Principal’s Message

It is indeed a joyous moment to be handed the latest draft of the Collage, which is now moving from a printed form

into its current digital form this year, which marks 33 years of the School. The Collage is a collection of not just the moments and memories from the year that has just gone by, but also

showcases the artistic and literary creations of our students and encapsulates the academic, athletic and co-curricular

achievements of Michaeleans – our students, teachers and the management. These achievements and indeed the

artistic and literary creations are the result of the natural talents of our students coupled with the immense hard-work and effort put in by them, guided by the nurturing and caring hands of their teachers and parents. So, this year's Collage gives me immense satisfaction and sense of achievement and makes me thankful to our excellent members of the staff. I am passionate and proud about my role in creating and fostering the conducive environment behind these achievements. It is the commitment, dedication and loyalty of our staff and students that continues to be the backbone of our School's success story. The move from paper-based to digital form of the school's annual magazine is a step that reduces the impact of the school on the environment and reduction of the carbon footprint. This is the general direction which the School will be taking in the upcoming years, reducing the use of paper, minimizing the impact on the environment and reducing the carbon footprint, and playing its responsible role in combating climate change. Last but not the least, I would like to thank the team working behind the scene and around the clock, who proof-read, edited and compiled this year's Collage. Thank you and congratulations on producing the first digital version of the Collage. On behalf of the School and the management, I wish all our students who are graduating this year and the very best of luck for their future endeavors and higher education, and I wish the rest of our students make the most of their talent and time and achieve higher than their expectations in academics and in life.

Mr. Peter A. Misquita7

Deputy Principal’s Message

Ms. Seema Naiyer8

I am quite delighted to review the final draft of this year's Collage which has evolved from its earlier paper-based to its current digital

form on the School's 33rd birthday. The Collage's digitalization is the first step towards making the School's annual publication more accessible, engaging and better

preserved, just as it preserves the achievements and milestones of Michaeleans and of the School itself. The most gleaming of accomplishments is that Michaeleans have established themselves and stand out in all the fields out there,

in Pakistan and abroad. Our students are continuously setting new examples and are raising the bar higher for the graduating batch

each year. Looking back at my years at St. Michael's, I feel immense pride and jubilation for my part in the journey spanning over three decades which has brought our school to where it is today: a positive, collaborative and conducive learning environment, where our students are polished and taught to use their full potential in a positive manner for the betterment of our city and country. We at St. Michael's are indeed building our nation upon the vision and Msion of our founder Principal, late Bishop Anthony Lobo. Today, the School is held in very high regards and counted amongst the top educational institutions of the city, a list dominated mostly by institutions having a history of almost a century, and for this we all deserve to hold our heads high. Part of the School's contribution towards our society is the new direction which the School will be taking in the coming years is the digitalization of the Collage. The School aims to fulfil its obligations towards the future generations by minimizing the carbon footprint and doing its responsible part in preserving the planet by fighting climate change. Finally, I would like to thank all the students and staff who contributed to the Collage this year, congratulate all our graduating students for the outstanding academic achievements and to the editorial team of the Collage on achieving the milestone of digitalizing the Collage.

Senior Supervisor VI-XI“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all”

ARISTOTLE

As today, the word education is not limited to achieving academic excellence only, over the span of this decade,

it has taken up the role of facilitating the students in identifying and nurturing their true potentials; providing opportunities to challenge their minds, and empowering them to be critical thinkers. At St. Michael’s we ensure a positive learning environment which enables them be creative in their tasks as well as their thoughts. We prepare students for a globalized world.

A school collage proves to be a window to showcase the students varied talents and achievements. It is a medium that acknowledges the effort made by the students, as well as the teaching faculty which considers every child talented and capable of experiencing success.

As a secondary supervisor. I feel honored and proud of the success my students have achieved in various competitions and events. It is always a pleasure to witness the enthusiasm and excitement of this young generation in pursuing their talents and potentials. The confidence that they display gives one a feeling of gratification that we have been successful as a team.

In achieving these goals, the continuous support and cooperation of our teachers, and esteemed parents is highly appreciated.

I hope this collage continues to serve as an excellent forum for encouraging young and creative writers and artists.

It is a memorable event in the history of St. Michael’s Convent School that we are presenting

the first E version of our school magazine.

We should enjoy every moment we have because in life there are no rewinds, only flashbacks.

We have worked hard to bring up an exhilarating flash back of the events and co-curricular activities and achievements of our

students during the session 2019-2020. Students have been motivated to contribute their writings and art work for the school

magazine.

Hopeful and praying that this effort is successful and well-liked by everyone.

Greetings!

One of the most important decisions that any family makes is the school they choose for their youngster's education.

A school that focuses on opportunity and achievement, a place where students are encouraged and supported to excel for every single step from lower nursery to the high-grade student. On behalf of the grade 8 team of St Michaels Convent School, I welcome all the readers of this brand-new E-Collage.

