The continuing evolution of healthcare and technology opens new doors for acquiring
Physiotherapy education. It requires caring professionals who will excel in meeting the challenges
of a rapidly changing healthcare scenario.
This program is meant to create professionals with high standards and practice. These
professionals can practise independently and handle the patient or they can work with medical
professionals as a complementary support. The number of patients with physical disabilities is
increasing day by day all over the world. So there is a constant need for Physiotherapy for physical
rehabilitation & post - operative care.
The curriculum will enable the students to think critically, communicate effectively with the specialty
Doctors and the paramedical team.
Faculty of Department of Physiotherapy is caring and committed. The diverse interests and
backgrounds of the faculty add richness to the learning experience and behavioral change.
● To offer specialized and high quality knowledge and experience in the fields of Applied
Physiotherapy in Orthopedics, Surgery, Medicine, Gynaecology, Neurology, Pediatrics, Intensive
Care Unit, etc.
● Syllabus contents - Anatomy, Physiology, Electrotherapy, Exercise-therapy, Biomechanics etc
● Unique Features - Emphasis on practical training and project. Affiliation with reputed hospitals
across the city for excellent clinical exposure and on-patient training. Department has also
established in-campus physiotherapy OPD. Special cell for counseling and placement of outgoing
students.
● Methodology - Training in 6 different labs (Orthopedics, Cardiopulmonary, Gynaecology Pediatrics,
ICU and Community-based rehabilitation)
● Special Inputs - Communication skills and counseling, Patient assessment care presentation

Fees for the academic year 2013-14 :
Fee Structure of the first Year is for students taking fresh admission for the first year in Academicyear 2013-14. The Fee Structure will remain the same throughout the course. For the students of2nd / 3rd / 4th year the fee structure of the year of their admission will be applicable.

● Bachelor of Physiotherapy is a regular degree program which includes 4 academic years' and 6months' compulsory Rotatory internship. From IInd Year BPT onwards students are posted invarious hospitals for on patient training.
● A candidate must have minimum of 80% attendance (irrespective of the kind of absence) in theoryand practical in each subject for appearing for examination.
● A candidate must have 100% attendance in each of the practical areas before award of degree.
● The course structure mentioned in this prospectus is indicative and may be changed / updated atthe discretion of the Vidyapeeth. It may include co-curricular activities and extracurricular activitiesas well.
In case of any change in partial or full syllabus of the course, the examination of the previoussyllabus will be conducted, only for the next 3 consecutive times and the repeaters should clear theirbacklog of the previous syllabus within those 3 examinations.
Mode of Evaluation
● Evaluation of student is done under two parts i.e. External assessment & Internal assessment.Proportion of marks of External & Internal assessment is 80: 20 (total 100 marks) for both theory &practical papers.
● Separate passing in internal & external assessment is essential.
● Minimum pass marks should be 50% in each of the theory and practical papers separately for bothInternal & External assessment.
Internal Assessment :
Internal Assessment will be done through the examination held at the end of 1st & 2nd term of theeach academic year for both theory & practical papers.

External assessment (Vidyapeeth Examination)
Schedule of Examination :
Vidyapeeth examinations are conducted according to the examination time-table notified by theVidyapeeth by the end of each year. Students are required to appear for the written as well as oral/ practical examination as per the syllabus of their branch.
Grading System
Aggregate 70% and above Distinction
Aggregate 60% and above but below 70% First Class
Aggregate 55% and above but below 60% Higher Second Class
Aggregate 50% and above but below 55% Second Class
Aggregate 40% and above but below 50% Pass Class
Below 40% Fail
Results
Results of the Vidyapeeth examinations will be declared after 45 days after the end of theexamination of that particular programme.
The Vidyapeeth has the right to reserve the result of a student if he has not cleared the fee / otherdues.
Revaluation & Rechecking / Verification of Marks :
Candidates may apply for revaluation or rechecking of marks by paying the Revaluation Fee (Rs.250/- per subject + Rs. 10/- form Fee) or Rechecking fees. (Rs. 100/- per subject + Rs. 10/- formfee) Students should submit the rechecking / revaluation form within 15 days after the declarationof the result.
Rules for Promotion :
ATKT - ATKT provision is governed as per Vidyapeeth rules.
