ABOUT OUR FOUNDER Shri A.KRISHNAPPAJI :

Our honorable Krishnappa sir the founder ofSEA group of Institutions was a dynamic personality. He was born on 10th April in the year 1945 at Devasandra. He completed his education in this very place, K.R.Puram. His professional life startedin the year 1965 in the ITI factory. He marriedMrs. Manjula who has always been great supportto him since1975. He stepped into the eld ofpolitics in the year 1985 from the Varthur Constituency and ever since achieved many goals throughout his life.He was the one who brought in the BMTC bus facility into K.R.Puram. He served as the KPCC as the Joint Secretary during 1988-1992 and from1994 to 2002 he served the secretary. In 2008 he served as the coordinator for the same.

The Bharathi Vidyaniketan School at Devasandra was the very rst school that was started in the locality because of his efforts, and later the PU and Degree college were introduced. As days went by, his dreamand vision led him to start the SEA Group of Institutions in the year 2001 and now we can see this institution standing rm and spreading his vision far and wide. In the year 2000, for his distinguished services tothe community he received the “Priyadarshini award”In 2003 he received the “Jawaharlal Nehru” Excel lency award. In 2012 he received the “Rajiv Gandhi” Excellency award from the globaleconomic progress and research, and received the “Mahatma Gandhi” Gold medal.

S.E.A College of Science Commerce & ArtsThe Indian Council for Business Education (ICBE), held its meeting with discussions revolving aroundthe third Annual conference at the SEA College of Science, Commerce and Arts, K.R. Puram, Bangaloreon 11th June 2017. It was presided over by the Chairman of ICBE, Prof. DR. B.C. Sanjeevaiah, alongwith the council's General Secretary Prof. DR. M. Muninarayanappa, the Chief editor & Director of SEA group of Institutions Prof. Dr. K. Viyyanna Rao and the Principal of SEA Degree College, Prof. Dr. T.N. Muthe Gowda. The salient point of discussion also included the allocation of resources forthe NAAC orientation program which is to be held in SEA Degree College in association with ICBEon 22nd June, 2017.

Organized a one day workshop on June 22, 2017 in association with ICBE(Indian Council forBusiness Education) on “Asessment and accreditation of Educational Institutions quality concerns as aninitial step to get accreditation from NAAC. The workshop was presided over by Dr. K Viyyanna Rao,the Director of the SEA Group of Institutions. The workshop was inaugurated by the Honorablechief guest Dr.N.R Shetty Chancellor of Central University , Gulbarga Karnataka. In his inaugural speech,spoke on the importance of Assessment and accreditation of educational institutions and about therole of teachers in enhancing the quality of teaching and maintaining the quality throughout for a better recognition among the educational communities.

Report on the one-day seminar on Various Aspects of GST

A one day seminar on the “Various Aspects of Goods andService Act” was organized by the SEA College of Science,Commerce and Arts on 20th July, 2017 at the AC SeminarHall. The event was conducted by SICASA (South IndiaCharted Accountant Students Association) in coordinationwith ICAI.

CA A.B. Geetha the chairperson of SICASA Bangalore branch,CA B.T. Shetty the Chairman of SICASA, CA SandeshKutnicker and CA Mohammed yusuf were warmly receivedand honored by the Director of the SEA Group of InstitutionsDR. K. Viyyanna Rao and the Principal Dr. T.N. Muthe Gowdaof SEA Degree college.

“A LEADER IS ONE WHO KNOWS THE WAY, GOES THE WAY AND SHOWS THE WAY”

Investiture Ceremony marked the rst celebration of the academic year. It is solemn occasioncelebrated to confess titles and invest powers to the elected members. Investiture Ceremony 2017was held on 28th June 2017. The dignitaries on the stage involved the college Principal Dr.Muthe Gowda T.N.. and Vice Principal Dr. S. Raji.

The ceremony began with the invocation of God with a prayer song by BBM students.

The Principal in his brief speech congratulated the newly elected student council members- President,Vice President and Secretary and appreciated the efforts of the staff members for initiating studentcouncil elections and investiture ceremony for the rst time in the college. He stressed theimportance of leadership abilities and discipline among the newly elected members which is essentialin the smooth functioning of the college.

This was followed by the formal oath taking ceremony. The oath to abide by the rules of the collegeand to work in co-ordination, was administrated by Dr. S. Raji, Vice Principal to all the elected studentcouncil members as well as the elected class Representatives. Asst. Prof. Javeed Pasha, Departmentof Commerce addressed the gathering with a few motivational quotes.

