Our Success Stories contd…. Nomura and Smartshift Technologies

Nomura Research Institute, Kolkata and Smartshift Technologies, Bangalore are IT organisations where we conducted the Project Management Programme (PMP) with our partners. The complete 35 hours course mandated for PMP under PMI USA was completed.

ILS Hospitals Agartala

We conducted a number of programmes with our partner Aidias for ILS namely sessions on Communication, Customer Service, Team Building and Process Orientation. The programmes were con-ducted in a Train the Trainer (TOT) mode. After the training, a hand holding and monitoring phase was carried out to ensure that the organization would be able to manage on its own.

Rotary International, Kolkata

We are assisting the Salt Lake Kolkata chapter of Ro-tary International through the organization SENATE on a livelihood programme . Rotary is distributing cy-cle rickshaw and food vans. Our work involves provid-ing a livelihood training to the beneficiaries.

Webel Technology Limited, Kolkata

We assist Webel Technology Limited which is a Government organisation with a number of their learning and development requirements.

We have conducted courses on Project Management and hands on training on Microsoft Project software. We have trained the executives of WTL on hands on programming using PHP. We have also conducted training on advanced Excel.

Campus Placement We have assisted Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) with their campus placement initiatives. We covered a total of 9 premier engineering colleges and 14 premier MBA colleges all over India. Our work involved and end to end solution involving pre placement talk, aptitude and psychometric tests, GD, collating of scores and handing over to the DVC technical and HR teams for the personal interview rounds.

We have been assessing students of Engineering col-leges for IT through online aptitude test, Mock GD and Interview. We can take up campus placement drives on the behalf of companies providing an end to end solution. For IT, we can take up the technical and HR interviews of students as well.

Livelihood training programme for Rotary

development of web crawler programmes for a period of 16 months. The work was successfully completed and appreciated by the client. The work was executed during 2012-13.

ITEL Consulting UK

The assignment was carried out under Ideation Technology Solutions. Constellation project man-aged a product development for the UK based organisation for the Utilities market.

The application development was done using Ja-va and a BPM framework The work was carried out in 2015.

Shakers Appliances

We delivered a complete end to end web based solution in .NET technology for a service manage-ment system in collaboration with Sysgen Tech-nology Solutions. It supports customer data, ser-vice complaints and contractual services, service queue maintenance, branch maintenance, techni-cian maintenance and material management. The project was executed in 2013

IOLS PTY Limited, Australia The assignment was acquired by us and deliv-ered in collaboration with Sysgen Technology Solutions. The work involved reengineering and redevelopment of an insurance brokerage man-agement system. The system had been devel-oped in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.

Representative assignments

World Bank for Transport Deptt. Constellation was involved in Programme management of a prestigious project of World Bank for the Transport department, Government of West Bengal through Idea-tion Technology Solutions who are the implementation partners.

The work involved development of three portals for the department with online information management for citi-zens and department personnel. Collection of live pas-senger data for 350 plus routes of Kolkata Municipal Corporation and carrying out Route Rationalisation formed an important component.

Further Bus tracking system through Driver Apps, Com-muter Apps for citizens to keep track of running buses, Trip Planner Apps for working out the most optimised path were part of the assignment. The assignment was initiated in 2016 and was completed in March 2017.

Pinnacle Infotech Solutions The assignment for Pinnacle Infotech Solutions was ex-ecuted under Aidias Consulting. We were involved in business process improvement studies for all processes in the organisation. In HR, we undertook performance management, training needs assessment, training course design and implementation.

KRAs and performance measures were formulated. The intervention led to improvement in the efficiency and productivity of the core development and support pro-cesses. The assignment was carried out in 2014.

We next undertook the weekly audit of all the projects numbering around 70 and assisted in the redesign of the project management system and its subsequent devel-opment.

Price Waterhouse Coopers

Constellation is involved in business consulting assign-ments of Price Waterhouse Coopers. Our consultants are assisting the SAIL IISCO Steel Plant at Burnpur, West Bengal to develop the RFP for an enterprise wide SAP implementation. Going forward we shall be in-volved in system integrator evaluation and monitoring of the implementation.

Our consultants are working on development of busi-ness blueprint documents, functional requirement speci-fication and strategies for implementation of an enter-prise solution for a greenfield venture of the West Ben-gal government, the West Bengal State Beverages Cor-poration Ltd. In future we shall work on vendor evalua-tion, vendor onboarding and monitoring of the imple-mentation activities. This is an ongoing relationship.

Pinnacle Infotech Solutions The assignment was a follow-up to the earlier assign-ment towards process and efficiency improvement. We were involved in the regular review and audit of all Pin-nacle projects, about 70 of them at any point of time.

It involved the review from the angles of time, quality and cost. The weekly review and feedback helped Pin-nacle improve its delivery capabilities immensely.

We also recommended adoption of new technologies for the IT project management system.

Our Team

Ranjan Kumar Majumder Ranjan is the Managing Director and brainchild behind the formation of Constella-tion in 2011. Ranjan is an engineer from IIT Kharagpur and an MBA from IIM Calcutta. He has an experience of 20 years in the Manufacturing and IT domains. He has worked in Tata Consultancy Services for 17 years leading Delivery, Cen-ter of Excellence and Pre Sales activities in India and abroad.

Dr. Kapileswar Mishra

Dr. Mishra is the Regional Director and promotes Constellation business in vari-ous states of Eastern and Southern India. He holds a Ph.D in Civil Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and National Doctoral Fellow of AICTE, New Delhi along with a LLB degree from Utkal University. He has a teaching experience of mora than 25 years out of which 10 years as Director/Principal in various Engineering col-leges.

Santi Ranjan Saha

Santi is our Director Business Development and handles our sales and marketing functions. He is a BE Mechanical from Madras University and an MBA from IISWBM Kolkata. He has more than 30 years of experience in sales and market-ing and has worked in organisations such as Exide, Shell and Shneider. He also trains on management subjects.

Dr. Naveen Das

Dr. Das is the Director of the Management Program of NSHM Kolkata. He is a BTech from IIT Kharagpur, PGDM from IIM Calcutta and a Doc-torate in HR Studies. He has a rich experience of 26 years with compa-nies like Godrej & Boyce, Everonn Education Systems, IBS Business School and Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.

Alakananda Rao

Ms. Rao is the CEO and founder of Alvari Systems. She holds a post graduate degree from IIT Kharagpur. She has an experience of more than 30 years with organisations like TCS, NCST (C-DAC) and NIIT. Ms. Rao is an expert on Project and Programme Management. She advises a number of organisations.
