Advanced Inner Alchemy exercises that promote the free flow of energy throughout thebody in preparation for the Practice of the Immortal Tao• Explains how to open the GreatBridge Channel and the Great Regulator Channel• Includes exercises to strengthen andwrap the spinal cord with energy• Reveals how to create a thicker aura to protect the bodyand receive the higher frequencies of the Universal ForceThe Fusion of the Eight PsychicChannels practice builds upon the Fusion of the Five Elements and Cosmic Fusionpractices and is the final step in preparation for the Practice of the Immortal Tao. MasterMantak Chia shows how to open the Great Bridge Channel and the Great RegulatorChannel--the last of the eight psychic channels that connect the twelve organ meridiansand enable energy to flow from one meridian to another. By opening these psychicchannels in conjunction with the Microcosmic Orbit, practitioners can balance andregulate the energy flow throughout the body to protect all the body’s centers.Master Chiaalso illustrates the Spinal Cord Microcosmic Orbit practice, which strengthens and wrapsthe spinal cord with energy, and the practice of Sealing the Aura, which creates a thickeraura to protect the body and facilitate the reception of higher frequencies of the UniversalForce. Mastery of the practices in this book enables the creation of the energy bodyneeded to receive the larger Universal Force vibrations accessible through the Practice ofthe Immortal Tao.

It builds upon the practices found in Fusion of the Five Elements and CosmicFusion. All of the fusion practices focus on clearing the various energy pathways in thebody and are prerequisites for the practice of the Immortal Tao, found in The Taoist SoulBody. The opening of the psychic channels enables practitioners to balance and regulatethe energy flow throughout the body and to offer healing energy to Earth as well.FROMTHE CONDITIONED MIND TO TAOISMStudying the Tao is like discovering that your innerworld is as vast as outer space, and exploring that space with new cameras, telescopes, and satellites. Or it is like investigating the deepest abyss of the ocean in a submarine. It isa process of opening up to a body of infinite space. When you open your body you openyour mind as well; more specifically, you open what some call the third eye, a sense organcapable of sensing innumerable dimensions and possibilities. This is something that willrelease you from what you know as life, with its repetitious work or school, week afterweek, year after year. It has this possibility because within the mind there is no experienceother than that of expanding creation or Wu Chi (Nothingness) (fig. 1.1).Fig. 1.1.Communicate with expanding creation. To truly see this expanding creation is to see it asan actual “object” that you can hold and work with. The energy of creation can be verystrong or less intense; it is a choice you make. It can be put into your heart, eyes, orthoughts. It is a very strong healing force, because it is the essence of creation, which issomething far beyond the limits of your conditioned mind. Opening your mind enablesthis energy to expand. Then your natural healing energy, love, and creative energy cancreate something beautiful within your being (fig. 1.2).Fig. 1.2. Did you know you can reacha natural continuous state of bliss?Change into the LightLike many other people, you maysometimes feel like you have no power and cannot change anything. This is actually theessence of depression: the feeling of being trapped. The feeling that you cannot changeyour family or the world may lead to sadness, a sense of confinement, and stagnation. Butyou can. In fact it is simple, once you acknowledge that the world is constantly changingand learn how to join your energy to that. As you increase your energy with love andhappiness, you will enter the fresh beautiful river of change and creation. You see, allnegative thoughts serve to limit the mind. They make the mind its own slave. Negativethoughts pull your mind away from the river of creation. For example, after watching ahorror movie you may find it difficult to go into the forest by yourself because you arefearful of bad things that might be creeping in the woods. But if you did not watch that

horror movie and instead meditated using your third eye, you could serenely go into theforest and stare at the full moon (fig. 1.3). After falling in love with the moon you could gohome to your family and spoon-feed them with the creation energy you acquired from themoonlit forest. If we act like we know everything life becomes boring and stagnated. But ifwe understand that the energy of creation is infinite, then we can see that life holdsboundless glory outside the limits of our conditioned minds. This glory makes lifewonderfully beautiful to live. It is only our negative thoughts that keep our mind confinedto a limited posture of living.Fig. 1.3. The full moon’s energy inspires your true self toawaken.Creation energy or chi energy is the single basic element of all things in existence. It created everything and will create everything that will ever exist. The teachings of theTao offer a way to explore this energy, to connect with it mentally and physically, and to letit open a new vision of life, freeing our conditioned minds that prevent us from finding alife of unlimited potential.Creating TreasureThe Tao is so beautiful because you can “open”to it at any age, and feel like you have just discovered a treasure. When this feeling windsthrough your body, you look for further treasures, which you will find at each point in yourbody that is healed by being saturated with chi (life-force energy). Gradually your wholebody will come to glow like a rare treasure.Although you cannot take your diamonds orgold with you when you die, you can take this treasure of a magnetic compassionateheart. So do not sell yourself short; start opening up the pathways and channels of yourbody and send the chi through them. The sensation can get as strong as you allow, to healyour broken heart, toxic-ridden liver, and lungs, or whatever you will it to do.Light of aChildWhen we were children, we were told that the world was our oyster, that we could doanything. We could be energetic, playful, and silly, because we did not limit ourselves.Feeling the grandeur of everything, and wanting to expand out into it, we couldexperience the wonder of a butterfly and its life of spontaneity. But as adults we get usedto the repetitiousness of everyday life, grow bored, and stagnate. If only we knew whattype of life was available to us, we would not let our minds get stuck in such ruts.A Masterof the Tao is open to the expansive energy of creation, which makes both the body andmind soft and warm, like that of a child (fig. 1.4). If you are capable of bringing this energyinto your heart and brain you will be filled with new life. Then when you see a butterflyyou might be as happy and excited as a child. The Tao can open you up to receive theenergy of the infinite mind, which can be used wherever it is needed, such as to actualizea vision you have had but could not complete due to lack of ideas and enthusiasm.Whenyou immerse yourself in the Tao, an abundance of good energy will come your way. As thesacred energy works into your entire being, it will free your mind from all stresses so thatyou can see life clearly, and be deeply grateful for the life you are able to enjoy. Even atthis point you can still cultivate stronger and purer energy; this is why they say the Tao hasinfinite possibilities. The chi energy is a key to everything, capable of opening any blockageyou have in your mind, body, or spirit. It is just a matter of letting the chi marinate into it.Soon the toxic energy will have relaxed away, and the area will be radiating with beautifulenergy.Fig. 1.4. Chi can make the brain and organs soft as a child’s.As adults we have the

