On-demand capital investment can be made based on the expansion of the curriculum.
Localization opportunity
Business scope
IOM training curriculum with theoretical and practical hands-on technical training
Training facility with classrooms, computer rooms, and a workshop
Technical training planners and administrators
Coordination with OEM trainers
In addition, a training facility could also provide
Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, TÜV)
Nontechnical training
Out of scope
Maintenance, repair, or overhaul services
Manufacturing of any type of equipment

Establish a training facility for hands-on
technical training Hands-on technical IOM training is needed for all types
of MRO domains in the Qatari sector (e.g., control
systems, electrical systems, rotating/static equipment).
Currently, most of the technical training – which requires
theoretical and practical hands-on training – is provided
outside Qatar.
Such a facility could offer a training curriculum with the
support of OEM trainers or (certified) in-house trainers.
In order to spread out potential investments, a training
curriculum could be created in phases in order to tailor
the curriculum to the market needs.
Local business can provide a competitive offering as
company training costs will be reduced by
approximately 50% due to reduced travel costs.
