Halliwell is a purpose-built Care Homeproviding nursing care set in beautifulgrounds on the outskirts of historic RoyalTunbridge Wells.

Although Halliwell is a large and modernnursing home, it is both warm andwelcoming throughout.

The Home has 64 rooms arranged overtwo floors, accessible by lifts. All roomshave their own front door and en-suitefacilities, many with showers, and mosthave views over the landscaped gardens.We have five well-appointed sitting areaswhere residents can enjoy a relaxing andconvivial atmosphere.

We have a state-of-the-art call system thatallows residents to alert staff from theirrooms and the surrounding gardens.

We seek to provide the highest standardof care to our residents in convivialsurroundings. By using a holistic andtherapeutic approach we involve residentsand their families in the planning anddelivery of care.

Residents are actively encouraged toexercise choice and to enjoy life to its fullpotential, physically, emotionally andspiritually. Stimulating group and one to

one activities are encouraged according toindividual needs, abilities and aspirations.Resident-centred care is at the heart of ourphilosophy .

We are committed to engage first rate andhighly trained staff and use the latest andbest equipment. We also pay carefulattention to the general design anddecoration of the Home as we seek tocreate a homely, elegant and comfortableenvironment for our residents.

We are proud of our high standard ofcuisine and can cater for a wide range ofdietary requirements.

Visitors are always welcome at Halliwelland if residents wish to invite friends orrelatives to join them for a meal, we simplyask for prior notice. A small charge ismade for guests’ meals. Refreshments areavailable throughout the day for bothresidents and guests.

An individual care plan is agreed with anamed nurse and regularly reviewed withthe resident and their family if appropriate.Residents are encouraged to live asindependently as they wish and staff areon duty 24 hours a day to help in everypossible way.

Medical care is undertaken by a local GP.Visits by the GP can be arranged orassistance offered to attend the localsurgery.

In addition to long-term care, we offerconvalescent, palliative and respite care. Ifsomeone is living at home but being caredfor by relatives or friends, we can arrangefor them to come in for a short stay to givetheir carers a holiday.

We believe residents should retain as muchof their independence and mobility aspossible. Important to staying fit andactive is the stimulus of living with like-minded people. In addition, residents canenjoy trips in our specially adaptedminibus to places of interest andentertainment or simply to the local shops.

There is a continuous programme ofevents, including a gentle fitness exerciseprogramme led by our highly-experienced,events co-ordinator.

‘Friends of Halliwell House’, made up oflocal volunteers, take a great interest inHalliwell by visiting and befriendingresidents. Residents, of course, are free toparticipate in the leisure activities thatappeal to them most.

can find additional help in the form ofwelfare benefits, charitable funds, andother assistance available to them fromthe charity’s Turn2us website andhelpline services.

Take the M25 and leave at exit 5, takingthe A21 towards Hastings. Ignore the firstsign to Tunbridge Wells, which is atTonbridge. Keep on the A21, until