opportunity to be as empty as children, free to experience and explore this vast miraclecalled life. This potential can reach the far extremities of the planet. Imagine a time whenall people will live like this: oceans of people bathing in this most beautiful energy;compassion spilling from everyone’s heart. Life can be like a divine dance with everyoneand everything. We can know the sun, moon, ocean, forests, and mountains on a personallevel, and bathe in everyone’s personalized sacred energy, which will keep adding to ourown. The Reason Life Is SimpleYou may have felt that living a meaningful life was a distantpossibility. But by consciously putting yourself in the Tao, the reason for living will becomeclear. It just feels so good. When your whole body feels wonderful, soaking in a deliciouselixir, you do not have to stress your mind for answers. The reason is simple. Instead ofjust knowing of your spirit, you open your spirit up to be your vessel. Instead of using onlyyour five senses, you explore the senses of your infinite mind. It is a matter of letting allthe stresses of life and negative energy seep out of every little corner of your body, until itis as clear as a crystal. The more you remove, the more incredible aspects of human lifewill appear.Harmony and LeadershipEnergy cultivation will enable you to be much moreharmoniously expressive. When the energy has marinated deep enough into your core, you will naturally flow into the position of a talented and beautiful leader. This will notnecessarily happen because that was your motive, but because the natural flow in whichyou have immersed yourself will provide a basis that enables you to come to wisedecisions very simply. This is highly valued in today’s hectic and confusing world, becausejust and compassionate decisions bring radiance to all environments. When energycultivation makes it possible for the Tao to speak through you, it will naturally make you amore attractive person: pure, simple, and radiant. The Tao will become your actions andyour environment. The people that are in your life will come to you through the Tao. Asthe energy marinates deeper and deeper, it will make your body, meditations, andenvironment more radiant and pure. This energy will lift you up to feel like a star, whichwill coat all the places you visit with a pure and enlightened energy.VIRTUE OF WORLDCONSCIOUSNESSA major way to refine your chi is to develop your virtue energy.Developing your virtue energy involves being unified with Earth and all its people. Whenyour consciousness expands to encompass the world, your spiritual energy will expand aswell. It will naturally change you into a person who can relate with everyone in theworld.Just as you clean your personal body by clearing its blockages, you can extend thesame process to the world body, using the meditations in this book. Every continent needsyour energy. You can apply chi to the world’s blockages, spreading your energy over manypeople and environments (fig. 1.5). As it expands to encompass millions and millions ofpeople, your beautiful enlightened energy will naturally become vast. When it circulatesback toward you, it will be magnified countless times. That will in turn balance youremotions and your whole being. The energy that pulses through you will provide much-needed chi for other parts of our earth body. This will also allow you to communicate withother people with whom you share this beautiful body, as they are also sending chi to it,consciously or unconsciously. When your energy meets theirs, it will generate subtle

