Session 1 Alejo López & Glòria RocaSaskatchewan Lecture Theatre online

Cat Cox & Dragana Van demoortel-IlićSaskatchewan Lecture Theatre online

In 1345, a team of astrologers was summoned by the Pope tomake predictions for the years ahead, as there was a conjunctionof Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn that year. That conjunction wassubsequently blamed for the Black Death, which wiped out halfof Europe three years later. One of those astrologers, the Jewishpolymath Levi benGerson, left a detailed account of his techniques, which we will explore in this session to get a glimpse of howmedieval astrologers worked.

This session will explore the use of astrological charts whenlooking at fictional material such as literature, films, and TVshows. We will look at diverse charts and explore relevantsymbolism that brings together the fictional material and theindividual. Most importantly, we will focus on Jung’s notion ofhealing through the telling of myths and see in which waysastrology can gain new dimensions when used to think aboutworks of art. Horary, natal and event charts will be used.

Weekend Course:Astromapping – the Power of Place

Alejo López and Glòria RocaIt has been said that astrologyis the art ofmeasuring timeand its cycles, and ofinterpreting the celestial code. But, following the secondhermetic principle ofcorrespondence “as above, sobelow”, the journey of thecelestial bodies occurs inspace and has a physicalelement. It is intimately relatedto the Earth thus linking

astrologywith geography. Andwe, earthlings aswe are, notonly live our lives thorough the passage of time, but also throughour bodies, which have a spatial, physical dimension. Theastromapping techniques are ways of understanding howastrology can help us deepen our relationship with our physicalspace, andperhapsmaximiseourpotential throughthisawareness.

TheWeekend Course, Astromapping – the Power of Place, haslimited enrolment. This will run as an online class wherestudents are visible to one another. Sessions will not berecorded. Check that your time zonemakes it reasonable foryou to attend. By enrolling here, you are committing to allsessions in this weekend course.

Session 3 Alejo López & Glòria RocaSaskatchewan Lecture Theatre online

As we begin to emerge from theunprecedented calamity and collectivetrauma of the pandemic, Saturn andUranus square eachother three times this

year. Calls for freedomnowcompetewith voicesof controland restraint. Lookingat theSaturn-Uranus cyclewewillconsider themeaningof thesearchetypal forces togetherwith this stageof the cycle andexploreways tohold andnavigate this polarised tensionbothwithin ourselves andcollectively. Wewill also reflect on the celestial aidwhichmightalsobeavailable tousat this timethroughthehealingofChiron in aspect toSaturn, andJupiter enteringPisces.

JosephCampbell’s philosophyof life issummarised in the familiar phrase: ‘followyour bliss’. In an interview, Campbellstated: ‘If youdo followyour bliss, youputyourself ona kindof track that hasbeen

there all thewhilewaiting for you, and the life youought tobe living is theone youare living.’ As ablueprint for ourindividual life, thebirth chart allowsus to see, symbolically, but clearly, thepath that hasbeenwaiting for us.Wewillexplore the ideaof findingand followingwhat givesus joyand thebarrierswemight need tonegotiate in theprocess.

Session 5 Alejo López & Glòria RocaSaskatchewan Lecture Theatre online

In 2021 and 2022, for the first timesince 1856, Jupiter and Neptune willbe in Pisces, the sign they both rule.Like a rocket, planetary transits can

launch our dreams and desires, but first we have toalign with our spiritual calling, letting feelings of joy, appreciation, enthusiasm and inspiration unfold. In thissession we will see what happened in history duringperiods when these two planets previously met inPisces. Using current transits as a navigation tool, practical ideas will be shared on how to escape ourlimitedmindset and let love create miracles in our lives.

The dynamics of the child can berecognised not only in terms of ourpsychic, inner life (dreams, activeimagination), but also in thephenomena of dependency and

feelings of inadequacy in relation to our environment. We will look at both the archetypal (puella or pueraeternus) and the developmental dimensions of thechild, and their astrological coordinates or significators.Understanding these can be helpful both in healing ourwounds and unlocking our potentials.

The Greek philosopher Heraclitus saidthat change is life’s only constant.Transits of the outer planets transformus, often in radical ways, in the contextof the ever-moving cycles of the planets.

