The Placement Cell of Jesus and Mary College got more than 130 students placed out of the

400 registered students. It has also been providing internship opportunities to the students

of all three years across various departments.

The placement cell was contacted by more than 100 companies from various sectors and

around 70 companies came for recruitment. The placement drive started with 4 big

accounting and consulting firms –Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG and PWC followed by

management consulting companies like Accenture, Boston Consultancy Group and

McKinsey. Wipro has been a regular recruiter from the software industry. From banking

sector we had Axis bank, South Indian bank. Financial services companies like S&P ,Capital

IQ and from hospitality sector ITC Hotels & Oberoi Group of Hotels visited the campus.

Students responded very well to a lot of young Companies like Nirsan Health, Zomato,

Lucideus, Inshorts, Grant Thornton, Flatle etc.

From the education sector, we had Teach for India and "I am a Teacher" fellowship

programs introduced to students across all courses. Young India fellowship and Gandhi

fellowship programs were also offered. We had Decathlon sports from the sports industry.

The companies recruited our students for a variety of roles such as Audit assistant, Tax

analyst, Business analyst, Research, Assurance, Content Management, HR, Marketing,

Operations are a few profiles offered to the students.

Aditya Birla group has been providing summer and winter internships to our students every

year. Companies like Smart Cube, Car Dekho.com, Lucideus, Actozen, Campusdope.com,

Oxxy International, Nielsen, PK Online, MedHalt also came to provide internship

opportunities to the students.

Apart from handling the recruitment drives for third year students and internships, the

Placement Cell has also been organising talks, seminars and workshops by various reputed

ABOUT US Jesus and Mary college was the pioneer in setting up the placement cell in 1998. Starting with a single company (GE Capital), around 70 to 75 reputed companies visited our campus for recruitment in the year 2016-17. The placement cell is working constantly to provide a variety of opportunities to suit the different needs of students for employability by providing career opportunities to students, and work for their holistic development. The cell also provides opportunities for internship, fellowship and campus ambassadorship. It organises talks on career development, training programs and workshops to bridge the knowledge gap between students and the job market. ABOUT US

Jesus and Mary College celebrated its Golden Jubilee Year with more than 80 companies holding placement and internship drives for our students. The Placement Cell was set up in 1998 starting with a single company (GE Capital). The Cell has had another fruitful year of placements with 300 student registrations out of which 80 have already been placed and results are awaited from a few other companies. Each year, we host companies on campus to hold recruitments for our students, and in spite of the job market looking bleak this time round, we saw many leading corporates recruit a considerable number of students from our campus. The placement cell is working constantly to provide a variety of prospects to suit the different needs of students for employability by providing career opportunities to students, and work for their universal development. The cell also provides opportunities for internship, fellowship and campus ambassadorship. It conducts talks, training programs and workshops to bridge the knowledge gap between students and the job market.

The placement drive started with the 3 out of the big 4’s namely Deloitte USI, Ernst & Young, KPMG followed by consulting companies like Wipro, McKinsey, Infotech etc. Accenture has been a regular recruiter from the software industry with the highest pay grade of Rs. 4,60,000 per annum. Financial services companies like FIS, Macquarie, Grant Thornton recruited more than 15 students from our campus. ITC Hotels & Oberoi Group of Hotels also visited our campus from the hospitality sector. There was an inflow of many content writing companies like Inshorts, Paper true, Leo Burnett, NIIT etc. From the education sector, we had Teach for India for their 2-year fellowship program for students across all courses. The companies recruited our students for a variety of roles such as Audit Assistant, Tax analyst,

Business Analyst, Research, Assurance, Content Management, Proof Readers, HR, Marketing, Business Development Associate, Articleship, Team Analyst and many more. Some other companies that came on campus were Willis Tower Watson, Eazy Diner, JIIMS, Direct Admissions, Peluche etc.

