AS SAFETY DEMANDS are constantly increasing, we

remain in the front line among producers of safe and

reliable vehicle adaptation products. Climate, Vibration,

Life Cycle, Crash and Pull tests are examples of what

our products have to endure in order to meet current

standards in the vehicle industry. Certification under

the quality system ISO 9001:2008 in the areas of design,

development and production plus our final checks

and testing, provide documented peace of mind for

everyone.

In May 2009, the Autoadapt Safety Centre became

the first accredited Pull test lab in our industry,

accredited by SWEDAC according to ISO/IEC 17025.

In 2011, Unwin opened the Unwin Dynamic Testing

Laboratory, complete with a Crash test bed and sled.

Standards and PaperworkAs the rules and regulations regarding vehicle building

and fitting differ widely all over the world, we support

our customers with extensive documentation. We

will provide you with all the necessary certificates and

documents required by road authorities and vehicle

inspection agencies.

Training to Ensure QualityVehicle adaptation is highly responsible work that

demands a great deal of technical expertise and a strong

focus on safety. The Autoadapt training department

perform training on location or in-house at Autodapt,

free of charge.

from product design to manufacturing takes place at

the respective main facilities in the United States, the

United Kingdom and Sweden. By keeping manufacturing

in-house, we can ensure a high level of quality. Not only

do we have the possibility to perform random quality

controls but should a problem arise the source of the

error can be found and eliminated quickly.

Short lead times are another great benefit of local

manufacturing that allows us to quickly implement

changes in production and handle custom orders.

8 Mounting brackets

All our swivel seats from the Turnout to the 6-Way Base, all of our wheelchair hoists, BraunAbility wheelchair lifts and FEAL tailboard ramps have one thing in common. Mounting brackets, the interface between our product and the vehicle it will be installed in. Installation of these products in a vehicle require some sort of mounting bracket. We offer either vehicle specific or universal mounting brackets. Some of our products have both specific and universal however we do recommend you always use the vehicle specific mounting bracket when available.

Safety, safety and more safety.

We know that we talk a lot about safety, maybe it’s a Swedish thing or maybe it’s because we believe that everyone should be entitled to the same safety. You can give your customers that very same safety. We provide you with mounting brackets for our swivel seats, our hoists, lifts and ramps. In turn they will provide you with peace of mind.

If you use an Autoadapt product in combination with our mounting brackets you know it will be a safe and proper installation. In fact, we put the same high requirements on our mounting brackets as we do on the products they are intended for.

Vehicle specific mounting brackets

If we have a vehicle specific mounting bracket for a cer-tain product, you know that the product in question will fit in that specific vehicle. Even better, with the vehicle specific mounting bracket you know that installation will be a lot quicker and easier than with a universal moun-ting bracket.

Our vehicle specific mounting brackets make installation easier, faster and you get all the parts you need for a proper installation. All in all, vehicle specific mounting brackets is better for everyone.

Universal mounting brackets

As much as we would love to say that we have specific mounting brackets for every single vehicle and model out there, we simply don’t have the manpower to keep up with the entire automotive industry, yet. In the meantime we have the universal mounting brackets.

In the universal mounting bracket kit you get all the parts needed. The difference is that you will have to work the pieces before you can use them, meaning measuring, cutting, bending and drilling.

12 Getting seated Turnout

Turnout®

Swivels the car seat out towards the user.

The Turnout is a swivel seat designed for those who find it difficult to enter a vehicle or make a transfer from the wheelchair. Installed as a layer between the vehicle’s floor and the car seat the Turnout enables the car seat to be rotated facing outwards. An added bonus is that the rotated seat will be a little bit further out, in other words closer to the user.

Out of all our Swivel Seats, this is the simplest and most economical solution. It is suitable for both drivers and passengers and is available with manual swivel as Turnout and with powered swivel as Turnout E. Both models come in either a 2-door or 4-door version.

The Turnout BIS B-Max is a complete solution for the Ford B-Max. The kit includes the Turnout swivel base, vehicle specific mounting bracket and a seat with integrat-ed belt. The kit has passed both crash and pull tests.

Turny® Low VehicleSwivels the car seat and extends it almost completely outside the vehicle.

The Turny Low Vehicle is a swivel seat that will allow the user to get seated outside the vehicle, before being comfortably moved to a safe position inside. Having the car seat outside of the vehicle can be very helpful when getting seated or making the transfer from a wheelchair.

The Turny Low Vehicle is the most advanced swivel seat on the market today. Its many unique features makes it possible to adapt car models previously thought impossi-ble to adapt with a swivel seat.

