Career Summary I am presently the head, Department of Political Science, University of Kashmir. I have been a member of several South Asian civil society networks and have authored books and research papers mostly on themes of electoral politics, identity politics, peace processes and democracy in South Asia. I was a visiting fellow at the Delhi University’s Department of Political Science in 2018 and worked as State Coordinator from 2002-2014 for the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies(CSDS), Delhi at its Lokniti network. I coordinated projects/election surveys on elections in Jammu and Kashmir, youth empowerment and state of democracy in South Asia. At the University of Kashmir, I have previously served as director of the UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Institute of Kashmir Studies during (2013--2016) when Kashmir university hosted approximately eighteen scholars from various SAARC countries for enhancing people to people contact. In this way I had the unique opportunity to contribute to global education and also to Regional understanding by preparing the soft power for societies and States in South Asia. Additionally, I have served as Provost and undertook several reforms in the hostel sector of the University of Kashmir. As director of the UGC- Human Resource Development Centre I tried to widen the knowledge base of the centre. I. Career Summary

I am presently the head, Department of Political Science, University of Kashmir. I have been a

member of several South Asian civil society networks and have authored books and research

papers mostly on themes of electoral politics, identity politics, peace processes and

democracy in South Asia. I was a visiting fellow at the Delhi University’s Department of

Political Science in 2018 and worked as State Coordinator from 2002-2014 for the Centre for

University Belfast and have been keynote speaker for many conferences.
