Students’ Counselling Centre 2020-21

Students’ Counselling Centre

In view of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the explosion of information through print and

electronic media had raised many questions in the minds of the students. In this regard with

reference to the UGC guidelines and letter from the Higher Education Department,

Maharashtra, the ‘Students’ Counselling Centre’ has been established for the students of

Amravati district Colleges. A thirteen-member committee has been constituted to monitor

concerns/grievances of the students occur due to COVID -19. The aim of this centre was to

guide and help the students in the situation that arises due to COVID-19 Pandemic outbreak.

Objectives

• To aware, the students about the personal safety of our self arise due to COVID-19

Pandemic

• To make students fear-free about COVID-19 Pandemic and convey them proper

detailed information about COVID-19 significance and outbreak

• To help them to reach their home safely

• To convey to them the authentic and proper information about the conduct of summer

examination by Sant Gadgebaba Amravati University, Amravati

• To make available the e-content of the course curriculum and to organize online

lectures or convey through WhatsApp.

Action Plan

• To convey the mobile and email of the committee members Counselling Centre to the

Amravati Districts Colleges.

• To form the Whats App group of the committee and collect the contact numbers of

teachers from Amravati district colleges.

• To prepare the Video and Audio clip about this Counselling Centre and publish it

through local TV Channels and Akashwani, also to publish press notes in the

newspaper.

• To forward the authentic and correct information/letters/guidelines about conduct of

examination by SGBAU

• To organize the online meeting of the committee members to discuss and decide the

working of the committee

103 students registered by submitting their information. Out of the registered

students till the date of 30th August 2020, 72 girls and 31 boys have been registered

including 65 BSc., 15 BCA, 12 MSc and 11 BVoc students.

Youth Leadership Development Initiatives 2020-21

Youth Leadership Development Initiatives:

Many students participated in the youth leadership development initiative conducted by Vivekananda Kendra

Kanyakumari's Amravati Kendra for college students. The program consisted of online exams conducted on 9th

Sept. 2020 and online one-day personality camp and a five-day youth leadership development camp. 32

students of Career Cell participated in this activity. The study material in the form of the book entitled

“Vivekananda Rock Memorial: A Perennial Source of Inspiration” was provided by the organizers and the test

was conducted on the same.

Security in the use of social media 2020-21

Security in the use of social media

At present, the use of social media by all students has become a major topic of discussion.

Through this, many students and ordinary citizens have been deceived. In order to create

awareness among the students, students were encouraged to be aware and control their use of

social media through various videos. Following videos were shared with the students and

through discussion was conducted on the same issues. In these rounds of discussions several

points of threat for the youngsters were came out. Students were very satisfied with the

sharing and discussions. In all 72 students participated in this series conducted during 7th Oct.

Digital and Finance Literacy Course Program

2020-21

Digital and Finance Literacy Course Program:

Digital and Financial Literacy Course Program was implemented by National Skills

Development Corporation, Government of India. Black Dot ESDC, associated with Learnet

Skills Limited (formerly IL&FS Skills) was a joint venture with National Skill Development

Corporation (NSDC) launched a 20-hour digital training programme to help Graduates up-

skill their knowledge and competencies to manage their earnings, savings and finance

effectively and ensure their own safety, financial stress life with sound health and hygiene.

A special session was held for the college students to register for this course. Registered

students were asked to submit information from this link

registered for this course. 232 girls and 93 boys participated in this course. Students of 130

Highways - Entrepreneurship and Administrative Services

A joint venture between the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Maharashtra

State and Maharashtra Information Technology Assistance Centre under Career Katta was

focused in this program. It was organized in the collaboration of the following colleges –

1. Vidyabharati College, Amravati

2. Brijlal Seed Science College, Amravati

3. G S Tompe College, Chandur Bazar

4. Vinayak Vidnyan College, Nandgaon Khande.

The programme was virtually conducted on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 12.30pm to 2.00pm

on Zoom online meeting platform. Students registered using google form linked herewith

in the online programme. Total 127 students participated from shivaji science college,

Amravati.