I am Sonia Masood, Head Teacher for grade 8 staff and students. My association with the school is the journey of few months only but I appreciate the highly positive attitude and behavior of our students and the constant focus by our professional grade 8 team members on developing and transforming teaching approaches to best meet the needs of students.

Learning in our classroom is rich and engaging, and the range of cultural, sporting and performance opportunities provides a huge number of opportunities that allow every student access to an environment where they can participate and excel. Class projects, morning assembly presentations, inter class and inter school competitions, sports day event are the highlights at our grade level achievements.

We challenge and channel students to set high expectations for themselves and support them to achieve at the highest level. We also understand that this age group of students are facing multiple challenges and continuous support and guidance is required most of the time. I believe that providing quality pastoral care to the students will make smooth transition to the next level.

I wish all the success to our staff, students for keeping the vision clear and stepping forward with positivity.

Ms. Sonia Masood

Anything that is worth teaching can be presented in many different ways. These multiple ways

can make use of our multiple intelligences.”

- Howard Gardner

To enhance the potential of young learners I provide them with a challenging, enriching, and supportive learning environment through which

the youth can build its foundation for a life of purpose, passion and meaning. My students are especially encouraged to participate in different

co-curricular activities inside and outside of school. The teachers are also helping them grow by developing their presentation, creative and

critical thinking skills.

Here in Grade IX, we teach our students to be more composed, responsible and creative, yet be able to do multi-tasking to meet tight

deadlines. This training is especially given to the students, so that they are prepared for their future life challenges; and to be determined

enough that they are able to work at their highest potential, without being discouraged from the hardships that comes during the course of

reaching their desired goals.

Ms. Sawera Farrukh

Fifteen years ago when I entered this school I had no idea I’ll come this far. Today, I’m writing this testimonial as the Head girl

of over Twenty Five Hundred students.

My journey here at St. Michaels was filled with ups and downs. I wasn’t a star student since day one and that’s how I know

that my school, my teachers and my friends have played an important part in making me who I am today by recognizing my

talents, by pushing me to be my best self and by giving me a chance to channel my talents.

From securing positions, to being the class monitor, to getting a gold medal for O levels, to being the president of the music

society, to this; being the head girl, has taught me that sometimes we underestimate ourselves, we are young, talented, and

there is a world of opportunities out there for us we just need to believe and of course work hard.

When someone looks at me and tells me that I inspire them, they are just looking at who I am now, they don’t realize the

people who are behind my success; Mr. Peter Misquita and Ms. Seema Naiyer, who always want the best for their students,

the two people I look up to. Mr. Kevin Lobo and Ms. Nausheen Hammad, who made these two years of A levels the most

memorable years of my life, who have seen me work hard, discovered my potential and these are the two people I don’t want to

let down. Moreover, I am super grateful to all my teachers, the entire faculty without whom I would be nothing.

I am honored that I got the chance to serve as the Head girl of this school which will always have my heart. Being at this

position taught me how to be responsible, accountable, firm and passionate and these are the qualities I’ll always hold onto.

Head girl 2019-20,

Signing off.

There is a universal truth that we all have to face; whether we want to or not, everything eventually ends.

When I reminisce about the day I first entered St. Michael's, a four year old helpless toddler who was unable to do anything himself struck my mind. Today as I leave this institution, I've grown up to become a young adult who is capable of so much more on his own. Never did I imagine that one day I'd be serving as the head boy of our school and today I can proudly say I've done that. Being entrusted with the responsibility to lead as the head boy of the school was not only a great duty but a pride that I shall never forget. It led me to discover my abilities beyond any boundaries. This institution has not only taught me to spread my wings and fly to the highest peak but has also taught me to stay grounded. Learning to look ahead and be optimistic while taking new projects, assignments and challenges in not only my professional but personal life is what I see every student taking from here, just like me.

Signing off as the head boy of 2019-2020 I'm taking a huge box of memories to cherish forever.

Outstanding Cambridge Learner’s Award

“If you can dream it, you can do it” ~ Walt Disney

It started off as a dream for me too - to achieve an award of academic excellence in my Cambridge exams. Yes, it seemed a bit far-fetched to think of, but the feeling of excitement that accompanied just the

thought of accomplishing such a milestone was simply irrepressible. A feeling, which multiplied each time I revisited these aspirations until soon, I was determined to work for. It took a lot of effort but

the end seemed worth the struggle.

