14. Q: Apakah akan ada briefing dengan peserta setelah pendaftaran?A: Tidak. Briefing dengan peserta akan diselenggarakan khusus untuk 10 finalis dari StorytellingContest guna menginformasikan pengumpulan karya baru dengan tema yang berbeda. Informasiterkait 10 finalis akan diberikan pada pertanyaan nomor 33.

15. Q: Apa sajakah syarat format video yang dapat diunggah?A: Video yang dikirimkan harus dalam format MP4, resolusi minimum 720p, ukuran maximum1GB, dan landscape. Video juga tidak mengandung SARA, pornografi, dan tidak melanggar hakcipta. Lebih lengkap terkait format video, dapat dilihat di sini.

16. Q: Bolehkah peserta mengedit video?A: Pengeditan video hanya diperbolehkan untuk penambahan background, gambar, dan suarapendamping. Jadi, tidak diperbolehkan untuk memotong video.

17. Q: Berapa durasi video yang harus dikumpulkan?A: Untuk Storytelling Contest, video harus berdurasi 3-4 (tiga hingga empat) menit, sedangkanuntuk Speech Contest, durasi harus berdurasi 3-5 (tiga hingga lima) menit.

18. Q: Apakah boleh sedikit melebihi batas maksimum durasi yang telah ditentukan?A: Tidak boleh. Batas durasi maksimal video yang harus dibuat peserta sudah tetap dan tidakdapat diubah. Video yang melebihi atau kurang dari batas durasi akan didiskualifikasi.

19. Q: Apakah peserta wajib membawa buku saat bercerita atau teks saat berpidato?A: Tidak wajib. Peserta dapat menyesuaikan kebutuhan dan keinginan masing-masing. Jadi,peserta dapat memilih untuk menggunakan ataupun tidak menggunakan buku saat berceritaatau teks saat berpidato.

20. Q: Untuk Storytelling Contest, apakah cerita yang dibawakan dapat berupa fiksi atau nonfiksi?A: Peserta dibebaskan untuk memilih. Yang diutamakan adalah kesesuaian dengan pilihan temapeserta.

21. Q: Apakah saya dapat mengumpulkan lebih dari 1 karya?A: Setiap peserta hanya diperbolehkan untuk mengumpulkan 1 karya. Jika panitia menerima 2karya dari peserta yang sama, karya yang akan dinilai adalah karya terakhir yang dikirimkankepada panitia.

Q: Apa yang terjadi jika peserta terlambat untuk mengumpulkan karya?A: Peserta yang mengirimkan karya di luar waktu yang telah ditentukan akan didiskualifikasi.Apabila peserta telah mendaftar lomba Mentari English Competition namun tidak melakukanpengumpulan karya, maka peserta tidak dapat mengajukan refund biaya pendaftaran denganalasan apapun.

23. Q: Bolehkah kompetisi dilakukan secara beregu atau lebih dari 1 individu dalam 1 video?A: Tidak. Kompetisi diikuti secara individu sehingga hanya ada peserta kompetisi dalam 1 video(tidak ada orang lain). Apabila memiliki 2 anak yang ingin mengikuti Mentari EnglishCompetition 2022 dengan jenis kompetisi yang sama, silakan mendaftarkan 2 peserta danmengunggah 2 video yang berbeda.

24. Q: Apakah pemenang yang ditetapkan hanya juara 1–3 saja?A: Pilihan dewan juri dan warganet akan menentukan 5 pemenang di masing-masing kompetisi,yang mana pemenang kejuaraan meliputi Juara 1, 2, 3, Netizen Choice (pilihan warganet), danMost Creative Performance.

Q: Apa yang akan peserta dapatkan setelah menjadi pemenang?A: Untuk masing-masing kompetisi, pemenang juara 1,2, & 3 akan menerima sejumlah uangtunai, sertifikat kejuaraan, dan hadiah spesial berupa myON Digital Library & Oxford GradedReaders. Teruntuk pemenang Netizen Choice dan Most Creative Performance akan menerimasertifikat kejuaraan dan sejumlah uang tunai.

