� In Malta, the two authorities that collect blood are the Red Cross and the Govermental Hospitals;

� The blood donation unit organises and promotes regular blood donation for its members and general public;

� Before we do a blood donation activitity, promotion takes place generally by the use of the media.

� Even we go to schools to incourage new blood donors and make presentations of the procedure to donate blood.

� Other non-govermental authorities help us to get the general public aware of the situation.

Our motto for such events:

BLOOD DONATION is CHARITY

The aim of this blood drive was to attract new blood donors and to show the public how easy it could be to donate blood.

The last Blood Drive was held on 8th May to commemorate the Red Cross day.

It was a success with 60 persons that donate blood and other 30 persons that was their first donation.

The blood donors group organizes and promotes regular blood donation for its members and general public.