However, I did not accomplish this on my own. It wasn’t simply my own efforts that led me to turn this dream into a reality; in fact, I

was extremely fortunate to have been supported and motivated by my family and all of my teachers who helped me pursue what I once deemed a fantasy. It was their hard-work, guidance and prayers that

truly enabled me to reach for my desire to attain such an achievement. I am privileged to have studied at Saint Michael’s, an institution where I found teachers, management and other faculty members to have a really encouraging and caring attitude towards students, facilitating them to become competent individuals ready

to face the challenges that life has in store for them, while simultaneously aspiring to achieve tremendous milestones that they

dream of. I am extremely grateful to each and everyone of my teachers who taught me during my 13-year stay at the wonderful

institution and for being my mentors along the way.

Lastly, as a message to my fellow Michaeleans, I would like to quote Elon Musk: “The first step is to establish that something is possible; then probability will occur.” Dream big. I won’t say achieving your

dreams is easy but I will say that is possible.

From: Illiyun (High Achiever)

How I felt the day that I was given the news of my distinction result in the Religion CAIE.

It was a feeling of utter disbelief that first enveloped me when I received that news.

To think that someone so inconsequential and small as me had achieved a thing that no one else in the entire Pakistan had been able to. It was an extraordinary moment having received a mere congratulatory text message from my friend announcing the big news. My shock was visible as it manifested itself into my expression. There was unbelievable, maniacal delight that followed as well, of course. But my insecurity kept conjuring petrifying scenarios where my name in that prestigious list would be a typing error- a mistake. After the Cambridge award ceremony however, everything felt much more real-though it was still as much wonder as it was joy.

I have been asked countless times since that first Tuesday, how did I manage to accomplish such an extraordinary feat? The answer is simply interest. It may seem like an incredibly far- fetched theory, but I always score well in subjects that pique my curiosity that animate me. To simply read the matter from a textbook and simply write it down on the answer sheet was unacceptable, this subject needed to be studied with a kind of devotion that was unyielding. I used to write down summaries of every topic I finished studying and tried to come up with new interpretations of the given problem parables and metaphors, then give them to my teacher and her gleeful praise of them would always make me feel immense pride in my work. So, my tip would be to focus on the written material given to you, but do not treat it like the barred door of a cage. Cambridge, looks for implicit understanding and astute preparation. Innovative answers and unique reasoning will certainly land you in the highest percentile possible. Good luck!

teachers, which our talented students recited in mellifluous tone, with extreme

respect, conveying the message of Almighty Allah. After this, came the heart

soothing beautiful Naats, that the contestants recited in their melodious voices, reviving the love for the Holy

Prophet, leaving the audience enthralled throughout the competition

The A- level beach trip was organized on Monday, 25th November 2019 at the Manora Island. A total of 45

people (23 students 22 staff) went on this trip. We left the school premises at around 8:50 a.m. and after

reaching Kemari, cleared the security check to board the launch waiting for us. The launch cruise was

something new for the A S student, as it was their first trip. Selfies and group pictures were taken on the

launch. After reaching Manora the naval van took us to the hut. Excited as the students were on seeing the

calm beach, but were very soon disappointed to know that there was an emergency imposed on swimming

due to an incident that had occurred the previous day. This did not discourage the students from enjoying

themselves on the shore as they started clicking pictures, playing games i.e. they played dog and the bone,

kings and some played cricket with their teachers, Dr Noor and Mr Shaghaf.

Starters were served in the form of wontons and chicken wings at 12:40. Later on, a scrumptious lunch was

served. The lunch included chicken biryani, Karahi, tikka boti, seekh kabab, kachori vegetable, Kulfi, naan,

paratha puri, salad and soft drinks. At about 3:00 p.m. hot tea was served.

We left the Naval Beachat 3:30 p.m. to reach the jetty and from there into the launch to reach Kemari. We

reached school at 4:30 p.m.

It was a wonderful experience for the students who enjoyed the trip and had wonderful time.

Word War by Literary Society

When it is a matter of competence, our champions do not disappoint! Earlier in December of 2019, the Literary Society organized a magnificent event for

the lovers of Public Speaking and Creative Writing, by the name of Word War. Students of grade 8-11 participated in a heady tournament of

word and spirit. It was for both the lovers of English, and Urdu, as expression tends to manifest best in the language of choice. For the part of the

speaking segment, younger participants were provided with meticulously chosen quotes to mull

over, and then present their opinion and interpretations of, while more senior participants were shown thought-provoking pictures and were

given the stage to present their thoughts. Those who participated in the writing segment, were given three different story prompts to choose from, along with a generous word limit! The

response received was overwhelming. The awards were distributed to our talented winners earlier in

January, during the morning assembly

Hi everyone! Today, I will tell you about my experience of the Inter school Declamation contest in Dawood Public School. It was held in a huge auditorium. There were many

students and for a second, I thought I was at the metro pole. As I was one of the contestants, so, they appreciated and gave me the first seat. There were many schools

like KGS, St. Michael’s Convent School, Beacon house, BVS, Mama Parsi Girls Secondary School, PECHS, Qamar-Bani Hashim School etc. Obviously, at that time my anxiety was at

its peak. I was shivering and having goose-bumps. Turn by turn the students presented their speeches. I was really impressed by their point of view. When my turn came, I did my best in delivering the speech. Although, I didn’t get any position but got a good exposure and an experience. Shahjahani MasjidThatta

A wondrous building and a token of gratitude to the Sindhi people for their renowned generosity and hospitality.