26. Q: Apabila tidak menjadi juara, apakah peserta akan tetap mendapatkan sertifikat?A: Ya. Peserta yang mengikuti kompetisi Mentari English Competition 2022 namun tidak menjadijuara akan tetap menerima sertifikat partisipasi digital.

27. Q: Bagaimana mekanisme kejuaraan 1,2, & 3?A: Juara 1,2, & 3 untuk setiap kompetisi akan murni berdasarkan hasil pemilihan juri.

28. Q: Bagaimana mekanisme live voting untuk pemenang Netizen Choice?A: Pemenang Netizen Choice akan murni terpilih berdasarkan jumlah voting terbanyak yangditerima pada saat Awards Ceremony. Jadi, setiap peserta yang terpilih sebagai 30 kandidatNetizen Choice dapat mengajak keluarga/kerabat/teman/lainnya untuk bergabung di LiveStreaming Awards Ceremony di YouTube untuk melakukan live voting. Nantinya, tautan livevoting akan ditunjukkan pada layar Awards Ceremony dan YouTube chat.

29. Q: Bagaimana mekanisme pemenang Most Creative Performance?A: Pemenang Most Creative Performance merupakan hasil murni dari pemilihan juriberdasarkan keunikan dan juga kreativitas dari video yang dibuat oleh peserta.

30. Q: Bagaimanakah rubrik penilaian kompetisi Storytelling Contest dan Speech Contest?A: Rubrik penilaian video meliputi ketepatan isi dengan tema yang dipilih, kreativitas pembuatanvideo, penampilan peserta, kelancaran saat berbicara, dan kesesuaian durasi.

31. Q: Kapan pengumuman pemenang akan dilakukan?A: Tiap pemenang dari tiap lomba akan diumumkan pada Awards Ceremony. Namun, akan adapengumuman peserta yang terpilih sebagai 30 kandidat Netizen Choice dan 10 finalis sebelumAwards Ceremony. Untuk kompetisi Storytelling Contest, panitia akan mengumumkan pesertayang terpilih sebagai 30 kandidat Netizen Choice dan 10 finalis (Lihat pertanyaan nomor 32untuk informasi lebih lanjut). 6. Q: Can children in the same family join the competition?A: Yes. Siblings from the same family can join the competition, whether they are twins or thosein different grades at school (Primary 1-6). However, they should adhere to the rules for thelevel category in each competition.

7. Q: Which themes can be delivered in the Storytelling Contest?A: For the Storytelling Contest, participants should choose one of three themes that are basedon moral values, namely1. Friendship,2. Teamwork, or3. Kindness.

8. Q: Which themes can be delivered in the Speech Contest?A: For the Speech Contest, participants should choose between two themes, namely1. My Inspiration, or2. My Hopes for the Future of Indonesia.

9. Q: For the Storytelling Contest, is it permitted to create an original story or should an existingtale be used?A: For the Storytelling Contest, participants are allowed to create their own story or use anexisting one.

10. Q: For the Speech Contest, is it permitted to use an existing script?A: No. The script should be created by the participant and it is mandatory to submit the scriptwith the video submission form.

11. Q: Is it permitted to wear a costume, use props, and change the voice for different characters?A: Yes, it is allowed. Participants are free to be creative during their storytelling or speech.

12. Q: When is registration closing date for the Mentari English Competition 2022?A: The closing date for registration is on Sunday, 20th March 2022 at 14:00 WIB.

13. Q: When is video submission closing date for the Mentari English Competition 2022?A: The closing date for video submission is on Sunday, 20th March 2022 at 23:59 WIB.

Q: Is there any briefing with participants after registration?A: No. A briefing with participants will be held specifically for the 10 finalists of the StorytellingContest for further information about the new video submission with a different theme. Furtherinformation regarding the 10 finalists is given in question 33 of this document.