Finally, the newly elected members thanked the class representatives for electing them and promisedto follow the rules of the college and work for the betterment of the college. The Investiture ceremony came to an end with the singing of the National Anthem and distribution of sweets.

A report on the Parent Orientation held on July 15, 2017

Another milestone in the history of the SEA College of Science, Commerce andArts, a Parent Orientation Programmewas conducted at the SEA College Auditorium, an initiative to extend awarm welcome to the new studentsand the parents and to give them a bird'seye view of the vision, mission and mottoof the college.

The orientation started with a welcome speech by the Head of the Department of CommerceMrs. Hemavathi Mattaparti who gave the parents and the students a few details on the syllabus,valuation system and the facilities extended to the college by the management.

The Director of the SEA Group of Institutions Dr. K Viyyanna Rao, in his address to the gatheringhighlighted on the the features of the college, about the faculty and the infrastructure. He requested the parents to encourage their children to make use of all the facilities that are availableto the students and utilize their stay for the next three years in the SEA Campus in a constructivemanner. The parents were given a suggestion to meet up with the respective class teachersperiodically and follow up on their wards , to nurture their intellectual growth and maintain verycordiality with the lecturers.

His speech was followed by a few of the nal year NCC students such as Mr. Pramod (nal year Bcom), Mr. ShanthKumar(Final Year Bcom) and Miss. Bindu (nal year BA), who highlighted on theimportance and value of being a part of the NCC. Miss. Bindu observed in her speech that beinga part of the NCC had given her physical and mental strength and she requested the audience toempower their girl child by enrolling in NCC.

At the time of parent interaction, few of the parents spoke on their opinion about the college. Mr. Rohan Kumar Singh, a parent said that after intense research about the institution he hadenrolled his son in SEA Degree College and he was impressed by the infrastructure of the campus.Mrs. Pavithra , an alumnus of the SEA Degree(2008 batch) and who has enrolled some of hernieces and cousins to the college for the current academic session shared some of her experienceand said she is proud to be a part of this ever growing institution.

At the student interaction, students of BSC, BCA and Commerce shared their opinion on the fewdays they had spent till now and everyone shared a common opinion that they are delighted to bea part of this prestigious institution.

In his address to the gathering, Dr. TN. MutheGowda, the Principal of the college, advised theparents to maintain a cordial relationship with the respective class teachers till their ward gets hisor her degree. He also insisted on the parents keeping a close tab on their ward's activities in thecampus, attendance, uniform, punctuality etc. He highlighted on the extracurricular activitiesprovided by the college and asked the parents to encourage and motivate their children to makeuse of them as many students from the college have already brought accolades to the college by earning more than 15 to 20 gold medals in sports and such activities. Above all , he said being good and spreading goodness should be the main focus of the students and parents.

The function was presided over by the Director Dr. K Viyyanna Rao and ended satisfactorily witha word of thanks from the Principals to the audience.

S.E.A. College of Engineering & Technology, celebrated the GRADUATION DAY for the outgoing nal year students of 2017 batch (B.E., M.Tech & MBA) on 07/07/2017 in the MULTI-PURPOSE AUDITORIUM.The event was Graced by the Chief Guest Shri. V.P. Ikkeri, IAS (Commissioner, Survey, Settlement & Land Records, GOK) along with our Honorable Chairperson, Secretary and CEO.

The chief guest administered the Convocation Oath to students and also delivered the GraduationDay Address. Merit prizes were distributed to College toppers and department toppers and all students were given course completion certicate and a Momento.

Conceptual teaching along with Research and Development makes the institute unique and providesan opportunity to produce competent and employable engineers with a broader outlook. SEA College of Engineering & Technology, Bangalore, has been following this novel model and exposing the students to the current technological and industrial trends.

On June 9, 2017 Honorable Secretary Shri. DT Srinivasa, Secretary SEA Group of Institutions, Dr. KV Rao, Director, SEA Group of Institutions, Dr. VR Manjunath, Principal, SEA College of Engineering & Technology., inaugurated a New R&D Center in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The present R&D Center carries out Research activities in the eld of Synthesis and Characterization of Metal Matrix Composites, with the available facilities under the guidance of Dr. Manohar H.S, Head, R&D Center, Department of Mechanical Engineering, SEACET. The availablefacilities are useful for BE, M.Tech and Ph.D Scholars to undergo their project and research activitiesin the eld of Metal Matrix Composites. The output of these developments is that, the in-housestudents can be guided on the projects related to MMCs by the faculty, and also the facilities can be utilized by the students and Research scholars of neighbour institutions. The faculty members are also trained in the current technological and research trends in Metal Matrix Composites.