We are shown by the transits and progressions thatmark the flow of life whether it is a ‘time to plant’ or a‘time to pluck up that which is planted’. Each of us hasbeen a witness to, and participant in, the profoundupheaval and uncertainty of the past 18months. Howwe can use our birth charts as compass and guide, tocreate a newworld for ourselves?

Many of us carry the imprint ofpast relationships which stillcause pain in the present. Thecycle of Venus opens us to theinner depths of relationships, bothwith ourselves and others. A

releasingprocess is energisedas insight and compassionare awakened. Astronomically, the exquisite timing andprecise geometry of this cycle also offer an almanac ortemplate of the underworld journey of Inanna, theancient Sumerian goddess, whose story we will explore.

The length of time Saturn requires to pass through theentire zodiac and return to the position it held in the skyat the time of birth is approximately 29.5 years. Theastrological term for this event is the Saturn return.Amidst the growing interest in, and understanding of,the importance that ritual plays in our lives, the Saturnreturn has emerged as an important rite of passage, marking key transitional periods for us all. Based on herdissertation, an auto-ethnography enquiry into Saturn,Liz presents the Saturn return as a form of modern-dayenchantment, whichmarks significant transitionalmoments in astrologers’ lives.

Mars and Venus are in contrast to eachother in one’s nature, and both arenecessary to living a fulfilled life. Weneed our warrior to defend and protectus and fire us into action with courageand daring. We need our peacemaker tofind us places of grace and kindness

with which to heal the harsher experiences of life. Weshall look at Mars and Venus in various positions andaspects and explore what it means to work with thesepowerful dimensions.

Session 7 Alejo López & Glòria RocaSaskatchewan Lecture Theatre online

During the pandemic of 2020-21, astrology groups thatcould not meet in person began tomeet online. Localgroups, committees and councils, conferences andevents very quickly moved to cyberspace. Local groupscould host audiences from all over the world andattendees had a huge range of events to choose from.As we appear to near the end of the pandemic, we hopethat meetings and events will soon be able to take placeagain in the offline world. But will they? What do therecent move of the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction into Airand the 2026 Air trine between Uranus and Plutosuggest? What will post-pandemic astrology look like?

Astrology originated with the beliefthat divinities speak to humanitythrough celestial patterns, and thenmovedon to the classical theory thatthe entire cosmos exists as a singleharmonious and intelligentorganism. And nowwe have Jung’s

theory of the collective unconscious. This session willexamine what wemean by communication with a 'non-humanother', and the implications for fate and freewill.Wewill also introduce the latest concepts fromanthropology.

Gathering Farewell SpeechCat Cox & Dragana Van demoortel-IlićSaskatchewan Lecture Theatre online

According to the ancienttheory of the body politic, societies and nations are asingle entity, like bodies, functioning as a harmoniouswhole. We will look at howastrology devises techniquesto explore these ideas,

primarily national charts and planetary cycles. We willalso consider the nature of symbolism in the astrologyof the collective: are symbols images which stand in forsomething else, or are they alive?

Astrology and dreams are bothsymbolic experiences which areborn from our relationship with thenight. In this session we willexplore the relationship betweendream and astrological symbolism.

Themost important step in interpretation, both ofastrology and dreams, is to understand what the symboldemands of us, in what direction it wants us to go. It isthis turn of the soul that I will be discussing, and itsimportance for the creation of a newworld.

ProfectionsChrisMitchellSaskatchewan Lecture Theatre online

Today, we are used to using progressions andtransits in predictive astrology, but in medievaltimes one go-to method for predictions was thefascinating technique of profections. Thetechnique is simple but effective, and isHellenistic in origin – although it was widely usedin medieval astrology. This workshop willdemonstrate how to use the technique of bothannual and monthly profections, and show howthey can be used effectively together with solarreturns. We will have time to explore thistechnique in practice using some of your owncharts and solar returns.

Creating anAstrological ShrineElizabeth HathwayRector’s Drawing Roomonline

How can astrology be used within a domesticsetting to bring a little magic into our daily lives? How does a space become sacred and how can weuse sacred space to deepen our understanding ofthe natal chart and significant transits to it? In thisworkshop the concept of sacred space will beconsidered, and the creation of personal domesticshrines will play a central role. A ‘do-it-yourself’approach to making astrological talismans –based on our own tradition – supports the makingof personal objects that contain power and carrysignificance for us.

Limited enrolment. The workshops and meditation will run as online groups wherestudents are visible to one another. These groups will not be recorded.
