ministerial staff and my beloved students, wish you all a wonderful evening.
Amala Mary Rani Public School is coming under Franciscan Clarist Congregation,
Assissi Province, Thrissur, which is being run by the Mary Rani Educational and
Charitable Trust.
I have great pleasure to present you the Annual Report. It showcases the paragon
of success, achievements and glories of our school in the academic year 2018-19.
We strive for excellence in everything we do. Amala Mary Rani Public School has
successfully accomplished 5 years of glorious service in the field of education. It
has been a never ending saga of relentless striving for excellence not only in the

academic but also in extracurricular, cultural and social activities. Education has
the most important role in the character formation of the students, especially in
inculcating human and moral values. We impart quality education by nurturing the
innate and intrinsic talents of the students and holistic grooming that enable them
to face the growing challenges of life. During the past years the school has
achieved much in its development and in its performance. I thank God for His
indescribable gift and all the people who were instrumental in making it a reality.
With profound gratitude to the Lord Almighty and sincere appreciation for all the
team members of Amala Mary Rani Public School family, I present before you the
annual report for the Academic Year 2018-19. Here is a glance at the various
activities and achievements of our school.
OUR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
The golden doors of this temple of learning re-opened on 1st June with an
auspicious vidyarambham ceremony. Rev. Sr. Starlet Scaria, Manager of this
Public School lighted the lamp of wisdom and rendered a motivating talk. Our
students are our inherent wealth and they have made a stellar performance
throughout this academic year in various arenas of activity. Our school has been
consistently securing 100% results in class X in Board Examination from 1st batch
onwards . They achieved a glorious victory in CBSE Examination in 2018 also,
with 100% First Class, 60% Distinction and the top scorer is Catherine. We
conducted Merit Day on June 30th for honouring them. All these high performers
and other students are pursuing their education in various reputed institutions.
STAFF
The school is blessed with a team of 33 teachers, who are highly motivated,
dedicated and empathetic to the needs of the students who upgrade their
knowledge and methodologies in teaching according to the changing trends of

education. We believe that learning takes place all the time and everywhere. We
have a vibrant team of co- curricular teachers for music, dance, yoga , karate,
violin , guitar, keyboard, drawing, band, art and craft. The quality of the physical
environment in which children learn is a critical education capacity packer which
contributes to their academic success and well being. Our school offers all facility
to create the right environment and ambience for growing minds. Spacious class
rooms, seminar halls, open halls, fully equipped labs, counseling cell, smart rooms,
smart board, art room are all noticeable features of the school. We have six school
buses plying for the conveyance of students . Training is given in football, kabadi
and athletics. Students are encouraged to develop their leadership qualities through
9 clubs and 4 houses . Our Manager Rev. Sr. Starlet Scaria forms a highly
successful formula, to ease and have a smooth flow of operations. To provide
better quality of teaching, teacher should know the family back ground of each and
every student. So our teachers visit the houses of the students which help us to
make remarkable changes in their overall behaviour and academic performances.
TEACHERS INSERVICE TRAINING & WORKSHOPS
In keeping with the schools policy of continuous up gradation of knowledge and
skills, our teachers attended various workshops and seminars organized by
Sahodaya School Complex , Thrissur and other Educational agencies so as to
improve their academic transaction skills and to update their capability. Few of
them are listed below.
1. Our four teachers have attended capacity building programme for Science,
Maths, English, Social Science organized by Sahodaya School Complex
,Thrissur on 4th August at Crescent Public School, Irinjalakuda.
2. Physical Education Sir has participated in the one day workshop of ‘ KIDS
ATHLETICS’ organized by Athletic Association, Thrissur on 5th July at
Vimala College, Thrissur.

3. Our three teachers have attended Maths Professional Development
Workshop organized by Goyal Brothers Prakashan at Thrissur.
4. Physical Education Sir has attended the Capacity Building Programme by
Sahodaya Academic Council on 19th September at BVB, Thrissur.
5. One teacher has attended a workshop on “ Teaching Mathematics with
Manipulative”, organized by RAMANUJAN MUSEUM AND MATH
EDUCATION CENTRE at Thrissur.
6. Our two teachers have attended training programme for Hindi teachers
organized by Madhubun Educational Books on 3rd November 2018 at
Thrissur.
7. One teacher has attended Capacity Building Programme for Maths teacher
organised by Sahodaya School Compex Thrissur on 10th November 2018 at
Sree Gokulam Public School, Pazhuvil.
8. All The teachers have attended one day orientation programme for teachers
organized by Franciscan Clarist Congregation, Assissi Province, Thrissur at
Little Flower College, Guruvayur.
STUDENTS ENRICHMENT PROGRAMMES
To ensure that our students are well equipped with knowledge and moral values to
face any challenge. We have focused sessions of special topic including Faith
vision, basic life support, health and hygiene for girls, leadership skill,
motivational classes, career guidance , counseling etc. On October 15th and 16th a
retreat was conducted for the students. On October 15th there was class conducted
for both Catholics and Hindus, and on October 16th, exclusively for Catholic.
SCHOOL PARLIAMENT ELECTION
The school witnessed the election of the school parliament on 12th July 2018.
Master Nandha Kishor K S was elected as Head boy and Kumari Ann Maria A J as
the Head girl along with other parliament members. The investiture ceremony for