The Placement Cell for the Golden Jubilee Year has also entered into a partnership with Triedge for online internships for all courses and all years to empower women and give them a fair chance, wherein we will bring together, on a single platform, companies committed to giving more opportunities to women and interested women candidates who want to explore careers of their choice. Companies like Integer Innovation, Awign, Asmat, Plunes, Eat My News, Invested Prism, IDBI Federal, State Bank Of India also provided internship opportunities to our students. Besides the regular activities Deloitte organized a competiton called Graduate School Of Maverick for students where the winner won a prize money and an internship at Deloitte. More than 900 students have been provided with internships in all three years.

Placement cell has also been organizing talks, seminars and workshops by various reputed companies. The Indian School Of Development Management, Deloitte USI and Pearl Academy conducted skill enhancement workshops for our students to equip them with the desired skills for the corporate world. With the relentless support from our placement coordinator, the Cell has been growing from strength to strength.

(2018-19)

The Placement Cell serves as an interface between the students and the Corporates. Apart

from bringing various recruiters to the campus, it also organizes talks, workshops and

provides internship opportunities for all the students of the college.

The Placement Cell of Jesus and Mary College, Delhi University had another fruitful year of

placements for the academic year 2018-19. It brought in wide variety of job opportunities for

students of different departments. Various new companies including start-ups as well as top

companies approached us for fresh talent.

All the activities of the Cell are carried out tirelessly by the placement cell team consisting of

Jovita Joy (President), Aanchal Jacob (Vice President) and a student committee under the

expert guidance and supervision of placement cell coordinator Mrs Sunita Narain.

In spite of the job market looking bleak this time around, we saw many leading corporates

recruit a considerable number of students from our campus. Companies like Deloitte, EY,

ICICI bank, Macquaire, PwC, Accenture, Wills Towers Watson, etc came in for placements

and more than 100 students have been placed and few results are still awaited.

Besides placements, talks, internships and competitions were also organised by the

placement cell.

‘EY Corporate Finance Women of the Year’ competition was conducted for B.com and

Economics students of second and third year. We are proud to say that Tanushka Lahiri, a

second year student from Jesus and Mary College pursuing BA Economics (Hons) won the

first phase of the competition that took place at a country level and was flown to London for

the Global Final in February 2019.

PLACEMENT CELL ANNUAL REPORT

(2019-20)

The Placement Cell of Jesus and Mary College operates round the year to provide not only job opportunities

to the third year students but also internships to all the students of the college. It serves as an interface

between the students and the Corporates. We aim to invite companies from various fields in order to make

range of opportunities available for the students of all courses.

The Placement Cell has had another fruitful year of placements and internships as several regular as well

as new companies visited the campus for the recruitment drive. We have had 84 companies coming to Jesus

and Mary college for placements which included BCN, Deloitte USI, Talentl, EY, Wipro, PwC, Accenture,

Macquarie, AXA XL, Oberoi Hotel, ITC Hotel, ICICI Bank and others. Due to the COVID pandemic,

some of the companies cancelled while others put a hold on their recruitment drive. In fact, we saw huge

surge in the of paid and Unpaid Internship opportunities for students- companies like Metvy, One Plus,

Ernst and Young, Barcodent, Teach for India, Oyster connect, Awign, ZI media, Apollo Hospital, Young

India Foundation, Lead IAS, Ureka Education Group, Dubai, and many more. Around 191 companies have

come with internship offers till now and more are in the line with the ongoing recruitment process. As of

now 290 students are selected for the internship with various companies.

The Cell also organises talks, workshops and competitions to equip students with life skills and to provide

career guidance about avenues open after graduation. We had a Session on ‘Interview Techniques &

Education Counselling and other additional Support by Aspirations Abroad, Jobs vs Higher education vs

Entrepreneurship by Talerang, ‘Let’s talk future- varied Opportunities’ by Pearl Academy, MBA as a career

option and also a webinar on ‘How to COVID proof your career’.

Competitions were held by Ernst and Young- corporate women of the year, Tata Consultancy, KPMG,

Deloitte and others also took place in which students from our college participated enthusiastically.

To conclude, all the activities of the Cell are carried out tirelessly by the placement cell team

headed by Minnu Mathew (President), along with a student committee under the guidance and supervision

of Placement Cell Coordinator Mrs Sunita Narain.