Shahjahani Masjid

Location

It is located in eastern Thatta, the capital of Sindh in the 17th and 18th centuries. It is located approximately 100 kilometres from Karachi. A recognizable landmark Neary is the Makli necropolis ( graveyard ).

Location of the Shahjahani masjid

Shahjahani Masjid

HistoryShahjahan had taken refuge after his rebellion from his father Jahangir in Thatta. When Shahjahan became king he built this building as a token of gratitude and help in alleviating the effect of a 1637 storm. Shahjahan ’s attempt to capture Samarkand led to the influence of Timurid art which is visible in the masjid. The masjid was built during 1644 and 1647 while an astern addition was completed in 1659. According to tradition, the mihrab ( the area from where the imam leads the prayer )was incorrectly aligned with Makkah but Makhdoom Nooh, a Sufi mystic, corrected it overnight when approached by the builder using the power of his prayer. Historical records show that the mihrab was actually rebuilt a century after the masjid ’s construction.

Shahjahan

Shahjahani Masjid

ArchitectureThe architectural style is influenced by Turkic and Persian styles. There is extensive brickwork and use of blue and white tiles which show Timurid central Asian influences, which were probably brought by Sindh's previous rulers, the Tarkhans, who hailed from central Asia.

The Mihrab of the Masjid The internal part of a dome

Shahjahani Masjid

Decorative Elements

Tilework

The tiles represent a direct Timurid influence. cobalt blue, turquoise, manganese violet, and white tiles are used. calligraphy is also done and is signed by Abdul Ghafoor and Abdul Shaikh. the location and pattern of the tiles and the use of multi-coloured and floral tiles reflects Persian influence. brickwork is done in Timurid geometrical patterns.

The Impressive Brickwork A corridor in the Masjid

Layout

The layout is influenced by the Humayun masjid in India. The entrance is through a quadrangular -shaped entrance (Charbagh) while the mihrab features pierced screens. There are excellent acoustics and a speech can be heard throughout the masjid if the volume exceeds 100 decibels (db. ). prayers in the main hall can be heard throughout the masjid. There are, unusually, no minarets, but that is made up for by the presence of 93 domes.

Courtyard of the Masjid Entrance to the Masjid

Conservation

Restoration was carried out by Aurangzeb in 1692 and by Murad Ali khan Talpur in 1812. It has not been conserved to the high standards of the Badshahi and Wazir khan mosques.

Women are so misjudged nowadays. A lot of people or women don’t understand why men are favored? Is it just

because they earn the family name? In some villages if a girl is born, they will burn her or kill her just because she is a girl. People think women are useless, worthless and do not need to be educated but we are more worthy than that. Before the WWI in 1914, women worked at home and looked after their family but during the war they were working constantly and then after the war, women adopted new fashions and did all the things that they thought men could do alone. Nowadays when on one side women are misjudged, on the other side there are tons of women who are pilots, doctors, nurses, lawyers and even work in the Navy. So those people in society who misjudge women, take a look around you, the world is full of capable, valuable and deserving women. Women can do wonders too. Nobody can stop a women from being educated or stop her from following her dreams. Every women should have their own rights. People will take advantage of those who are innocent, those who remain silent. We can speak for our rights. We should fight how the women fought in WWI and one day no one will think women are less than men. To all the women, just be strong and happy. You all are PRECIOUS!

Failure And Success

Failure is when you are unable to achieve your goals in a particular category. That is when you are labeled

as a failure and success is when you have reached your goals and that is when you are labeled as successful.

Failure and success are known as opposite to each other but that might be grammatically correct but in

life it is wrong. Failure is the first step towards success. Failure is not fatal but the fear of it might be.

Don’t be afraid to try neither be afraid to lose as it won’t hurt you but it will teach you, teach you to do

better the next time because in the end it’s not about winning or losing, it is about how hard you tried and

how determined you were and how much you knew.

Why do we fail so we can succeed again if u fall no one is going to pick u up, you have to pick your self-up.

Don’t give up because we have only one life one chance and we can’t waste it by giving up and once we go ,

we go there’s no coming back . Life doesn’t owe us anything neither does time they aren’t going to stop for

us.

