24th June, 2017 Thursday Weather: Sunny

Today was the sixth day of my Australia tour. It was also my last day in Brisbane. I love Brisbane very much because it is a nice city. Our tour guide brought us to a museum. She told us something about different nationalities. They shared with us their paintings. They also danced with us. After that, we painted our face with colourful paint. It was fantastic. I love my colourful face.

23rd June, 2017 Friday Weather: Sunny

Today was the fifth day of my Australia tour. It was our last day in Crown Plaza Hotel. The room in this hotel was great so I liked this hotel very much. In the morning, we did not need to go to school any more. So we went to catch crabs. We went to a big boat and went fi shing. It was very fun. We ate the crabs that we caught by ourselves. They were delicious. I was proud that I could make food by myself. In the afternoon, we went to the Paradise Country. There were many different kinds of animals. They were very lovely. I fed them with Kenji happily. We fed pigs and sheep. After that, we watched the show that the shepherd and dogs worked together to guide a fl ock of sheep. It was amazing. I enjoyed this trip very much.

22nd June, 2017 Thursday Weather: Sunny

Today was the fourth day of my Australia tour. I woke up before the morning call. My roommate, Kenji thought that I was very excited about the trip. It was our last day in South Port State School, so I was a little bit sad to say goodbye to this beautiful place. I started to miss my buddies and teachers here so I have already prepared some gifts from Hong Kong for them. My buddy Courtney gave me a key ring. Its shape was round. I felt thankful for her gift. At last, we took a photo together happily. After school, we went to the Movie World by coach. We were very excited but we were very hungry so we fi rst had lunch in a restaurant inside the Movie World. After lunch, our teacher divided us into different groups to play together. There were many different types of roller coasters in the Movie World. I felt very frightened so I just rode on the roller coaster in Children’s Zone. After that, we watched the car show. The cars were very fast and noisy. Then, I went to the souvenir shop to buy a bracelet. The bracelet was very colourful. I liked it very much. I left the Movie World happily. At night, we went back to the Chinese restaurant to have Chinese dishes again. The food was yummy.

6A Wong King Chi, Kenji

Today was the second day of Australia tour. I was very happy. In the morning, Rain and I went to a school called South Port State School. My partner was Hannah. She was very nice. We played some games and we had Chinese lesson and Music lesson. We felt very delighted. In the afternoon, Rain and I went to Tropical Fruit World. There were many kinds of fruit that we could eat. The fruit was as sweet as chocolate, especially the berries.

On the third day of our trip, we went to school early in the morning and had English lesson and Maths lesson. We were very delighted. In the afternoon, we went to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary for a visit. There were so many kangaroos hooping around on the fi eld. We fed them excitedly. I have never tried this before. It was so interesting! Besides, we saw those lazy koala bears on the trees, sleeping and dreaming. They were so cute!

4B Or Hoi Kiu, Elly Hi! I’m Elly. I come from Class 4B. Being an English Ambassador, I am responsible for teaching the lower form students English. It makes me so happy when I can help them. Also, I can learn more English words.

4B Cheung Lok Yan, Alice I am Alice. I am one of the English Ambassadors. Our duty is helping primary one and two students in learning English. We teach them how to spell the words for dictation and help them with their homework. Sometimes we play some English games like ‘Speller Jr. Game’ and ‘What Am I?’ question game with them. We are delighted and satisfi ed to see the students spell the words correctly and guess the pictures successfully. I think these games are quite suitable for them. I like being an English Ambassador because it is a good opportunity to demonstrate what I have learnt.

I had a great summer holiday! I went to Ocean Park with my family. We went there by MTR. We were very excited. In Ocean Park, my family and I watched the dolphin show. It was very good. The dolphins were cute and clever. We rode on the roller coaster, too. It was the most exciting ride in the park. We had lunch in the park. The food was more expensive than the food in a fast food shop! I had a good day with my family. I felt very happy!

