“LOGISTICS AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT”

Mr.N.Jayakumar, SAP consultant, Coimbatore was the Resource person. In his speech he

insists about the importance of logistics and supply chain management.He explains the

concept by quoting some examples for the students.He also says that the supply chain starts

and ends with the customer.Further he talks about various elements of suuply chain like

customer, planning, purchasing, inventory, production and transportation.Lastly he concluded

his speech with technology followed in supply chain management.

The seminar was conducted on 13.06.2014 at Devarajan Auditorium presented by

Mr.S.Somasundaram CCNA Certified Instructor, Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidhyalaya

College of Arts and Science, on “Tips and Tricks in Networking”. He gave the ideas about

Fixing connectivity issues, Encryption, Update tour Routers Firmware, etc. enriched our

students with new knowledge.

Mr.L.Renjithlal, Senior Welltest Supervisor, Saudi Arabia was the Resource person. He

spokes on “Career Guidance and opportunities in Oil and Gas Sector”. He spokes about the

career opportunities in oil and gas industry. He also informed the students about the

additional skills and knowledge about the oil and gas industry so that they gain insights into

oil and gas sector.

On 23.03.15, A Guest lecture on “Soft Skills” was organized. Ms.Y.PriyaDharshini, Senior

Programmer,Cognizant Technology Solutions was the resource person. All Final year

students of Department of Computer Science UG and PG attended the guest lecture. She

covered mainly five things in her lecture. i.e. how to develop communication skills, practice

active listening skills, build relationships , practice leading and take initiative.

On 16.02.16, A Guest lecture on “R Programming Language” was organized.

Ms.K.Nandhini,Ph.D Research Scholar, Department of Computer Science ,Bharathiar

University was the resource person. 25 students of department of Computer Science (PG)

attended the guest lecture. The Lecturer explained the significance and importance of data

base, data structure, data mining and data warehousing, big data and map reduce as a

developing technology and elicited that analyzing big data in real time.

On 01.03.2016, A Guest lecture on “Distributed Data Mining “was organized.

session with a brief introduction to data mining, distributed computing. Starting with how she

got into this field, she then continued on the topic of what a data mining actually is, following

which she introduced the students to a new industry called “Golden Data “and proceeded to

explain how data mining are used to share information among the various departments and

branches of a company from around the globe.

A Guest lecture on “ At the cross Roads – An employee or An Entrepreneur” was organized

by the department of Management on 28th july,2016. Mrs.K.Geetha, Assistant Professor of

Faculty and students of Computer Science, Computer Applications Departments of

our college conducted the State Level Technical Symposium on 28.02.2017 at Devarajan

Auditorium. Mr.M.JAIKUMAR, MCA.,M.Phil.,(Ph.D)., Head, Department of Computer

Applications, Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science Was the chief

guest.

Other college students actively participated in the symposium. The chief guest

presented various sources and he explained how the students are affected by the cyber crimes

now a day, also gave solutions to tackle those problems.The departments organized various

events namely Paper Presentation, Facial Art, Word Hunt, Debugging, Best out of waste and

minute to win. There were about 137 participants from other colleges.

The participants won the cash prize and certificates. The students enjoyed the day.

The students had valuable experience form this symposium.

On 01.08.17, A Guest lecture on “Future Technology in Computer Science” was organised.

Women, Gobichettipalayam was the resource person. The First,,Second and Final year

Students attended the lecture. She explained the significance and importance of recent

technologies. She also explained the free online courses to enrich the knowledge of students

in recent technologies.

On 16.02.2018, A Guest lecture on “Personality Developement” was organised.

Mrs.M.Yesther Jansi, Assistant Professor, CMS College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore,

was the resource person. Final year B.Com students attended the lecture. She explained the

importance of personality development and “How to Lead a Happy Life”. The Session was

very interesting, highly informative for the students.

On 17.07.18, A Guest lecture on “ Basics of stock market and online trading an overview”

was organised. Mrs.P.Kowsalya, Assistant Professor, Vivekananda Institute of Management

studies, Coimbatore, was the resource person. Final year BBA, B.Com and M.Com students

attended the lecture. She gave a live demo on online trading and the various parameters to be

considered for security analysis and trading.

