SPACED REPETITIONSpaced learning methodology was initially developed and studied by Harvard Medical School Associate Professor, Dr. B. Price Kerfoot, as a method to improve the long-term knowledge retention of medical trainees. ABSITE Quest has partnered with Qstream to deliver surgical residents the first, exclusive spaced learning Q-Bank to optimize ABSITE performance and retention of surgical knowledge.

TESTING EFFECTHow well are you able to navigate your neural networks and retrieve a piece of retained knowledge when asked? Think of testing as an active exercise in knowledge retrieval. The process is known as the testing effect and strengthens with repetition. More frequent, low stakes testing is the most effective approach for learning & retaining knowledge. The more you practice (Q-Bank), the better you play (ABSITE).

REAL RESULTSOver 20 peer-reviewed clinical trials have been conducted to test the effectiveness of spaced learning utilizing Qstream. Studies consistently reveal improved knowledge retention, more consistent engagement in education, and boosts in both learning proficiency & efficiency with Qstream’s mobile learning platform delivering daily push-notifications to educate today’s medical trainees.

ABSITE Quest has partnered with Qstream to deliver high-yield review questions

to surgical trainees. Established in 2008, Qstream is a microlearning pioneer with a

commitment to designing and delivering scientifically proven learning programs to

its users. Proven now by 22 randomized, peer reviewed clinical trials their system

has shown improved long-term knowledge retention up to 170%.

▪ High-yield review questions are sent to ABSITE Quest users daily

to complete and review. Weekends too, no days off!

▪ Question stems mimic the difficulty and style of the actual

ABSITE exam, while detailed answer explanations guide users

through all the necessary learning & high-yield review points.

HOW WORKS

TESTING EFFECT

SPACED LEARNING & REPETITION▪ Correct answers are repeated in 21 days until correctly answered

twice & then “retired” from the user's question deck.

▪ Incorrect answers are spaced to repeat at 8 days until the user gains

proficiency & answers the question correctly twice.

▪ Users can access all previously “retired questions” for further review.
