A. Wireless Server

Steps Required tools/materials

a) Open the wireless server by removing

all the screws on each corner.

-Screwdriver #PH0

a) Loosen and remove the antenna.

b) Loosen the nuts, remove the lock

washer and the front part of the co-axial cable.

c) Pull out the rear part of the co-axial cable from the communication module.

*Be careful with components on the PCB.

a) Inspect the co-axial cable; broken

connection, tears, etc. Inspect the antenna; broken part, etc. Replace the part if it is damaged.

b) Reassemble the parts. The co-axial cable must be laid on the left side, as shown in the photo.

c) Insert the screws and close the wireless server.

*Be careful with components on the PCB.

B. Camera

a) Remove the securing screw from the

camera. Inspect for damages; worn spring loaded pin, damaged threads, etc. Replace the part if it is damaged.

Replace antenna & backplane card a) Remove the rear cover; the 2 screws

are hidden beneath the rubber case. Use the correct screwdriver size.

b) Loosen and remove the screw to the antenna holder.

c) Remove the two cables from the PCB.

d) Remove the co-axial cable from PCB, and the antenna. Be very careful when loosening the nut; Make sure not to break the electronic parts while rotating the spanner. *Be careful with components on the PCB.

e) Inspect for damages; broken wire, loose connection, broken antenna, etc. Replace the part if it is damaged.

f) Reassemble the co-axial cable to the PCB. Be very careful when tightening the nut; Make sure not to break the electronic parts while rotating the spanner

g) Fit back the antenna and the antenna

holder to the back of the rear cover and tighten the antenna with a torque wrench (Torque 1 Nm) *Be careful with components on the PCB.

h) Tighten the screw to the antenna

holder

i) Reconnect the wire cables to the PCB.

-Torx screwdriver #10 -2 x Spanners #8 -1 torque wrench with key-grip open spanner #8 (Torque: 1 Nm)

j) Fit back the rear cover and make sure of that the cables not are pinched between the housing and the rear cover.

Replace battery a) Remove the rear cover; the 2 screws


b) Remove the battery cable from the PCB

c) Remove the spring clip and batteries

d) Take the new battery and make a cut

in the centre of each set.

e) Reinstall the new battery and the spring clip.

f) Fit back the rear cover and make sure of that the cables not are pinched between the housing and the rear cover.

g) Start up a battery conditioning. This is always required after replacement of battery. See page 9

Replacing/Cleaning of front glass: a) Remove the front cover; the 2 screws


b) Inspect for damages; broken, scratches glass. Replace the part if it is damaged.

c) Clean the glass with recommended cleaner and soft cloth

d) Recommended cleaner: Loctite SF 7063 (or similar)

e) DO NOT remove the camera flash board or any other parts from inside of the front glass!

f) Reinstall front cover; the 2 screws are hidden beneath the rubber case. Use the correct screwdriver size.

Removing of support pins: a) Look through the hole and inspect the

4 support pins for damages; wear and tear, chips, etc. Replace the part if it is damaged.

The normal procedure would be to send the cameras to authorized service center for repair and change of cylinder supports. If you are going to perform the change yourself there are a few things to remember. Please be aware of the importance not to damage the camera house when removing the old cylinder supports. We use a special tool for this and would suggest that you fasten a small screw and pull it out.

b) Drill a hole in the middle of the support pin with a 2,5mm drill

c) Fit a screw TPPC 3x10 into the hole with a screw driver.

d) Fit the special made extraction tool against the screw and press out the worn support pin

e) Take a new support pin and press it into the camera house with help of a toggle press.

f) Verify that the support pin have been

fitted properly into the camera house, that there are no gap between the pin and the “camera house”

g) Picture on needed parts

After the exchange it is most important that you perform a camera calibration. There is a possibility that the camera calibration will fail if the difference varies too much. If this is the case, a factory reset must be performed with a special program not available in the field. TruckCam will take no responsibility if your equipment shows incorrect measurements after repair work from unauthorized service partner.

C. Battery Conditioning

Conditions: 20-26 degrees ambient temperature during to complete process. Uninterrupted power supply during to complete process. The battery cycling consists of a discharging and a charging phase. The total cycle takes about 20 hours to complete. If power supply trips during the cycle, the complete process needs to be repeated. Discharging Phase:

a) Put the camera on the charger

b) Hold the OK button (the one opposite to the knob) for 8 sec. The three LEDs on each OK button, and Power LED start to blink, to indicate the discharging phase.

Charging Phase:

c) When the discharging phase is completed, the camera starts to charge the battery; Battery LED will be red.

d) When the charging phase is completed, the POWER LED will be Green.

• The battery conditioning cycle is completed.

Checking the battery time: a) The battery time can be checked

when the camera stands on the charger. Hold the OK button (the one on the same side as the knob) for 8 seconds.

• the LEDs on the flash board indicates the battery time in hours. The number of blinks correspond to the approximate battery time in hours; 13blink is 13hours.

Note: For cameras with radio module “DNT” you can only check battery time direct after the battery conditioning have been performed. If you remove the camera from the charger it will not be possible to check this anymore.

D. Reflective Targets

a) Inspect all 4 target boards for

damages. Replace the part if it is damaged.

b) Inspect all the target markers (decals); dirt, scratches, damages.

c) Clean the target marker with mild soapy water, to remove any dirt. Wipe the marker dry with a soft cloth

d) If the marker should be replaced. Use guide pins. Remove the old marker and clean the target board surface thoroughly, make sure there are no dirt. Use the 2 holes as reference, use the guide pins and align and paste it on the target board.

Note: If you exchange the small marker, you must also exchange the big one since the guide pins goes into the big marker. (It’s possible though to change the big one without having to change the small one.)

e) Clean and degrease all parts from step 1 to 4.

a) Reassemble the snail gear, bracket

and knob assembly into to the frame;

b) Reassemble the bearings and main screw

c) Install the gear assembly. Grease the gear assembly and snail gear.

d) Place the 2 frames together; make sure the screw holes are aligned.

a) Reassemble all the leg assembly; use

Loctite 2400.

b) Gently knock the main screw and ball bearings; make sure they are sitting probably in position.

c) Adjust the main screw; Arrow must be pointing at the mark.

d) Tighten the main screw. Use Loctite 2400. If the mark is moved, you can still adjust it.

e) Install the screws onto the rotating hub. Use Loctite 2400.

plates; grooves need to be thoroughly cleaned, and free from any dirt or sand.

b) Inspect both plates for damages; cracks, dents, bending etc. Replace the part if it is damaged.

c) Clean and inspect V-rail seal for

damages; tears, cracks, etc. Replace the part if it is damaged.

d) Apply a light coat of glue at the

bottom side of the v-rail seal. Assemble it onto to the silver plate.

plates; in every groove.