On 28.07.18, A Guest lecture on “ Emerging Technologies” was organised. Dr.P.Nithya,

Associate Professor & Course incharge (B.Sc CT), PSG College of Arts and Science,

Coimbatore, was the resource person. Over 250 students of Computer Science, Information

Technology attended the lecture. She gave a crystal clear view on recent technologies and

live projects related to current trends.

Network Technology

This Workshop was arranged to create awareness in t he latest Network

techno logy based educat ion. Mr.S.Somasundaram, Assistant Professor, Department

of Computer Applications, Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidhyalaya College of Arts &

Science, Coimbatore-20.gave a wonderful int roduct ion to the Network types

and its importance and significance. 70 student’s from Computer Science and

components, how gmail is connected with cloud.

“Yoga for Human Excellence”.

International Youth Day was celebrated on 23rd January 2019. A guest lecture was

organized on the topic “Yoga for Human Excellence”. Chief guest for the function was

Mr.R.Vignesh, Yoga Instructor, Varahi’s Mystic Yoga Center, PeriyanaickenPalayam,

Coimbatore and also Alumnus of Pioneer College. The Chief Guest spoke about the benefit

of Yoga. He insisted that yoga would enhance the human soul and help us to lead a

discipline life. He also share his life experience with the students. He informed that multiple

studies have confirmed the many mental and physical benefits of yoga. Incorporating it in

routine can help to enhance the health, increase strength and flexibility and reduce

symptoms of stress, depression and anxiety. At the end he taught Pranayama Asana to the

students.

Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp(EAC)

From 21st to 23rd February, 2019

A Three Day Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp was organized from 21st to 23rd

February2019, organized by Entrepreneurship Development cell of Pioneer college of Arts

and Science Sponsored by Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India(EDII), Gujarat

(Under the aegis of National Science and technology Entrepreneurship Development

Board(NSTEDB), Department of Science and Technology(DST), Government of India, New

Delhi).

In this camp on the second day 22nd Feb 2019 Mr.R.Vijaykumar, Assistant Professor,

PG & Research Department of Computer Science was the Resource person of III and pre

lunch session on “Creativity and Business”. The last session narrated the success story of

Director Geetha Baskaran’s “Suba Plastics Pt. Ltd,” .facing hurdles from external forces.

The day’s programme was concluded with a vote of thanks.

On 05.02.2019, A Guest lecture on “Seivathai Thunithu Sei” was organized.

Mr.P.Gunasekaran, Tamil Taecher, Adhithiya International School, Idikarai, Coimbatore

and also Alumnus of Pioneer College, was the resource person. First Year B.Com and first

and second year Maths UG students attended the lecture session He insisted that if one

decided him/his future career he/ she should take the correct decision in the correct time

without any fear. He said Hesitation makes a man less confidence. So without fear and

hesitation one should do the right things.

‘Career Guidance to Become a Chartered Accountant’

On 27.02.2019, A Guest lecture on “Career Guidance to Become a Chartered Accountant”

was organized. Mr.CA.D.Pradeep, Chartered Accountant, Coimbatore, was the resource

person. B.Com and M.com students attended the lecture. The speaker started off the career

path to become a Charted Accountant (CA) is challenging but is very promising. He started

that he has devoted 5 years of hard work to become chartered accountant. He explained CA

is one of the highest paying careers in India and is a good career option for any one

interested in the subject like taxation and accounting. There is a good demand of CAs in India

both private as well as public organization. Entire Guest lecture was very informative,

interactive and knowledgeable.

On 06.03.2019, A Guest lecture on “Interesting Mathematics” was organized.

Mr.P.Murugan , Assistant Professor, Dr.S.N.S College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore, was

the resource person. He discussed many topics like calculus, Algebra, abstract algebra etc. He

discussed to solve the problems using different types of shortcut methods. This lecture was

very useful motivate and informative to the students.
