About Scadding Court’s Entrepreneurship ProgramsTHE NEWCOMER ENTREPRENEURSHIP HUB (NEH) offers as-piring entrepreneurs:n Free pre-incubation training by industry experts.n Mentorship by local entrepreneurs and business professionals.n Guided workshops to help participants map out their ideas through completion of a Business Model Canvas.

THE WOMEN’S ENTRE-PRENEURSHIP HUB (WE-Hub) is a free pro-gram for self-identified women entrepreneurs. WE-Hub offers entre-preneurship training, business mentorship, net-working, and idea-testing opportunities as well as wraparound supports. Over the past three years, the program has supported more than 100 women in launching busi-nesses across the GTA.

My name is Reem Taha and I do abstract paintings. I’m an undercover artist who keeps my work in a safe, secret place. I’m a Mediterranean Princess of my own imaginary land.My inspiration comes in the shape of a dream. Most of my work comes after midnight. I wake up around 2 a.m. and, having an art attack, I spill my spell over canvas and then go back to sleep. The next day, I decide whether to ruin this thing or, ‘ya,’ this is crazy enough to be shown in public.

Our brand believes that caring for both people and the planet is important. The Lab provides skills development opportunities to empower our team to follow their visions. Every product is designed in-house and created from 100 percent repurposed and rescued fabric.

CHRISTINE is a mother, grandmother, avid gardener, and all-around energet-ic person. Her love of fabric is a long and personal one that reminds her of childhood. In her spare time, Christine enjoys sewing, walking, gardening.

LEONORA came to Canada from the Philippines and is the mother of two. She loves colourful floral pat-terns and enjoys sewing, fashion/design and photography/videogra-phy. Her favourite fashion designer is Filipino born Silverio Anglacer.

JENNY came to Canada as a child in the 90s from China and is now a mother of two, who is passionate about justice. In her spare time, Jenny loves to use old fabrics to create new pieces.

HALI is a mother of 7 children and a grandmother of 3. Hali has over 2 de-cades of upcycling and hand sewing. In her spare time, Hali enjoys home gardening and going for local walks.

HAMDI is an aspiring fashion design-er and entrepreneur. She specializes in fabric and textiles with a focus on fashion history and online illustrations. Hamdi loves web toons, anime and trying new recipes in her spare time.

VICTORIA is a single mother of two whose vibrant and passionate look on life has influenced her love of crafts. Victoria is a hard-working, fun-loving Black woman who in her spare time enjoys cooking, DIY’s and plants.
