ABOUT SSMRV

SSMRV College, which runs UG, PG Programmes and research centre has been a frontrunner in every aspect of academic pursuits such as conducting of classes, sports, extracurricular activities, guest lectures, seminars, workshops, conferences etc. The College focuses on the holistic development of a student by implementing a Unique model named “360°+1 Education for Wholeness Model”. Heading in this direction, The College has established 29 Activity Centres ranging from Sports, NSS and NCC to socially relevant activity centres like Centre for Community Services, Eco Club, Theatre Club, and Health Club among many others. Taking it a step ahead, the Colleges often invites prominent personalities from various elds like, Industry heads, Top Academicians, Political Leaders, Artists and people of high stature to enlighten the students and Faculty Members in their respective eld of study.

The 360°+1 (the newly added +1 representing the Psychological Well-being) Education for Wholeness works on a 6-Dimensional Model which comprises of Academics, Skill Development, Extracurricular Activities, Career Development, Ethics and Self Governance and Psychological Well-being.

Academics – To excel in academics and industry, and also inculcate students in employment readiness the college has introduced various Career-oriented add-on and certicate courses as Tally, Advanced Excel, Cloud Computing, Android Development, Python Programming, Digital Marketing, Stock Market etc. Curriculum delivery is effectively done through diverse and innovative teaching pedagogy like Power point presentations, Seminars, Management Games, Peer learning along with case studies, projects, role play and guest lectured by the industry experts in order to expose students to contemporary topics. With the distinctive interest in students scholastic, faculties of various departments have started academic centres as- An Exhaustive English language lab in training students' communicational setbacks, Fine tips in nance club, learning a different approach in Marketing Club and Accounting Club.

Skill Development – To add on to mundane classroom expertise the students are boosted to get hands-on experience through teaching and corporate internships, undertaking socially relevant projects, visit to industries, institutions. And the most operating formally organized peer teaching among student group is its recipient.

Extracurricular activities – For the overall development of the pupils, multiple activity centres are established in different genres to create a new charismatic approach in students' life such as Eco Club- simplies 'The Grass Is Green Where You Water It' and MUN is a rare initiation to make students understand about human dignity and respecting it without border issues and many more like NCC, NSS, Community Services, Rotaract Club, Health Club, Heritage Club etc., functioning towards institutional social responsibility initiatives.

Career Development - Training and Placement Centre of the college works on a '4-Dimensional Approach' that includes Proling, Career Counselling, Training and Placement. The Centre conducts Psychometric Test, Career Counselling, Personality Development Programs, Pre-placement training programs. The objective of this approach is to mould the students into employable, productive and skilled human resource.

Ethics and Self Governance – It's an initiation to build Trust and Leadership in students and to teach them to earn trust and the power of ethical governance in life, Indian traditions and culture, moral code of conduct, national integration and social responsibilities.

Psychological Well-being - SSMRV College with its huge ecological ambience has also safeguarded the psychological well-being of the students by providing a counselling cell to keep the spirits on and

their optimistic participation throughout the academic year. It is an initiative by the college, with the objective to shape the personality of the students besides imparting academics, to have more conversations about their psycho social and emotional well-being and provide opportunities to develop and nurture the competencies required for a holistic life.

Infrastructure - The college has ecological infrastructure with state-of the-art computer labs, Business lab, English language lab. The college has ICT enabled classrooms, air conditioned seminar hall and auditorium, AV room, multi-purpose activity centre, playground, open-air auditorium etc. The library is on par automated with access to e-journals through INFLIBNET and DELNET. The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled. The campus is also equipped with public addressing system.

Outcome – The reection of these consistent efforts were seen when the College received an 'A' Grade during its 3rd Accreditation cycle in the Academic Year 2016-17.The College has an overall pass percentage of 92% and a consistent placement record of 96%. Students have brought laurels to the College by securing a rank and a Gold medal in the Bangalore University Examinations. There are academically brilliant students who secure 100/100 in various subjects every year. The College also featured among the Top 5 Colleges in India in two categories - Best Value for Money and Best Male Female Ratio in the India Today – MDRA Best Colleges surveys of 2017-18 and 2018-19 respectively. From the past 3 Academic Years, the College has been a participant in the prestigious NIRF ranking conducted by MHRD to rank the Top 100 Colleges in India.

INAUGURATION OF FIRST YEAR U.G. CLASSES

Inauguration of rst year B.Com., B.B.A., and B.C.A., classes for the academic year 2019-20 was organized on 10 July , 2019 at College Quadrangle. The Chief Guest of the function was Sri. Srivigraha Dasa, Team Lead, Folk youth Empowerment Club, ISKCON, Bengaluru, Guest of Honor; Dr.Woodey P. Krishna, Engineer, Educationalist, Social Activist, Humanist. Sri. M.K. Ramachandra, Chairperson, Governing Council, SSMRV College presided over the function. The event began with the invocation song and lighting of the lamp.

An enlightening speech by our Principal Dr. S Anil Kumar encouraged and motivated the young minds. Chief Guest and Guest of Honour for the day gave an inspirational speech on how to lead a fruitful life and enhance personal skills to be a successful person. Alumni students of SSMRV College Ms. Meena, Mr. Afreedi & Mr. Chandramuthu shared their experience about their journey in the college in the past three years.

The College annual magazine 'Spoorthi' was also released on this auspicious occasion. Followed by the inaugural function students were taken to respective classes for their induction programme conducted by the respective class teachers.