Last weekend, I went to Sai Kung Country Park with my mother, father and two sisters. We went there by minibus. There were lots of grass and trees. We got off the minibus happily. I felt relaxed because the sky was so blue. First, we went to the barbecue site, then we started having our barbecue. We prepared fi sh balls, ham and some meat. We ate the delicious food. Next, I sat on the grass with my two sisters. We wanted to fl y a kite, so I took a kite from my bag. We fl ew the kite carefully. I think it was interesting. Suddenly, it was stormy and windy. We packed up our things quickly. I felt very shocked and sad because I couldn’t fl y the kite anymore. After a while, the weather became sunny again. I felt relaxed when the sun shone again. Finally, we went home happily by minibus. I felt very tired, but I had a relaxing day with my family.

I have been to different places for school picnic in the past four years such as Wu Kwai Sha Youth Village, Lei Yue Mun Park and Pak Tam Chung Holiday Camp. I like going to Lei Yue Mun Park the best because the air is very fresh and the view is especially gorgeous. I am good at playing badminton, so I have played it with my classmates excitedly. Also, I have played Chinese chess with my best friends in the activity room. It is cheerful. Moreover, I have had lunch with my classmates in the canteen and we have shared our food. Having lunch in the canteen is better than on the playground because there are fewer blood-sucking mosquitoes. In addition, we can avoid the strong sunshine.

However, there are some activities that I haven’t done before. I haven’t played video games yet because nobody has free time to play with me. I am weak in playing football, so I haven’t done so. Furthermore, I haven’t played football because lots of classmates were playing it. I waited until it was time to go back to school.

As a P.5 student this year, I would like to try something special and unique. Therefore, I would like to go to Sai Kung Outdoor Recreation Centre for school picnic this year because I would like to climb walls. I hope you would consider my suggestion.

My name is Yu Ho Ming, Kelvin. I am in Class 5A. In this email, I would like to give you my suggestion about choosing the venue for our school picnic this year.

In the past four years, I have been to Tai Mo Shan Country Park, Wu Kwai Sha Youth Village and Lei Yue Mun Holiday Village twice. Among the three sites, I like Wu Kwai Sha Youth Village best. I have played table tennis with friends and tried indoor rock climbing for the first time. I felt excited because the activities were challenging.

It was a pity because I have not done any outdoor activities due to the bad weather. I have not tried climbing on the rope course, horse-riding and arrow-shooting.

I would like to choose Ocean Park to be the venue for school picnic this year. First of all, the picnic will be held after a big exam. Every student will be stressed when they prepare for exam. It would be a great opportunity for students to relax. Also, we have been to similar places, either a country park or a camping site for four years. They are all very boring, so I want to go to some exciting places. I hope you would consider my suggestion.

She works in a fast food shop which is near our home, so she can go to work on foot. She needs to work four days a week. She likes her job. She says it is fun for her to serve other people. However, I think her job is too boring. Anyway, I think my sister is not a good waiter because she always complains about her job after coming back home. This is the end of my presentation. Last Friday was a bad day, I could not speak in my speaking exam because I had a sore throat. On Thursday, I have been watching my favourite TV show from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. and eating three bags of chips. I stayed up late eating too many salty chips. When I woke up the next day, I had a sore throat. It hurt so badly that I couldn’t even speak clearly. Then, when I went to school, I couldn’t take the oral examination. The teacher asked, ‘Why does your throat hurt?’ I said, “I ate too many chips last night.” I was so lucky that the teacher gave me a chance to take the examination on the next day. Finally, my mum did not allow me to eat too many chips or salty food. I should drink lots of water and sleep earlier at night. I have learnt a lesson.

In winter, people always wear jeans because they can keep our bodies warm and they are fashionable. That is why I like wearing jeans very much. People can buy clothes in some local shops or online stores. Then, I would like to talk about the popular food and drinks. In Hong Kong, many people like going to Chinese restaurants and eat different kinds of yummy dim sum such as chicken feet and rice noodle rolls. I think they are very yummy. When I go ‘yum cha’, my grandfather always brings his own tea such as red tea and green tea. Hong Kong people like going to Chinese restaurants because Chinese restaurants are good places to have a close interaction with family and friends. Also, I like trying different kinds of dim sum. After that, I would like to talk about toys. In the past, people were poor, so they did not have enough money to buy toys. They made toys by themselves. However, people nowadays are richer. They can buy toys by themselves. There are different kinds of toys nowadays, such as board games and e-toys. They are fun. Children like playing online games because online games are interesting. However, they do not have enough communication with their friends and parents. Some of the children like playing toys on their own. They like doing puzzles and playing plastic yo-yos. I like playing plastic yo-yos, too. Next, I would like to talk about the transport because it is very important in our life. Most people in Hong Kong like travelling by MTR. It is because the fare of MTR is very cheap. Although taking taxi is very comfortable, it is very expensive. We can fi nd different forms of transport in Hong Kong nowadays. In the past, people used human power to move rickshaws or sedan chairs. I think it was very tiring. Technology improves our lives and it makes our life better. Finally, I want to talk about my idea. If I have a chance to choose, I would like to choose to live in Hong Kong nowadays. It is because we can enjoy different good things and toys. Food nowadays is yummy and the transportation is very convenient. This is the end of my presentation. Thank you for listening.