Once a wise man said; “The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”

We all fail at something and we sometimes fail not even knowing that we have. Time is running it won’t

stop so get up and outrun it

Climate ChangeOur mother earth is now becoming a huge victim of climate change which proves to be

dangerous for the habitants of the planet. All kinds of lives are being affected; humans,

animals, plants, marine life etc. The sudden and extreme weather changes are leading to high

temperatures causing melting of glaciers which can result in floods and many other natural

disasters. Some areas are expecting unexpected snowfalls, droughts and storms. Oceans are

warming up, causing the atmospheric weather to remain hot for longer period of days. But, it

is never too late we can still save our HOME if we all work together towards effective

measures such as planting trees to reduce carbon dioxide gas concentration in the

atmosphere caused by pollution and by switching to renewable energy resources so that

burning of fossil fuels, which also causes pollution, can be prevented.

Kindness to Animals

As we all know about the current severe situation about stray dogs at the extreme amount of

cases that have been reported about the dogs biting people and transferring rabies. Due to the

lack of rabies vaccination most of these attacks are proven fatal. This situation has led to the point

where even the dogs that are harmless are being killed so I have a solution for it.

Dogs are also living things; their lives do matter and we have to work upon this situation. My idea

is to import rabies vaccines in bulk, vaccinate all stray dogs completely and put them in their own

shelter home until they are adopted and are in a safe home. The finance of this project will be

taken up through donations and charity and my campaign’s name will be "Dogs lives matter".S.M Zaid

Improving Our Country

Famous US President Woodrow Wilson once said that "If a country does not know what was yesterday, does not know what

it is today and nor what will it do in the future for its betterment." As citizens of our country, Pakistan, we never take a

meaningful look at this statement. Truly, if a nation does know about its past mistakes, it would try not to repeat them and

improve themselves, but let's talk about Pakistan's history.

Our beloved country was made for a purpose and earned its beautiful name meaning "pure”, with the belief that we would

do everything possible for our country just to achieve success with goodwill but is this statement true? We have three

principles: Unity, Faith and Discipline but they mean nothing to us. Earlier, many freedom fighters worked hard to ensure our

freedom and independence on 14th August 1947. They worked tirelessly, hoping for good results but have we ever imagined

that if they were present today, they actually might have suffered from coma!

Pakistan is totally different as compared to the past. Nowadays, people felt in money as their only comfort and

commit evil deeds, leading to the country being titled as Notorious, and the surprising fact is that, we do not

even feel ashamed of ourselves when we are being blamed for it, sadly! This is not even what our religion

teaches us.

People are facing poverty day by day due to financial problems, have a need of education, homes and ethics of

certain things. Thus, the time for regrets has passed and we should work hard today to make it a hope, spirit

and possibility to improve Pakistan with interest and enthusiasm, in the same style of our military. We

should learn to respect and acquire generosity, make education common and refresh our environment. If all

these things are done, where could Pakistan be?

So always remember to never be hopeless for anything as knowledge and intelligence, as well as hard

work always guides us to success in the world, we just have to be a warrior and face challenges to finally

reach to another bright destination. May our country always prosper...Pakistan Zindabad!

Problems faced by woman in our Society

FORCED/EARLY MARRIAGE AND HONOUR KILLING

When we feel unsafe and threatened, but realize that our family is there, we calm down thinking that everything will be alright.

But the feeling of your family being a threat to you, you have no support, you are in a stranded dessert- helpless; & scared. Have you

ever felt that?

Due to the illiteracy and narrow minds in our society, many consider having a daughter a shame and a burden. Many are sent away

without being asked about their opinion/decision to marry a person they don’t know at all and have to live the rest of their lives

with him and many face abuses. They don’t care what happens to their daughter, they think that a woman can bring honor to the

family if she marries the man their parents want and don’t complain about it. like it’s the only thing through which a woman can

bring to them- by marriage, by hiding her emotions and rights, not by social work which can change the world. According to such

people, it is better for her to take her life and not dishonor the family than for her to leave her husband.

They can’t raise their voice, can’t do anything and are treated as if not a human, she should deal with it. She is a GIRL. She is

born to be married and bring honor. She is a living dummy, a puppet who will let anyone be their master.

If they stood up- Kill them. Here is a case of honor killing;

Shafilia Ahmed was a Britain born Pakistani. She wanted to be a lawyer. She ran away from home many times. She went to

police, teachers, health organizations and told that she was being abused by her parents for being too” westernized’. She

asked for help and said that if you don’t protect me, my parents will force me into a marriage but, they asked her to go back

home because it is part of their culture. She went back home after running away and asking for help a lot of times. Then, her

parents drugged her on a plane to Pakistan when she was sixteen and a half to get her married. She swallowed a half bottle

of bleach in protest. She was hospitalized in Britain on a ward for eight weeks where no one came to visit her. She was

returned back to her family. After a few weeks her parents murdered her. They held her down and put a carrier bag down

her throat until it disappeared, suffocated her and told her siblings to watch.

