THE WILDWOODS – The weather is starting to warm up, and so is the excitement for spring and outdoor Easter fun in the Wildwoods. This island resort is thankful to have been virtually unscathed by Superstorm Sandy, and they are celebrating with an Easter weekend fi lled with family events Satur-day and Sunday, March 30 and 31.

On March 30 families choose from two separate Easter egg hunts – both starting at noon. On the beach in North Wildwood at 19th Avenue, children 11 and under can hunt for eggs and gather candy and prizes during the Elks An-nual Easter Egg Hunt. Just a few blocks down on the beach at Lincoln Avenue in Wildwood, children under 12 can participate in the Greater Wildwood Jaycees Easter Egg Hunt for eggs containing toys by digging in the sand to fi nd them. There will be one “golden egg” which will contain a bigger prize. Rain date for the Greater Wildwood Jaycees Easter Egg Hunt is March 31.

On Easter Sunday, March 31 on the boardwalk at 23rd Avenue, Ed’s Funcade Easter Egg Hunt will take place from 12:30 p.m. - 2

p.m. Children under 12 can hunt for eggs and will have the chance to win great prizes.

Also on Easter Sunday, Morey’s Piers hosts its Opening Day & Easter Cel-ebration from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. This event kicks off the spring season in the Wildwoods and is sure to bring the kid out in every-one. All of the Wildwoods boardwalk eateries, shops, games and arcades will be open for a full weekend of fun with rides, food, entertainment, including strolling stilt walkers and jugglers, face painting, pictures with the Easter Bunny at the Parent’s Pa-vilion and “Pick an Egg” for the kids. “Pick an Egg,” taking place on Morey’s

Pier, will feature a large basket fi lled with plastic Easter Eggs for children 12 and under to open for a chance to win some great prizes, including two Spe-cial Edition Morey’s Piers Beach Cruisers by Zippy’s Bikes. Kids can also help design and color Morey’s “Monster Mural.”

Easter weekend is also a great time to “scout out” your summer vacation rental – plenty of great spaces are still available for your summer stay, so while you’re down here celebrat-ing the Easter holiday, why not solidify your plans for the summer as well?

CAPE MAY, NJ – Shrug off that winter coat and let your spring style shine at Cape May’s annual Easter Fashion Stroll on Sunday, March 31. The Washing-ton Street Mall serves as the runway where con-testants of all ages can model their Easter fin-ery. Mall merchants will celebrate the event with ribbons, prizes, treats and gift certificates. And of course, the Easter Bunny will be on hand for pic-

tures and hugs, and will be giving out free Jelly Beans courtesy of The Original Fudge Kitchen. The Cape May Dairy Queen and The Original Fudge Kitchen will provide free ice cream for all children who are contestants.

Registration begins at noon near the Rotary Clock at the 300 block of the Washington Street Mall. COURT HOUSE – Linda Gentille and The Jersey Shore Pops announce that they have resigned an agreement with vocalist Jacklyn Buckingham to appear another season as a guest vocalist with the orchestra. Buckingham will be appearing in fi ve of the season concerts including: The Irish Tenor, Stars and Stripes Forever, Legends in Concert and Sinatra & Friends.

Buckingham made her debut with the Pops in 2010 and was such a huge success, that they made her the fi rst offi cial regu-lar guest vocalist for the orchestra. Buckingham is a graduate of Montclair State University with a B.A. in theater and a minor in Musical Theater. She has performed in numerous musicals including Les Miserables, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, The World Goes Round and Cabaret. She is currently a member of the Shaken Not Stirred Players whose 'Broadway by Request' show has wowed audiences around the area and recently per-formed to a sold out audi-ence at the Mohegan Sun Resort in Connecticut.

Conductor and music director of the orchestra comments, “Jacklyn has such a beautiful stage voice and poise that our audi-ences just love her. We are so glad she is available to participate in our third full season of the pops. This season, we will be writing special duet arrangements for her and our other male guest vocalists. It will be a wonderful addition to our current programming.”

The Jersey Shore Pops 2013 Summer Concert Series will include eight concerts with a focus on in-ternational guest stars from around the world. The se-ries will open at the Middle Township Performing Arts Center the last weekend in June. The eight concert series is as follows:

COURT HOUSE – Middle Township Baseball & Softball Association will present their third Comedy Show & Din-ner Fri. April 12 at the Bellevue Tavern. The event is always a fun outing with friends or great date night.

Tickets are only $30 and include dinner (starting at 6:30) and the show (starting at 8:30). The show features three top comedians from New York that will keep you laughing all night.

Proceeds help fund the indoor batting cages, fi elds, equipment and accessories for boys and girls baseball and softball teams.

Baseball, Softball Association To Host Comedy Show, Dinner

COURT HOUSE - Access to Art presents a bus trip to the McCarter Theatre in Princeton, NJ, for William Shakespeare’s "The Winter’s Tale.” Award-winner Re-becca Taichman directs Shakespeare’s tale of jealousy, reconciliation, redemption and the mending of broken hearts. Princes, princesses, disguised identities, jeal-ous kings, oracles, pickpockets, and one ravenous bear – if you haven’t seen “The Winter’s Tale” before, don’t miss one of Shakespeare’s most elegant music-fi lled and haunting plays.

Access to Art Hosts Shakespeare Bus Trip

to announce that on May 2, 2013 the Cape May County Department of Aging and Disability Services will be host-ing the annual Senior Jamboree. This event is held each year in May in honor of Older American’s Month. The festivities will take place at the Avalon Community Center located at 30th & the Beach in Avalon, New Jersey.

“Come horse around with us! The theme is “Kentucky Derby” so feel free to wear your favorite fancy hat. Also, wear your dancing shoes since there will be live enter-tainment and dancing. Additionally, a free lunch will be served by staff of the Department of Aging and Cape May County high school students. Plus awards will be given to the “Senior of the Year” – female and male and to the “Organization of the Year”.

The free event is open to all Cape May County senior residents, age 60 or over. The doors will open promptly at 10 a.m. So wear you hat and join us for a fun day!
