Message from Trustee

When you are inspired by some great purpose,

some extra ordinary project, all your thoughts break

their bonds; your mind transcends limitations;

your consciousness expands in every direction;

and you find yourself in a great new and wonderful

world.

Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive

and you discover yourself to be a greater person by

far than you ever dreamed yourself to be. "

— Patanjali

As correctly said above, Education is the basis of all progress. It is for this very reason that

Gajera Trust has forayed into education. Our experience has taught us that progress is possible

only, if men and women are equally well-educated.

The entire purpose of education is not to restrict itself to imparting bookish knowledge only but

inculcate humanitarian values like wisdom, compassion, courage, humility, integrity and

reliability in a learner. We, just like you, believe in holistic education for your child,

encompassing – academics, co-curricular activities, sports education and life-skills learning.

At our school, we impart education that is based on conscience and we rear a breed of young

minds that are bustling with self confidence, motivation and ever ready to take up challenges and

as in the beginning of this new academic session 2029-20, our learners and parents are all

prepared for setting the new horizons of the new learning. Learners were welcomed to school

with great zeal and enthusiasm. Parents were engaged in orientation programs and were given

guidance to go ahead with positive motivation to be a child’s constant companion in learning.

Along with it, now it is time for summer holidays! Be considerate towards birds and animals in

this hot season. Eat well and enjoy safely! Spend time with your children as it is the greatest

thing we can do for them!

Waiting for rejoining soon in this journey of learning!

Message from Principal

For GIS, the academic year 2018-19 proved triumphant and productive aeon for the students as

well as for the educators. The students accomplished great heights in academic performances.

GIS prioritised extra-curricular activities such as clubs, Echo events, competitions, sports etc.

which remained the most enjoyable activities for the learners throughout the year.

A New academic year 2019-20 has paved its way with new set of goals and prospects. The

students are elated to get their new divisions and have shown readiness to tackle the impending

challenges. They have been introduced their new curriculum. The educators of GIS have adopted

Research and Collaborative approach as the major mediums to upgrade themselves. They have

sharpened their pedagogic skills to impart something new to the learners.

I give my best wishes to the students and the educators for summer vacation which is a great

time to have a fun. It is time to read books, explore new places and harvest new information too.

I give more prominence to travelling as it is a better teacher than books. It confirms one’s

bookish and theoretical knowledge. It helps us to learn things in an easier, more lasting and

more lucid manner. Nobody can under-estimate the educational value of travelling. I hope this

summer time will be enjoyable and momentous to all. By the way, everyone would come back

with innovative and creative ideas. I would like to conclude my message with the following

quote:

“The breaks you take from work pay you back manifold when you return because you come back

with a fresher mind and newer thinking. Some of your best ideas come when you're on vacation.”

Classroom News

Welcome to School Week:

In GIS, on the very first day of their new division, learners were welcomed with crown and

butterfly sticks. They introduced themselves to the educators with great elation. They expressed

their ideas about their hobbies, interests and the games which they love to play at home. It was

really a great way to motivate the students for the first day of school to get them prepared for

their new division.

Pre-Primary Activity: Pre-Maths Concepts (Jr.K.G)

Maths activities are indivisible parts of GIS that sharpens the mathematical skills of the pre-

primary learners. Educators taught pre-number concepts like long-short, tall-short, heavy-light

and more-less through various activities. The learners derived great pleasure from these activities

and they learned new concepts of mathematics which will be helpful in their further study.

Toy Day Celebration (Jr.K.G):

‘Toy Day’ is one of the most special days of the year for the nursery students. GIS had organized

Toy Day Celebration in which the learners expressed their feelings through show and tell. They

brought their favorite toys to school and had a great time playing with toys. They amused

themselves with cycle-rides, various slides and see-saw. It was really one of the most memorable

days for the toddlers.

A Day to School with Mummy (Jr.K.G):

‘A Day to School with Mummy’ was organized for the mothers of Jr.K.G wherein around 42

mothers participated. Mothers were asked to accompany their child to school in their old school

uniforms and experience the learning at school. Mothers were engaged in daily schedule of kids

like prayers, circle time, study time, origami and recess time. Mothers were so excited and

enthusiastic in doing the activity with their child. They got really emotional while sharing their

experience they got at school today. We appreciate our parent’s involvement in such programs at

school and wish to do more in order to benefit the child’s learning.

Cover Story

How to get Disciplined Discipline is learnt in the school of adversity. — M.K. Gandhi Discipline means the training of the mind and character of a person to observe self-control of

habits of obedience to the superiors, seniors or to the established authority. Small children are

essentially uncivilized, and part of the job of parenting inevitably involves a certain amount of

correctional work. With toddlers, you need to be patient and consistent, which is another way of

saying you will need to express and enforce the same rules over and over and over again. “Time

outs” work very effectively with some children, and parents should watch for those moments

when they (the parents) may need them as well. Seriously, take a breather when you are feeling

as out of control as your child is acting.

Distraction is another good technique; you don’t have to win a moral victory every time a small

child misbehaves if you can redirect the behavior and avoid the battle. The overall disciplinary

message to young children is the message that you don’t like the behavior, but you do love the

child.