FREEDOM AND EDUCATION

Again, due to our illiterate society it is said that women shouldn’t read or be educated neither go outside of the house to

work. They should stay at home and do household work because it is the only thing they can do. According to them they will

go on to the wrong tract. Stay at home. Nobody cares. We all know those annoying negative aunties who talk behind your

back - it is because they are the victim of this. They stay at home and learn whatever trash they are being taught. Staying at

home they become negative.

They are not allowed to wear whatever they want. People make it a big issue. They are also not allowed to go somewhere.

After marriage its worse. They lose the remaining rights. They are accused and told that they are talentless- they cannot do

anything. If one lands on Mars- her husband will say ''why not moon? This is so easy- you can’t do anything- just stick to

household work''. They are treated as puppets- as servants. They should do everything they have been asked because they

were born for this day - and if they don’t_ they are abused which isn’t considered as a problem.

If they fight for freedom, for justice, they are on the wrong path and will go to hell. They are disrespecting

Islam. Let me tell you this if you never read Quran with full attention: Hazrat Khadija (AS) was a CEO

and Hazrat Aisha led in a battle.

Another thing - sexism. If anything is wrong, there is a woman behind it. If a woman is driving a car and

gets into an accident- it’s because she is a woman, not new or because she is bad at it. There is a barrier

for them to do anything.

And the last thing which is the greatest problem is sexual harassment and we need to be really careful.

Even in the western world where women get to raise their voice, they can’t raise their voice against

sexual harassment.

Meanwhile, where women are not even sent to school…… What about them?

‘I Was … In Nothingness’

It was really peculiar, that feeling. Not strange enough but still weird. It was as if I had lost the most important thing of my life, as if it

was the only treasure had. But I was still unable to link it with the sudden boost inside my body, like my adrenal gland had spiked.

“Ooooo…..kaka, kaka……lalalalolololo..oooo..” were the first words I heard as my vision clarified. “Who is this? Who are all of you?” I

shrieked in fear as I glanced at the half-faced people around me. I felt that they were trying to communicate with me. But all of them,

suddenly bowed down as a huge fat half-faced person walked through the crowd and in the same unusual language greeted me, or as I

thought. As I tried to stand up I could still feel the pinching pain in my numb legs when the “Half-Chief” picked me up and began taking

me somewhere.

It was the most unusual place I had ever seen. There were huge trees at every corner of the town and it seemed as if they were some

source of energy, forming a shield around the town. Beyond the island, there was a huge abyss of nothingness and in the middle, there

were large buildings and millions of people working in them. But the amazement I developed by watching the absorbing scenery of the

town, all went to dust when the chief took me inside a cave, in fact the brightest cave I had ever seen. He threw me down on a chair and

began speaking something, I finally understood “Alalala……..Aaaachiiigo…..boooong… chachiii,”

The chief said pointing towards the walls. There were these weirdest drawings with humans fighting with their guns and Msiles against

some alien creatures and then the world blew up, leaving just a couple of islands. “So you are .... Some of the survivors of third World

War?” he nodded. “Oh, by the way, I am Doctor HANCOM FIST ... ..” as I shook his hand, “how did you find me?” I inquired the chief.

But he did not reply. He was standing in the utmost shock with his eyes and mouth wide open. Just then I heard an explosion.

I rushed out with the chief and found some drones destroying the buildings. There was dust and smoke all around and

the people were panicking, rushing here and there, shouting as if the world had come to an end. Then a most unhuman

creature landed in front of me. It might have been human because he had a heart and brain but the tentacles from his

mouth made him look like a complete predator. It was very clever of me that I began running away from the creature

since by the time he began to chase me I had no time to even think where I should go. The bloodlust in the creature’s

eyes was still there, even though there was a little chance that he could catch me. But looking behind, I was struck

with shock when I saw a whole army of the predators behind me so I kept running and running, waiting for

something to happen.

But nothing happened, despite all the patience. So I just jumped off with my eyes closed. It was then that I

remembered everything. From the war to my shipwrecking on this island and me being buried by my friend, Alan. It

was the same feeling of loss I had felt before, the loss of my first life and my friend. But I did not need it, for now, I was

also, in nothingness.

She’s strong but she’s exhausted,She’s struggling but nobody’s there.

Her eyes, a sea of secrets, Her smile, hides her pain.

If only silence could be heard,Hers would be felt deep in the veins.

She considers herself fragile, Easily broken to pieces.

Little does she know the truth,Her personality is what appeases.

Her sensitivity shows aliveness,Numbness is no better than death.

It makes her more humane,More ardent with every breath.

A Landscape of desolation and banishment.

There are no bodies here, we dream a hopeless dream,

A promise unfulfilled, was now fulfilled.

Schemed to snatch her from the blooms, and make her, forever his.

The Dark Lord in love, now that’s interesting.