The weather was great and the sky was blue last week. I was a member of the Brownies. The Brownies held an outdoor activity. We went to the countryside by bus. When we got there, we walked along the educational track. We saw some insects such as butterfl ies and bees. The cows were on the grassland eating some grass. The butterfl ies were colourful. I liked them very much. Then, we were very hungry, so we had a barbecue. Although the weather was hot, it was enjoyable. When the leader was preparing the food, I took out the honey. We ate a lot of delicious food such as marshmallows. Sausages, fishballs and bread. We drank soft drinks and juice when we were thirsty. After that, we played some games. I would rather play hide-and-seek with my friends because it was more interesting than singing songs. When my friends were playing games, I found a deck of cards on the ground. Although the cards were nice, we did not play with them because some of the cards were missing. Finally, our leader taught us how to do knot tying and we also had a fi rst-aid training. I thought doing knot tying was boring. We wanted to watch the sunset, but the sky turned dark suddenly. Soon, it rained. We rushed to pack things. We went home by bus. Although we were very tired, we had a great time.

Good morning, everyone. Today, I would like to tell you about my trip to Japan this summer. It was a fantastic trip. My parents took me to Japan this summer. It was my first time to go to Japan, so I was very excited about trip. We arrived in Tokyo in the evening. I love travelling by plane. Although we spent only a few hours on the plane, I was still very excited. After dinner, we visited the Tokyo Tower. It is a famous landmark in Japan. The tower was so magnifi cent and beautiful, but I preferred buying souvenirs near the tower to taking photos and selfies. I bought a book and a school bag, but they were so expensive! On the second day, we had a spa in the hotel. I have never tried it before. It was comfortable and relaxing! After having a spa, I had a massage. I did not enjoy it. Next time, I would rather sleep in the hotel room than have a massage. On the third day, we went to Ginza to go shopping. There were a lot of restaurants, gift shops and clothes shop. I bought three T-shirts, one water bottle and a cup. After shopping, we felt hungry, so we went to a restaurant to have some Japanese food. On the fourth day, we ate sushi in a local food stall. There were so many people. It was crowded. We needed to wait for one hour! The sushi was spicy for me but delicious. On the f ina l day, we went to a park near the hotel to watch the cherry blossom. It was so beautiful. Also, we visited Tokyo Disneyland. I preferred taking photos with different cartoon characters to riding on a roller coaster. All of us were very delighted. Although we did not spend a long time in Japan, we had so much fun! I hope I can travel to Japan with my family again. This is the end of my presentation. Thank you for your listening.

Dear Aunt Mary, How are you? Today, my English Teacher Mr. Hui asked my classmates and me what we want to be when we grow up. My best friend, Sandy wants to be a manager when she grows up. I feel very confused about my future. Can you give me some advice? Maybe I will be a teacher when I grow up because I like children very much. They are so adorable. Moreover, I want to teach my students a lot of knowledge and moral beliefs, help them be good citizens and have a happy childhood and school life. I think I am very outgoing and talkative because I always smile and I am always eager to talk to others even they are strangers. Perhaps I cannot be a teacher unless I am patient and calm because a teacher needs to teach naughty and active students. Also, I need to mark students’ homework. Although they may not do their homework properly, I need to stay calm and teach them patiently. I must be intelligent enough. It is because a teacher needs to teach students a lot of things and answer questions. Therefore, I need to work hard now so that I can go to a good secondary school.
