A Special Thank You to our Sponsors

"Love and blessings upon you and may you have a perfect "A-440" Day!” WinonaGrant, 1919-2014

This Festival is dedicated in loving memory to Winona Grant and her family. Winona was a

staunch supporter of the Flute Guild whose lifelong passion for music, flute and teaching combined

in her long career as a flute teacher. Students all over San Diego benefitted from Winona's

dedication to their musical and personal development. She lovingly introduced her students to

professional standards of learning and performance, teaching them attention to detail and

perseverance along with support and compassion.

Winona supported many church and community causes throughout her life, including the

Congregational Church, the PTA, Camp Fire Girls, Hilltop High Band Boosters, and Job’s

Daughters. One public acknowledgement she received was the City of Chula Vista proclaiming

August 9, 2009 as "Winona Grant Day" in Chula Vista. She died in 2014, but her legacy lives on

through the many lives she touched and the musicians she nurtured. We are so grateful for the

continuing support of the Flute Guild from her family. Friends wishing to make a donation in

Winona's memory are encouraged to donate to The San Diego Flute Guild (SDFG), PO Box 232453,

Encinitas, CA 92023. Sandiegofluteguild.org.