Cruel Us!!

Beauty nature filtered with flowers

But we humans destructed it by our building and towers

Coming to an end destroying the ozone layer

What did the nature do? That is really unfair

Birds, trees or it’s the sky

All are in pain but cannot cry

Before us they lived in the grounded heaven

There were eight heavens not seven

A big destruction example is the Australia’s fire

Humans are literally a stubborn occupier

Earth begs for its life and it’s breed

But it doesn’t know humans are devils and it’s impossible to be freed

Some repeated pains of Earth are

“Please let me breathe, you let my oxygen pollute far

Forgive me that I gave you many blessings

Treated you happily, with my full acceptance like you are the king

You’ll see one day I’ll throw all my burden out

You guys will feel sorry, nowhere to go, you’ll panic, you’ll shout!!!”

Please be a human and treat our planet fairly

If not our deaths are soon to come clearly

Earth’s only prayer left is to throw the humans

To see them in pain, beat them and throw them in the bin

Water, air, noise or any kind of pollution

Humans are always a ahead in this type of corruption

I, personally feel for my dear planet truly

We hurt it, we beat it, we bully it, but even then we want blessings in return, really??

Don’t you feel like a killer yourself?

It is like a human talent

But remember it is really the end of the world and cruelty is the hint.

Day of Judgement

Oh! What a fear

The day of Judgement is near,

The day will be started by blowing trumpet,

And the keys of Jannah will be given to our beloved Prophet (PBUH),

The sun will get closer to the earth,

All bodies will turn into dirt.

A big tsunami will come,

Everyone will cry and run,

The dead ones will come out and would make a line,

When accountability will begin,

The sinful people will pay a huge fine,

And when the judgement will end,

Those in Paradise will get fruits and scent.

In today's age and time every individual is competing with each other and this world has

become nothing but simply a rat race where materialism is at its peak and in all this, has

someone thought about the disabled and neglected individuals this society consists of. Well!

the members of the Community Service Society not only thought about them but also got a

golden chance of visiting them as well....

A trip to Dar-ul -Sukoon was planned by the management and the members got a chance to

light the lives of some beautiful angelic souls....

It was a one-hour trip but it was worth the effort. Watching the spark and smile on their faces,

made us overwhelmed and made us realize how important it is to serve humanity. At Dar- ul-

Sukoon there were people of different age groups from infants to aged adults and most of them

were left there because they became a burden on their families or simply lacked the basic

human traits.

Being able to give back to the society through this trip was more than just an act of kindness.

Later on, we distributed some biscuits among those children and attended the Christmas party

where we interacted with some of the angelic souls and it made them go over the moon.

By each passing moment the level of satisfaction in our hearts kept on increasing and therefore

motivated us to think out of the box and help those who genuinely need our help.

Testimonials

The journey of 13 golden years comes to an end and the flashback brings tears to my eyes. There is a lot to share but words could not indeed justify the emotions. This place has given me memories that I’ll cherish my whole life, be it my first day at school, when my teachers held my hands to make me feel comfortable or the last days of my O-levels with my friend like teachers. I have always been surrounded by teachers who supported me whenever I fell.My teachers Ms. Humaira, Ms. Shaista, Mr. Younus, Ms. Maria, Ms. Shehzadi, Ms. Durdana, Ms. Fatima, Ms. Sohni and most importantly Mr. Ishaq have played an enormous part in not only helping me excel in their respective subjects but also groomed me as a person. The counselling and advice by Ms. Chitra, Ms. Naiyer, Sir Peter has always helped me in my academic and personal life. This school has provided me with a platform to explore myself, be it the Inter-school declamation competition or the NaatCompetition in which I not only participated but won too “Mashallah”.And of course, how can I forget my friends that have always been there since lower nursery to date; loved and supported me and made sweet memories which I can never forget. My friends Savera, Miraal, Muzammil, Shahzaib, Ahmed, Hasan Sohail, Javeria, Natasha, Areej etc. have always made me feel like home. I’ll Ms their jokes and all the hilarious moments we have spent together, teasing each other, the masti and dance we did on the field trips and lots more. All these days are truly the best days of my life which I will always Ms and remember. I once again, thank all my friends and teachers for always being by my side and I wish all my friends, GOOD LUCK for their future. Long Live SMCS!!