energy communication. It is important to know what has caused the blockage of spiritualenergy on Earth in order to know how to open the blocks with sincere meditation. It is vitalto uncover the truth of how individuals and groups of people have been oppressed, whether by miseducation, war, disease, displacement, or very possibly all of these. Even ifyou see a trend throughout the world, knowing specific earth “families” will give you a stillstronger connection. For example, if you were to think that the poverty of Native AmericanIndians is due to laziness and ignorance, your meditation would not be in harmony withthe truth and therefore would not be magnified but blocked. If, however, you were tounderstand that the impoverishment of Native Americans today is a result of the genocideof 95 percent of their population and the foreign occupation of nearly all their valuableland and resources, then your meditation would be in harmony with the truth and wouldtherefore be strengthened many times.Fig. 1.5. Heal the blockages on our earthbody.Knowing the root of the problem will enable you to create a much clearer channelthrough which you can send healing chi directly from your heart, and a thick steam ofcompassion from every cell of your being. At the same time, it is a process of cultivatingdevotion, through which you connect with the enlightened spirits from around the worldin their love, sacred art, and music (fig. 1.6).Fig. 1.6. The beautiful spirit of the Buddhistshines through the page.Meditating with humility on a specific earth family will help youto feel the beautiful energy of the calm, enlightened spirits that belong to that family. Youmay get radiant visions when you look through their eyes and see a time when peace andcompassion ruled over the land for hundreds or thousands of years without break. Feelthe family around you; do not try to focus too hard but feel the subtle golden vibration ofthe people. Let them touch you, whisper to you, and stare into their deep eyes (fig. 1.7).Use this energy to heal the present day situation where the energy may be blocked.Thereis another very important reason why expanding your consciousness to embrace thewhole world will magnify your spiritual energy. The universe feels safe bestowing suchstrong energy on someone if it will benefit the whole earth and not just one person. Theuniverse does not benefit much if you are cultivating energy simply for your personalpower or pleasure, but the universe will gain a great deal if you are genuinely working toheal our earth body.Fig. 1.7. You can get visions of enlightened spirits when you sendhealing love energy. In order to live with world consciousness every day you have to detachyourself from worldly desires and a focus on the desires of the spirit. When your actionsback up your meditations, you are being moved by positive energy; you are living the Tao.When you live the meditations, energy soaks deeper and deeper into your body. Aligningyour actions with the world consciousness might mean something as simple as being avessel that represents and speaks truth, perhaps through spiritual education, environmental work, or helping to rebuild communities. This requires trust and courage;do not force the energy but flow with it. Know that you are being aided and protected by ahuge spiritual energy that is alive and has infinite love for you.Saturate Your Environmentin ChiThe ability to maintain a strong connection with the chi requires trusting the energy.Negative thoughts block the chi from flowing. This is why it is important to make

connection to chi a part of your everyday life. You will be in an even better position if youcan make it your foundation in life. In fact, it already is your foundation; but you need torecognize that this energy is the basis of creation. In order to establish a lastingrelationship with chi, it is important to saturate your life in it. This can be done by listeningto music that has positive energy, organizing your living space with positive chi, andcultivating relationships with people who have positive chi.

Paul, “Essential reference for advanced practice. Mantak Chia never disappointed us withhis breadth of knowledge on the subject matter as well as with the details he presented.Eastern healing practices often come to the west as techniques, for example Indian yoga(asana and pranayama) and TM (that "proudly" claimed to be non-attached to any beliefsystem). Perhaps it would be easier for westerners (assumed being Christians) to learnthe techniques than to swallow the philosophy behind (well, not including folks like thelate famous psychologist Carl Jung). On the meditation side of the book, Mantak, as alwaysbeing exhaustive as far as techniques are concerned, including chanting (ref: tantra) andsymbol visualization (ref: mandala) of taoist Pakua, some New Age well-being imagination

(ref: customer-focus), and, SURPRISE, meditation on compassion (ref: the Dalai Lama). Why a surprise? Because I have pondering for a long time, why a common contemporaryfolk likes to train hard to be an immortal (i.e. spiritual immortality)? Play mahjong withother immortals? Like to be disturbed by Shamans from time to time asking for specialfavors? No. It has to be tied in with some religious belief, of a ever higher level ofmorality, yes, with compassion. On the side of Chi generation-techniques, Manka Chia isthorough as always. That makes it another excellent book. Mantak Chia's trainingsequence here is however slightly different from some mainstream practice. The clearingof the other six channels (in addition to the two main ones tackled in microcosmic orbit)can actually be learned separately from meditative practice, under horse stance or seatedposition. As such it can be learned for good by ones who are not yet into meditation.Interested readers can refer to chapter three of the classic book  Taoist Yoga: Alchemy & Immortality

translated by Charles Luk (of course Mantak Chia's books are more detailed in manyareas).Needless to say the meditation side of this book is quite advanced. Stage-wise, itfinished the meditation/alchemical aspect of microcosmic orbit: chi can finally breakthrough the practitioner's crown and join the macrocosmic universe.”

Jože Bernot, “Five Stars. The book is wonderful and useful. Knjiga je čudovita in uporabna.”

Alan, “Amazing. Amazing book”

Peter, “Where else do you find the information?. As a chi kung practitioner I bought thisbook to learn the bridge and regulator channels, which are part of the 8 psychic channelsor otherwise known as the extraordinary channels in accupuncture terminology. The bookis adequate in describing the technique on how to open these channels. With the text anddrawings you get good idea of where the points are located on the body. However, theillustrations and drawings could be improved upon by using photographs to show wherethese points are.In addition to learning how to open the bridge and regulator, there aremany other techniques taught for energy protection and circulation.I don't know of anyother sources, published in the English language, for this type of information, therefore agave it a 5 star.”

Rob I MacDonald, “For those new to Qigong. This is an excellent resource for how toincorporate many types of healing into your daily meditations. Mantak Chia is quiteawesome.”

The book by Mantak Chia has a rating of 5 out of 4.5. 45 people have provided feedback.