20 Getting seated 6-Way Base

6-Way BaseMoves the driver’s seat backwards and swivels it towards the user, inside the vehicle.

The 6-Way Base is a solution that makes it possible to make the transfer from wheelchair to driver’s seat inside the vehicle. The seat can be moved backwards and swivelled inwards as well as be adjusted in height. This allows you to make an unobstructed downwards transfer, both to and from the wheelchair. As an added benefit, the adjustment options makes it easy to set the perfect position for safe driving.

22 Getting seated Carony Classic

Carony® ClassicA wheelchair that transforms into a car seat, while the user stays seated.

The Carony Classic is a wheelchair that lets the user stay seated while transferring to the car seat. By docking the wheelchair to either a swivel seat or seat lift, the wheel-chair seat can be slid off its base and onto the docking plate where the seat locks safely in place and becomes the car seat. In short, a user can move from wheelchair to car seat and vice versa completely without lifting.

Available with 12” or 24” wheels and suitable for people of all sizes including those of short stature and children.

26 Getting seated Carony Go

Carony® GoA powered wheelchair that transforms into a car seat, while you stay seated.

The Carony Go is a powered wheelchair that lets you stay seated while transferring to the car seat. By docking the wheelchair to either a swivel seat or seat lift, the wheel-chair seat can be slid off its base and onto the docking plate where the seat locks safely in place and becomes the car seat. This can be very useful if you are a heavy person and your carer’s strength is limited or if moving from the wheelchair is painful for you.

The Carolift 325 wheelchair hoist is designed to be easily taken apart and reassembled for each use. This makes it a suitable solution for vehicles with small boot spaces such as sedans. Carolift® 40A flexible wheelchair hoist for most vehicles.

The Carolift 40 provides excellent reach, even around to the side of the vehicle to pick up a wheelchair from the pavement. At the same time, it is easy to guide a load through narrow openings. The jointed arm is what makes this possible, in essence the arm can be short or long as needed.

Swing-A-WayA swivelling wheelchair lift that can handle tight parking spaces.

The Swing-A-Way gives the user the ability to park close to buildings or narrow pavements as the deployed platform protrudes no more from the side of the vehicle than the fully opened front door. Heavy duty rail

Tried and tested over many years and first choice for many specifiers and vehicle converters, thank to its ease of installation and strength.

Low Profile Rail is installed by cutting a slit in the floor, in which the rails are placed. The rails protrude 3.5mm from the finished floor.

Can be cut to length under special order and is supplied drilled.

Surface mounted makes this rail simple and quick to fit in to most vehicle floors. More importantly it enables floor mounting in vehicles where a conversion using a flush fitted rail is not possible. In the finished floor the rails protrude 13.5mm.

Surface Rail can also, cant rail for a third point passenger restraint fitment or used as a wall storage rail for unused equipment.

Can be cut to length under special order and is supplied drilled.

Ideal for coach built conversions, this rail considerably increases the structural integrity of the vehicle floor strength.

Crossit will help achive an upright sitting position which is required in order for the regular safety belt in vehicles to work properly.

Crossit can be used in any seat, provided there is an open-ing between the seat and the backrest. It is well suited for both private users and for public transportation.

If the passenger cannot or doesn’t wish to have the belts crossed over the chest, you can strap the belts vertically and use the chest buckle to keep them fixed over the body.

A powered parking brake assists in activating/deactivating the parking brake at the touch of a button. Carobrake 700 is a kit to convert a standard manual parking brake into a powered parking brake. The actuator “pulls” the original parking brake wire with a force of up to 1700 N. Mounted inside or under the vehicle.

A-HatchConverts a standard manual rear hatch into an automatic rear hatch.

A pneumatic hatch opener assists in opening and closing the rear hatch. Operated by a switch or by a wireless remote control. A-Hatch does not prevent the hatch from being opened or closed manually. Delivered complete with a universal bracket. The stroke length of the cylinder is 600 mm.

For vehicles without an electric hatch lock, the accessory Hatch Lock Opener can be integrated into the system.

Top SliderPortable person lifting aid for roof railings.

A portable lifting aid, which is fixed to a pair of Thule carriers (not included) on a vehicle with roof railing. The passenger is lifted by a self-locking lift mechanism and moved in or out of the vehicle by sliding along the vertical bar, which is fixed to the roof rack. When the lift proce-dure is ready, the vertical bar and the support pillar are stored inside a tube on the roof rack.

It is movable between vehicles and requires no permanent modifications to the vehicle or interference with its safety systems.