I had always believed that education prepared us for life, but after spending 11 years in this prestigious institute, I learned that education, is life itself. Its fair to say that I came to this

realization only with the help of my beloved teachers and my amazing friends. All I remember from my primary years is making loads of colourful projects , playing tag with my class in

break and most of all , ending up in the nurse room very frequently just because I’ve always been a klutz. My secondary years are obviously vivid in my mind. I never thought I would

enjoy being naughty in class from time to time. Sneaking in food during class , having long and fun talks with our teachers Ms. Durdana , Ms Sohni , Ms Fatima , Ms Shahista and Ms

Shehzadi , sometimes also getting on their nerves ; all of it was fun. Ms Durdana and Ms Sohniare as heartwarming as the sun. Ms Shaista has helped and encouraged me at every step ,

maybe I was accused of getting more marks because I was a favourite but ofcourse , she’s my favourite too. Ms Fatima , how can one teach such a mentally exhausting subject to already

restless students? Truly , amazing. Ms Shehzadi and her famous ‘shortfalls’ were so bittersweet. Needless to say , my friends made everything worthwhile. Sure we fought a lot

over food and meaningless things , played uno during break , hanging out during field trips and melas , we would be talking about random stuff out of this world , but thats just us and I’m

glad I knew this bunch. These idiots made my bake sale a whole lot better. I always thought I would become more serious as I would grow up but I’ve just become more playful and bright ,

and its all thanks to the company of my loving teachers and energetic friends. All I know is that I enjoyed all of it. I’m going to Ms this precious school more than I ever thought I would.

I may have an awful memory, but I've been blessed with the ability to at least remember my fondest moments to each and every detail. I guess that

means that I won't be forgetting this school any time soon.

I've viewed school as most kids view it for majority of my life like a plain, old, boring building. But now that I think about it... we kids never had

anything interesting going on in our lives except for going to school and meeting our friends because it’s not like we had a job to invest our time

into. Not to mention how the school has molded me from a silent and shy girl to a talkative and bossy teenager (probably not good on my part) but

whether I want to show this side depends on me so majority still view me as a quiet personality. truth is that I've become more confident in my

capabilities since the last 12 years and I have quite a number of people to thank for that:

thank you, Ms Shaista, Ms Mahwish and Ms Samreen, for taking interest and believing in my writing skills.

Thank you, Mr. Najeeb, for goofing around with us and treating us like your best friends.

thank you, Mr. Abeer, for always giving us the much-needed taste of reality and the occasional advice on teenage drama.

thank you, Ms Fatima, for caring about us like a mother and also hearing out our secrets and opinions.

Thank you, Ms Shehzadi and Ms Mariam, and for ispiring us to work harder for ourselves.

Thank you, Mr. Asher, for your much-needed sarcastic jokes because no doubt they were really funny. (especially when everyone took so long to

understand them).

And finally Thank you Ms Chitra for taking care of us and listening to our problems.

And to think these are only a few names I owe thanks too. It’s a shame that I can't write everyone's names but I wish to thank all my teachers for helping

me make up my personality.

And of course, how can I forget the demons that I call friends (just kidding)? God, I will never forget our "B section" fam. I will never forget our goofy photoshoot before the farewell, or the fun we had at the bonfire, the crazy running in the bake sale, out hangouts, our paper balls and our chalk stuff (B section secret). I won't forget my girls who always heard me out when i was in my moods. I won't forget the guys for doing stupid stuff just to cause a commotion but they took care of us at the same time. I don't think I will ever forget any of you and it’s impossible to right all of your names but you know who you are (talking about all my friends, not just B section).

Dear juniors, if you ever thought of me as annoying and bossy, then I’m sorry. I guess it happens from time to time since I am short tempered but none of you deserved to be at the receiving end (well some of you did). anyway, to my junior friends, I had an amazing time with and to all of you good luck in the future.

To think this is the most I have ever complimented someone and a lot of people at one time, (yea I don't like complimenting people). but I guess what’s worse is that I can’t believe I’m leaving this school. I have had my ups and downs here but still... it was always the same building so it became home. (am I crying while typing this? No).

Well...... goodbye Saint Michael’s.

We always hear our parents and other elders say that school life is the best period of one's life, and we find ourselves wonder that how can school life be 'best' for anyone? Now that I'm writing this testimonial, I can't help but feel the truth in their words as memories of the last 13 years passed in this institution are crashing down on me. You see, school is not all about studies, I mean, yeah, but there is more to school than just education, at least for me, there was. 13 years is big chunk of one's life and I don't think I'll find the same love, comfort and most importantly, memories somewhere else in years to come. I would like to extend my heartiest gratitude to the management, to each and every one of my teachers and of course my friends and batch mates for making these 13 years the 'best period' of MY life.

This journey has been intriguing for me! I am grateful for having studied in this school for almost 11 years and now leaving this place makes me feel very emotional. There’s a reason for this feeling and that is the dedicated teachers who have supported me through the years, their hard work and motivation has made me the person I am today. THANK YOU, teachers, for believing in me persistently. The time flew and here we are, all so grown up teenagers, we have had so much fun in this institute: singing songs, playing games, enjoying when there were events. This place has surely taught me things I never knew in my life and has made me a better person for the rest of my life. I do not have words to thank you all, but yes, the fact is I will always Ms this age and school.
