SING OUT!!! SWEET LAND!!! is a celebration of America's greatest single art form, the Musical Comedy. It is a story of our American heritage, specially devised for our nation's 200th birthday by Guy S. Little, Jr. and Bruce Kirle.

As producer of the Little Theatre-On The Square, Mr. Little has presented a host of America's greatest stars in America's greatest musicals for nearly two decades. Beginning his career as a performer in the East, Mr. Little sang with some of the brightest luminaries of the opera world for the Miami Opera Guild for three seasons while a scholarship student a t the University of Miami. Having been associated with leading theatres throu hout America, Mr. Little has a eared as Mr. Snow in CAROUSEL, t i e Padre in MAN OF LA M A N c E and Lt. Cable in SOOTH PACIFIC in recent seasons. Mr. Kirle, currently Musical Director a t the Little Theatre-On The S uare, began his career as piano soloist with the famous Boaton Pops 0N:testra when he was 15. A graduate of Columbia Universit Mr. Kirle has conducted some of America's favorite musicals, includin SOUND OF MUSIC, MY FAIR LADY. WEST SIDE STORY and F ~ D L E B ON THE ROOF in this country and in Canada. Mr. Little and Mr. Kirle will perform songs by Rodgers and Hammerstein, Victor Herbert, Jerome Kern, Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Frank Loesser, Lerner and Loewe and Jule Styne.

SWEET LAND!!! is a multi-media presentation that tells the story of the American Musical from its earliest beginnings to the present through the use of projections, costume displa s, and recordings of the best known peo le in American entertainment Kistory. You'll hear the voices of George b. Cohan, Nora Bayes, Sophie Tucker. A1 Jolson, Eddie Cantor, Helen Morgan, Fanny Brice, Mary Martin, Ethel Merman and many others.

SING OUT!!! SWEET LAND!!! features pro'ections of the original Ziegfeld Follies with their fabulous sets, b rea thk ing costumes and beautiful girls. You'll also see scenes from the original Broadwa productions of shows like OKLAHOMA, SHOW BOAT, GUYS AN^ DOLLS, PORGY AND BESS, ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, as well as scenes from more recent shows like PIPPIN and GODSPELL.

SING OUT!!! SWEET LAND!!! is a celebration of America's past and present. I t is an entertainment suitable for groups and clubs of all types, and for Americads of all ages.

The Staff. . . ROBERT D. SOULE (Scenic Designer) returns to Sullivan for his eighth season as m i d e n t designer. Audiences will remember tire strikingly beautiful and miraculously workable sets he has designed for THE STUDENT PRINCE, GLAD TIDINGS, GEORGE MI. THE MUSIC MAN and over seventy-five productions since 1968. For many years he made his home in New York City where he designed over thirty theatre productions as well as for television and movies. Born in Bushnell, Illinois, he studied at Western Illinois University and the Pasa- dena Playhouse before becoming a member of the United Scenic Artists union. He has designed for many of the most famous theatres throughout the country including the Coconut Grove in Miami, Sombrero Play- house in Phoenix, Casa Manana in Ft. Worth, Westport County Playhouse and the Kenley

Tlayers. He went to Edinburg, Scotland to <meordinate designs for the Providence Repertoire Company's production a t the Festival. For a number of years, he has served as resident designer a t Trinity Square Rep Theatre of Rhode Island.

CARL O'SHEA (Costume Designer) returns to The Little Theatre-On The Square for his third season. A native of Clinton, New York, Mr. O'Shea received his B.A. from SUNY a t Geneseo. New York and MFA from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. He has been associated in the costume department a t the Gateway Theatre in Bellport, Long Island. the Pittsburgh Playhouse and the Pittsburgh Opera Company. For public television,

TERRENCE J. DIETERLE (Stage Manager) recently served as Stage Manager for the Elmwood Casino in Windsor. Ontario where he worked with Jean-Pierre Aumont in GIG1 and Forrest Tucker in PLAZA SUITE. For the Golden Apple Dinner Theatre in Florida, Mr. Dieterle served as Scenic Carpenter and for the Chateau de Ville Dinner Theatres in Boston, he was Company Manager for five theatres while working with Bob Cummings, Stubby Kaye and Betty Hutton. As a designer, he has worked on productions of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, FUNNY GIRL, THE BOY FRIEND and HELLO, DOLLY!

TOM DOYLE (Lighting Designer) hoids a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Rhode Island College. For the past several years, he has been associated with Trinity Square Reper- tory Company where he has worked on pro- ductions of AIMEE, ALFRED THE GREAT, 1 TOOTH OF CRIME AND LADY AUDLEY'S

ANNA McNEELY (Mrs. Peawe) has been appearing a t The Little TheatreOn The Square for the past five seasons. Having made her professional debut as Susan in COMPANY with Janis Paige, Ms. McNeely has been seen by Sullivan audiences in both productions of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF with Tom Poston and Shelley Berman, as Mrs. O'Malley in FUNNY GIRL with Mimi Hines. Flora from Friico opposite Andy Devine in NO, NO. NANETTE, Doris in DAMN YANKEES with Gary C o b , Ernestina in HELLO. DOLLY1 with Virginia Mayo and with George Chakiris in CAMELOT; she toured Florida as Meg in BRIGADOON. Ms. McNeely holds a B.A. in music education, has taught music in pubiie school for two years and directed productions of YOU'RE A GOOD MAN. CHARLIE BROWN and THE WIZARD OF 02. This spring, she starred in the title role of MAME as a guest artiit in a community theatre in the St. Louis area.

BERNARD ERHARD (Director). Mr. Erhard's duetting career started in 1951 when he formed his first opera wm- pany in Amarillo, Texas, while serving in the Aiu Force. He wntinued directing during his military years in opera wmmunity theatres and troop shows. He was the youngest and one of the few Americans to ever be made director at the Stastgser in Vienna, Austria. For five years he housed his resident opera and musical wmedy theatre in Lafayette, La., and during hi ten years as associate professor and resident director a t several universities, kept his profes- sional directing career moving as guest director and per- former in theatres throughout the South and Southwest.