the newly elected members was held in grand way with sashes being handed over
to the members of the parliament by the Principal and Manager and made their
commitment through the oath taking.
SCHOOL KALOTSAV
On 3rd and 4th August Amala Mary Rani Public School celebrated Kalotsav. The
preparation for Kalotsav started 2 weeks earlier. For that all students were divided
into 4 groups. The students form H S , U P and LP section competing in a variety
of offstage and onstage items incorporating their creative talents. Both the days
were magical and they filled the students with courage and confidence to face the
crowd. Student’s talents were appreciated and awarded.
SPORTS DAY CELEBRATION
On 8th and 9th November 2018 Amala Mary Rani Public School celebrated
Sports Day. Sr. Reena Porathur, Principal inspired and enlightened the students
with her powerful words and inaugurated the Sports Day by lighting the lamp.
Thereafter the sports Torch was lit by her and handed over to the school leader and
then to the house captains. Various sports items were conducted for the students in
full swing and everyone participated very enthusiastically. All enjoyed the
programmes and prizes were given to the winners on the same day. In the Thrissur
Sahodaya Sports Meet our students represented the school. The football and kabadi
teams participated in the Sahodaya Tournament held at different places.
SCHOOL EXHIBITION
School exhibition was organized as a part of club activities. The young minds
showcased their imagination and ability in the innovative world of different
subjects namely Maths, Science, Social Science and Malayalam. The exhibition
was very informative and the children showed enthusiasm and were filled in
pursuit of knowledge and excellence. Parents and well wishers were invited to the
exhibition. They highly appreciated the event.

SOCIAL SERVICE ACTIVITIES
Social awareness activities help the students to recognize others feelings and to
know how and when to assist others. As a part of social responsibilities in this
academic year students did charitable activities through Nallapadam project and
Leavender Army which is an anti cancer Movement of Thrissur Arch Diocese for
students. Getting motivation and encouragement from the success of Nallapadam
our students started a new project “Sneha deepam” with full empathy and love
towards the needy. As a part of Sneha deepam activity our Tenth standard students
visited Nirmal Sadan, Edakkalathur along with teachers. Therethe inmates are
physically and mentally challenged people. Our Ninth standard students visited
cancer ward in Amala Cancer Hospital. Our students understood their pathetic
conditions and tried to make them happy by performing some cultural programs
and gave them necessary things. As a part of Sneha deepam project our students,
collected 1 lakh Rupees, for Flood Relief Fund, and for the treatment of one of our
students who was seriously sick. Collection of rice from home and distribution to
the needy with the help of Adat Grama Panchayat, collection of money through
poor box and giving scholarship to bright poor students, contribution to the various
charitable institution like orphanages, rehabilitation centers etc, were organized by
the Social Service Club. Besides these, the School Management provides Free
uniforms, Fee concession, Fee exemption etc according to the real needs of the
students.
VALUE EDUCATION
To build up the future citizens with social values we insist value education ie.
Moral Science and Catechism classes. Our students, Lisna Ouseph Std VIII A
secured 3rd position , Jovia Joshy STd VII A 2nd position and Angel Rose P S std
VII A 3rd position in Annual Catechism Examination organised by Assissi
Educational Corporate Agency and thus we got aggregate trophy for Catechism.

Holy Mass and Confession is arranged for Catholic students. Besides this,
Alphonsa Garden and KCSL is functioning very actively. The month of July was
colourful by the feast of St. Alphonsa, the 1st woman saint of India. The Novena
days were observed with many programmes. St. Alphonsa corner was arranged and
it was decorated with sayings of St. Alphonsa and with her pictures. We celebrated
St. Alphonsa Day with different competitions, cultural programmes . Alphonsa
Garden flowers visited 33 poor families of this locality and distributed rice to these
families. To inculcate the values in children in each month we select one value for
practice. Students decorate the value board and conduct school assembly based on
that particular value.
ACCOLADES AND ACHIEVMENTS
It has been 5 years since the inception of the school and from its very beginning,
our mission has been to impart quality education as well as to nurture the innate
potential of each student. Like the previous years this year also we have grown
from strength to strength achieving fresh goals, conquering heights in the relentless
pursuit for excellence. In addition to all our effort to impart the best education, we
provide equal importance to extra curricular activities like cultural programmes,
sports, physical education, self development etc. Our students stood tall
everywhere and left their mark in everything they attempted. They won many
accolades inside and outside the school campus.
DCL NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP EXAMINATION 2018
221 of our promising students participated in DCL Scholarship. 74 students got A
grade . Syam Peter and Nandha Kishor K S were selected to state level. In the
Guruvayur region Amala Mary Rani Public School got overall 2nd position. The
quiz competition winners were Fredwin B Vadakkan and Sreya C J in state level.