Think praise rather than punishment. Physical discipline, like hitting and spanking, tends to

produce aggressive behavior in children. Keep in mind that it’s always a parental win if you can

structure a situation so that a child is earning privileges (screen time, for example) by good

behavior, rather than losing them as a penalty. Search for positive behaviors to praise and

reward, and young children will want to repeat the experience. But inevitably, parenthood

involves a certain number of “bad cop” moments, when you have to say no or stop and your

child will be angry at you — and that’s fine, it goes with the territory. Look in the mirror and

practice saying what parents have always said: “I’m your mother/father; I’m not your

friend.”

As the parents and the educators, we should be trying to regulate our children’s behavior.

Our “civilizing” job as parents may be easier, in fact, if we acknowledge the strength of those

difficult emotions, and celebrate the child who achieves control. And take advantage of the

opportunity to demonstrate what you do when you have lost control or behaved badly: Offer a

sincere parental apology.

Toy Day Competition (Sr.K.G):

Toys are inseparable companions of the toddlers. In GIS, ‘Toy Day Competition’ was held for

Sr.K.G learners to give way to their feelings for the toys. They brought their own toys such as

teddy bear, magic crate box, elephant pillow, Barbie doll etc. and spoke some lines on their

favorite toys. It was a great opportunity for them to improve their presentation as well as

communication skills.

Career Guidance (Class X):

Planning a career is a lifelong process, which begins by choosing the course stream of your

choice. It is important to think wisely while selecting the right career oriented course and

arriving at the right decision. Career Guidance Seminar for class X was held in GIS to direct the

learners towards their bright future. They were made aware of various career oriented courses

and opportunities of which they are capable of. It was a great time for them to clear their doubts

and dilemmas.

Essay Writing Competition on World Earth Day (Classes I to XII):

'In nature, nothing exists alone.'

International Mother Earth Day is aimed at sharing responsibilities and setting agendas for a

peaceful co-existence with nature. In order to make our young learners aware of their

responsibilities towards our planet, an Essay Writing Competition was held and they were given

topics related to the burning issues wherein they wrote their understanding and views and did it

well.

“NOT FEMINIST BUT HUMANIST"

FEMINISM" a very heavy word... As per saying feminism, everyone knows what it means. But

do they know the exact meaning of it? Does it mean right for females? No, it is not about right

for females, it is about equal rights for them but when it comes to humanism, it is not only about

females or only males but each and every person present should get equal right and opportunities

according to their talent, as well as equal right for all on the basis of caste, qualifications, color,

knowledge,etc...

The seeds of weakness are sown in girls by their society and surrounding. Let’s take an example

of school campus. If a work given by the teacher is not completed by students which include

both boys and girls, teacher will be less tempted on girls then the boys and even they are given

less punishment as compared to boys because they think girls are weak. Here discrimination is

done with boys not girls which does not show the ideal of the humanist. This thing only leads to

the forceful acception that girls are weaker than boys. In this situation girls should stand for

themselves and show that they can handle the equal punishment, situation and pain that a boy

can.

The only message we want to pass through this is there should be equality among all of us. It is

not that girls should given first chance in the name of respect. The boys should also be treated

equally in each situation... If a boy cries everyone will tell him "why are you crying like a

girl!"We need to ask them that if a girl can laugh like him. Why can't a boy cry like her?

It is not difficult to make a change in this world. But, it is very difficult to make a change in a

fellow's mind.

HOLIDAY’s – SHORT TIME TO INCULCATE VALUES

Holidays are the most awaited time of the year. Holidays hold a special place in everyone’s life.

No matter how old we are or what profession we are involved in we always look forward for

holidays.

School days are said to be the best part of a person’s life. Though there is a lot of study pressure

on the students, it offers a number of other aspects to cherish throughout their lives. Among other

things, the summer, winter and autumn breaks that students get during their academic session are

the best part of their journey of learning.

What are you planning for Pappu in this vacation? We have planned Drawing for Chintu &

Dance class for Pintu! All these advancements and preplanning is found in these modern

societies without considering the interest of their children. We just want to compare or copy

about the activities planned for the children of our neighbours.

To prove our child as the best one in this whole world we do research works about many types of

non required activities. I want to ask every parent that ‘In your childhood period, how many

summer camps you had attended? And do you think that your overall development was less than

you required?’ At this time, a question arises that ‘Is it necessary to put the children in any

summer classes? And if yes then which type of?

Our children need to inculcate their moral values along with their academic education. If the

person is educated but not extrovert then his whole education becomes “ZERO”. And this is the

reason that sometimes an uneducated person outsmarts an educated person.

Holidays are the best time of the year. I always look forward for my summer holidays as these

are the longest holidays we students get during the year. I mostly spend the time with my family

and extended family. My parents also allow me to go on a few outings with friends as a reward if

I study and behave well during the holidays.

Ways to Make the Most of Your Holidays?

1. Don’t Leave Your Work

2. Follow Your Hobbies/ Interest

3. Meet Friends and Relatives

4. Go on a Trip

5. Spend Time with Your Family

Live life to the fullest potential. Break those barriers that stop you to be happy, and be a reason

of ‘ONE HAPPINESS!’

Parents Educators Meet (Classes – I to XII):

At the start of each new school academic year, parents are invited to the parents educators

meeting. This is an opportunity for parents to meet the person their child is going to be spending

a large portion of their time with, not to mention all the formative educational and social input

this person will provide.

Aside from imparting pertinent information regarding the curriculum and classroom structure,

the idea is for you and the educator to form a team – a partnership that works together for the

benefit of your child.