15. Q: What are the video requirements for the submitted video?A: The submitted video should be in MP4 format, minimum resolution of 720p, maximum size of1GB, and landscape. The video must not contain any SARA (Ethnic, Religion, Race andIntergroup), or pornography, and does not violate any copyright laws. For detail informationabout the video format, please check here.

16. Q: Are participants allowed to edit the video?A: Video editing is only allowed to add such things as a background, images, and backgroundnoises or songs. Therefore, cutting the video is not permitted.

17. Q: How long is the submitted video allowed to be?A: For the Storytelling Contest, the duration of the video must be 3-4 minutes, while for theSpeech Contest, the duration of the video must be 3-5 minutes.

18. Q: Are videos allowed to slightly exceed the maximum duration given?A: No. The length limit of the video is fixed and cannot be changed. Any videos that exceed orare under the given duration will be disqualified.

19. Q: Are participants required to use a book while storytelling or a script while giving theirspeech?A: These things are not required. Participants are allowed to adjust the story or speech to theirneeds and desires. Therefore, participants can choose perform with or without a book or script.

20. Q: For the Storytelling Contest, can the presented stories be fiction or non-fiction?A: Participants are free to choose. The priority of the contest is the accuracy of the contentwithin the chosen theme.

21. Q: Is it permitted to submit more than one video?A: No. Participants are only permitted to submit one video. If the committee receives two videosfrom the same participant, the last submitted video is the one that will be reviewed.

22. Q: What happens if a participant is late to submit the video piece?A: Participants who submit the video outside the given time will be disqualified. If a participantis registered in the Mentari English Competition but does not submit the piece, the participantcannot request a registration fee refund with any reason.

23. Q: Is it permitted to perform in groups or feature more than one individual student in a video?A: No. The competition must be done individually and must only have one participant per video.If there are two children who wish to join the Mentari English Competition 2022 in the samecategory, please register for two participants and submit two different videos.

24. Q: Is the winner determined only for 1st to 3rd place winners?A: The selection from the judges and netizens will determine five winners, namely 1st, 2nd, and3rd place winners, Netizen Choice, and Most Creative Performance.

Q: What will participants receive after winning?A: In each competition, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive a cash prize, a championshipcertificate, and a special prize in a form of a myOn Digital Library subscription & Oxford GradedReaders. For Netizen Choice and Most Creative Performance winners, participants will receive achampionship certificate and a cash prize.

26. Q: If participants do not win, will they still receive a certificate?A: Yes. All participants who join the Mentari English Competition but do not win will still receivea digital participation certificate.

27. Q: How will the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners be chosen?A: The 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners will be selected purely by the judges.

28. Q: How will the winner of the Netizen Choice Award be chosen?A: The winner for Netizen Choice will be selected purely by the highest number of votes duringthe Awards Ceremony. Therefore, every participant who is in the top 30 is allowed to invitefamily/relatives/friends/others to join the Live Streaming Awards Ceremony on YouTube for thelive voting. The link for the live voting will be displayed on the Awards Ceremony screen and onYouTube Chat.

29. Q: How will the winner of the Most Creative Performance be chosen?A: The winner for Most Creative Performance will be selected purely by the judges based on theuniqueness and the creativity of the video submitted.

30. Q: What are the scoring rubrics for the Storytelling and Speech Contests?A: The performance scoring rubrics include criteria about the accuracy of content within thechosen theme, the creativity of making the video, the performance of the participant, thefluency of speaking, and the correspondence of the duration to the time limit given.

31. Q: When will the winners be announced?A: The winners from each competition will be announced during the Awards Ceremony.However, for the Storytelling Contest, the committee will announce the 30 Netizen Choicecandidates and the 10 finalists prior to the Awards Ceremony (see question 32 for furtherdetails). For the Speech Contest, the committee will just inform the participants who have beenselected as the 30 Netizen Choice candidates prior to the Awards Ceremony.