In connection with the Navadhi of V V School Chittilappilly, quiz
competition was held and our students won 3rd prize namely Austin Porathur
and Gladwin T S.
In Swachh India Contest 2018 Jolsna Joy from std VII got cash prize in
district level .
The best performers in school level, Nived Vinod, Hebin John P Akkara,
Devika P V, Pradul K P and Abhinav P V got trophies and certificates.
Moreover the winners of school level Nandakishor K , Nevil Babu, Neil
Benny were achieved medals and certificates.
Amala Mary Rani Public School organised the Round I of the Discovery
School Super League. Name of the students from Class IV to IX who topped
their respective grades. Alok Rajith ( IV) , Godwin V Paulson ( V), Aidhel
Rose ( VI ), Abel P S ( VII) , Airishia Anson ( VIII) , Niranjana K V ( IX). The
students’ enthusiastic participation proves their exceptional performance and
proficiency in maths and science.

Under the leader ship of Chittilappilly Cultural Club Drawing competition
was conducted in connection with Gramolsavam 2018. Our students bagged
prizes , Sandra Maria Martin 2nd prize and Jeslin Maria Sijo 3rd prize.
Karate Competition
National level
3 students participated in the National Level Championship held at Sulthan
Bathery ,Wayanad. The following are the winners.
Nandana M M , first place in KUMITE 40- 45 kg category. She also secured
3rd place in KATA under 14 category. Ross Angel K Vincent secured 3rd in
KUMITE, 45- 50 kg category girls. Joyal Monsi secured 3rd in KUMITE,
45- 50 kg category boys.
State level
In State level competition Nandana M M secured the individual
championship. 5 students got 1st prize , 7 students got 2nd prize , 6students
got 3rd prize in KATA.
6 students secured 1st prize , 9 students 2nd prize and 2 students 3rd prize in
KUMITE.
CLUB ACTIVITIES
To sparkle hidden skills in co – scholastic areas the school encourages students to
take part in various structured and constructured activities. One such opportunity is
the club activities regularly conducted in the school. In our school Literary,
Science, Social Science, Mathematics, Eco and Health Club are very active.
Important days like Environment day, Reading Day, Independence Day, Teachers
Day, International Yoga Day, Parents Day and Grandparents Day, Hiroshima Day,
Children’s Day, Friendship Day, Hindi Day, Dry Day, World Heat Day, World
Aids Day, Human Rights Day, World Population Day, Colours Day and Ozone
Day were observed and activities signifying their importance were conducted by
the respective clubs. Annual medical checkup for students was done by the

Medical Team from St. Antony’s Mission Hospital , Pazhuvil organized by Health
Club and Eye test for students and teachers was organized by the Team Members
of Drishyam Eye Care Hospital, Thrissur.
SCHOOL P T A
Our P T A is a great support for us in the development of our school. The school
gives a lot of importance in maintaining cordial relationship with parents and extra
care being provided to attend every individual issue. We are so lucky to have a
vibrant and energetic P T A who offers their help in all our endevours where it be
academic or non academic. The General Body of P T A 2018-19 was held on 7th
of July. A new P T A body was constituted and Sri. Shanto Chalakkal was elected
as the P T A President. The Executive Body of P T A meets regularly and discuss
on important matters. P T A meetings were held in regular intervals to review the
activities of the school and get parents participation and feed back in our activities.
Various orientation and awareness programmes were organized for parents.
Parents Day and Grandparents Day was celebrated with games, colourful
programmes of parents, children , teachers and also arranged food fest. We extend
our heartfelt thanks to the P T A President Mr. Shanto and Executive Members for
their whole hearted support.
CONCLUSION
I would like to conclude the report with a quote of Henry Ford
‘Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, working together is
success’.
I bow my head in reverence to the Almighty God for His mercy towards us. I also
thank Mother Mary Rani our Heavenly Partoness for her perpetual intercession in
all our needs and troubles. In this blissful moment, in one voice we say ‘not to us
O! Lord not to us but your name give glory for the sake of your stead fast love and
your faithfulness’ ( Ps.115:1).

The good work of a school is the result of hard work of students, teachers,
ministerial staff, parents and timely support from several quarters. On the behalf of
the school I hereby express our sincere thanks and heartfelt gratitude to Rev. Sr.
Little Mary , our Provincial Superior, who is present here for her care , concern
guidance and benign and insightful advice. I am also thankful to PTA President
and Executive Members who are with us today to encourage us. We always fondly
remember with thanks our Sr. Superior, Rev. Sr. Cicily David and all other sisters
in Mary Rani Convent and Rev. Sr. Feena Joseph, Head Mistress , Mary Rani
English Medium School, The Director and team of Amala Institute of Medical
Sciences for all their generous support and encouragement. Finally I would like to
thank all our beneficiaries and my colleagues who are with us to stay tuned to
maintain high standards in the school. Let me conclude this report by thanking
dignitaries on the stage and well wishers. Wish you all the heavenly blessing of
Holy Babe of Bethlehem and a blessed New Year.
